It's such a good-looking place, inside and out. Super cool vibe, but it was crazy loud. We were celebrating a birthday and they were lovely to acknowledge with welcome bubbles. Drinks were good. The menu was exciting and creative and we were eager to try a number of dishes. We opted for a six item charcuterie board that was 3 meats and all 3 cheeses offered. The winner was the 24 month jamon tejano (of course, at a $12 upcharge), but the cheese was basic, save for the buttermilk blue. The Board was attractive. Entrées were Empanadas (best plate of the night), Chicken Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage (very good) and the Lobster Gnocchi (so salty that it was inedible). That was my biggest issue of the evening, as we mentioned it to the server and he looked confused, but didn't offer to replace it, not to offer a discount, let alone take it off the check. Tacky. Finally, we got dessert, a squash bread pudding, that had a sauce they'd neglected to disolve the sugar in. It would have been good if made properly, but we had four bites and couldn't eat that. Needless to say, we got to pay for that, too. It was just really disappointing and we felt like we'd been fleeced. I wouldn't return or recommend.
I had heard that @curedatpearl has a good happy hour but had never been. We decided to check it out last night for dinner. We arrived just in the nick of time and Rebecca took our happy hour orders. Hubby had the Moscow Mule and I had Slow Poke, which has orange and pineapple. We tried Boudin Empanadas, Double Blue Ribbon Burger with fries, Fried Quail Legs, and Chili Crisp Romaine from the happy hour menu. The flavors popped when I ate the quail legs and smoked onion jam on the burger was the win. The burger was made of smoked bacon and wagyu! For the entrees, Dad and I shared the Lobster Gnocchi. I loved the sauce! It was made with white wine, truffle nage, and pecorino romano. Hubby had the Trout Pecan, which was served with fregola, brown butter, and crawfish. The food and service were excellent. Highly recommend the happy hour. You're full before you even get to the entrees!
I was there for happy hour on a Saturday afternoon. I hadn't been there in a long time and I remember their quail legs being the best part about their happy hour. Sadly, they are no longer being offered. They do have some nice bites and the drinks are pretty tasty. The meat fridge that they have in the middle of the restaurant looked a bit grimy. Overall an okay happy hour option but might explore other spots before returning here.
Stumbled upon here for their happy hour while walking around the pearl. What a great find! They have a spectacular outdoor area and their own personal quad area. They have a small happy hour food menu with quail legs for just $0.50 each! Wasn't super oily and savory and delicious. Their burgers were only $6. Wine was half off. The server made great recommendations. They had a white Tempranillo which was crisp, cool and refreshing. Super cheap for just 3 ppl. Definitely consider coming back for regular dining in the future.
A great experience with a but of a "speakeasy" vibe due to the nature of a post office turned restaurant in the Pearl District. Highly recommend booking reservations ahead of time, and treating oneself to a date night. You can't go wrong with any of their charcuterie recommendations, as well as crudo or tartare options. The fried oysters were also a delectable choice, offering a wide variety of tastes and textures. Pro Tip: Arrive early for your reservation to take advantage of the HH from 3-6 PM (drinks, food, and even butcher items).

For the main course, I ordered the steak, which initially took a bit longer than expected. The head chef personally came to our table to apologize because it hadn't met his high standards the first time. That level of care and accountability spoke volumes about their commitment to their guest's dining experience The wait was more than worth it--the steak was tender, and perfectly cooked when it arrived. It paired beautifully with the wine our server recommended, who, by the way, was incredible throughout the night.
The food was 10/10. Everything on the charcuterie was delicious including the sauces. The steak was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. The medium was cooked to perfection. We also had the tarte which was so good and mushroomy. You definitely have to like mushroom to get that. They made me a delicious Hugo spritz even though it wasn't on the menu so I appreciated that. The staff was really nice and helpful. It was clean and beautiful inside. The bar was very nice too.

Classic exterior and inviting entrance. As the name implies, and you can see upon entry, they cure their own meats. And they are incredible. I came in at the beginning of happy hour, so it was pretty quiet. Because it was not too busy, I had a chance to chat with the GM and bartender, who were both really nice. I saw the GM also showing a couple around and telling them some of the history of the building. My drinks were well-balanced. I had a three meat charcuterie board, fried quail eggs from the happy hour menu and poutine. I would absolutely return for dinner or happy hour.

It was a wonderful dining experience. The staff was warm and explained everything well. The food was good and the portion was reasonable. The biscuits were delicious, fresh out of the oven, buttery and soft in the center. Cured even published a cookbook for purchase. However, there were a few things to improve to earn 5 stars. The food came out very slowly. We waited a long time, over 45 mins. The grits were at room temperature and not enough butter. Most of the dishes would be better if they were more seasoned and the fish with more sauce poured on top. But overall, not bad. I recommend trying the Happy Hour to get a taste before joining the dinner crowd. Yes, they offer Happy Hours even on Sundays.
This was one of our favorite places to visit before we had kids. We decided to take our babies there recently and the place was quiet for a Saturday morning. Everyone was accommodating and we enjoyed our brunch. My husband had the burger and he was satisfied with it. I had the chicken and donuts and while I loved the chicken and syrup, the donuts were a little bit too dry for me. Overall, it was a good experience, and we plan to try out their dinner menu sometime soon.
Bartender took the best care of us as we ordered an appetizer. Very clean and modern restaurant as well.

Fantastic service! Cured was recommend to me by a colleague as I was visiting San Antonio. We enjoyed charcuterie, kale salad, the lobster gnocchi, and smoked chicken gumbo. We decided to sit outside & there were tons of kids running around in front of us, but it was the perfect night! Our server (I believe his name was Grant) was so kind, always filled our waters, checked on us, and was super down to earth. He mentioned that the owners (husband and wife) both work in the restaurant - bar tender who makes up the cocktail list & chef who creates the menu. Would recommend! read more
Stopped by CURED at the Pearl and had a good experience. The burger was messy and the fries were great! Cocktails were nicely crafted with attention to presentation. I miss the happy hour quail legs. Service was attentive and the space has a nice atmosphere in the historic Pearl building. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality matches what you're paying for. A magical space in San Antonio's redesigned Pearl district offering indoor/outdoor seating with a chef's counter and private dining options. James Beard finalist Chef Steve McHugh has alchemized his personal healing journey as restaurateur bringing Southern flavors from New Orleans specializing in a farm-to-table menu focused on cured and dry-aged meats. Their famed charcuterie (pick 3/6/9 with options of meat & cheese) is one-of-a-kind. Hunter recommended a salty, Smoked Duck Ham (excellent with the seasonal preserves, all made in-house), a 90-day Smoked Beef Cecina, and the highly addictive (classically Southern, yet distinctly original) Pickled "Pimento" Cheese. All dressed up with a balanced whole grain mustard and gently pickled okra (Texas greens!). Each element was exceptional in its own right, but together, a very special board. Makes me look forward to returning to try their recommended dry-aged pork steak and (ingredients rotating) bread pudding. read more

I was lucky to find Cured - on my last day in town an rideshare driver recommended their happy hour it after I mentioned I was considering checking out the Pearl area. I am so happy that I got that recommendation, it was a great spot for happy hour. The building is really cool, complete with a case of meats greeting you right inside the door. The boudin empanada might have been one of the best items I ate on my trip. The pastry was perfectly light and delicious and the the filling was incredibly flavorful. I also ordered a few fried quail legs to try as they were a unique and intriguing item. They were plated beautifully and the drizzled honey and rosemary really completed the flavor and the crunch. While I was planning on just a quick happy hour so I could try other places, I ordered a second empanada after having the first because of how good it was! read more
A classy place for those who love cured meats and charcuterie, like myself! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with a view of hanging meats. The service is fantastic and the concept is creative. We stopped by here after doing some window shopping around this beautiful area, and the food did not disappoint. They have amazing happy hour deals and the staff were very hospitable and attentive. I had the chicken sausage sliders with strawberry and pineapple jam, which complimented each other very well. I was highly impressed by the pairings of meats and sauces/preserves. Visited Cured this past week with a friend and we had a lovely time and meal. We had a few drinks and shared a charcuterie board. Our server was very thorough in describing each item. My friend order the French 75 cocktail. It was delicious and refreshing for a summer drink. The host was very friendly upon arrival and when I asked for a table my a window, he accommodated me. The place was busy but not noisy which I appreciated. The large windows in the front of the restaurant provide lots of natural light which was nice as the evening wound down. read more

I can't believe I hadn't tried cured earlier, I'm so bummed because the whole experience was FANTASTIC. From the beginning, the doors were opened for us as we walked in. They were offering all day happy hour which is probably ONE of the best happy hours in town- HANDS DOWN. I ordered the boudin Empanada which was very tasty and came with a great chipotle type sauce with homemade pickles. Additionally, I ordered 4 qual legs which were nice and crunchy and were perfectly complemented by the rosemary honey drizzled on top. Their Bahama mama cocktail tasted like I should be sipping somewhere beside the beach. So good, so tropical. Sweet but not too sweet. PERFECT. I also ordered the rosemary citrus haze which was also very good but the Bahama mama was my favorite. The service was amazing. We had a mini history lesson by one of the employees who pointed out what was historic and was was restored or was new. We had the bartender stop by and ask feedback on drinks and just felt very taken care of. Not overbearing but genuinely interested in making sure we enjoyed ourselves. I'll definitely be back. Happy hour at Cured is a BIG winner and I can't wait to return. read more

If you haven't been to Cured for happy hour, what are you waiting for?! My party of three girls and a baby stopped by for what was all of our first time and we all plan to come back! We got a table outside with zero wait and when the weather is nice this gives you a view that can't be beat. Already pleased with the area, the food knocked it out of the park! The fried quail legs were the favorite of the table, and at fifty cents a pop you can eat to your heart's content. The fries were perfectly crisp, and the romaine salad was a delightful pop of freshness and flavor. Paired with our drinks and this made for the best happy hour treat. Not to mention drinks and food for all three of us only came out to $34. That is a price that'll beat any deals nearby and it doesn't entail taking a hit to quality. Lastly, our server was super nice and accommodating of our stroller situation which is always helps put things at ease when dining out with an infant. Can't wait to go back and try some more! read more
Ok where to start! I'm still amazed at how good this restaurant was. I don't know what took me so long to try it !! First off, Steven McHugh , what a beautiful establishment you have. From the moment I entered I knew everything that followed would be amazing. The ambiance and service were great, and OMG the food and drinks definitely lived up to my expectations. The quail legs were freaking delicious, the batter was perfectly seasoned. The Burger although it looks "plain" .. no no FAR FROM !! The buns, the flavor of the meat, the cheese, & sauce.. combined perfectly!! Definitely one of the best burgers I've ever had. We made it in perfect timing for happy hour menu. We ordered 4 drinks, 2 burgers/fries, empanada, quail legs, and poutine. All that for a ridiculously low price !! HAPPY HOUR HIGHLY RECOMMEND this spot ! Perfect date night read more

We arrived at about 1:45 & it was not at all busy. It was quiet w/music set at just the appropriate volume. It was brunch time, I ordered the brunch basket as a starter. I would probably not order again in the future--just wasn't impressed w/the freshness of the pastries. Then I ordered the Cured Breakfast & my hubby had the Steak & Eggs. Both plates were presented well & tasted delicious. Out of the 2, I'd say that the steak & eggs was a better value option, for only $6 more than the cured breakfast. Although my plate's description mentioned "praline bacon," I really didn't notice any difference than the common crispy bacon. We also ordered a side of fresh fruit which included slices of green apples, oranges & pineapple bits. The service was superb! I look forward to our next visit. read more
We popped in for happy hour (they were open on July 4th) and loved the charm of the building and the service. We got seated right away and our waiter was so friendly and attentive. We ordered off the Happy Hour menu and got the Boudin Empanadas (1 per serving during Happy Hour) and several orders of the Fried Quail Legs for 50 cents each during Happy Hour. The food came out very quickly and everything was delicious. The fried quail legs were served with a spiced honey sauce that was delicious. The dipping sauce for the empanada was smooth with a great flavor. The decor was beautiful. Our waiter told us that the restaurant had been built inside an older building, and a lot of the walls were still the original architecture. There's also a case in the front of the restaurant when you first walk in. Inside you will see the cuts of meat that are being aged. Overall, we had a great time here. We were told that their menu changes pretty frequently. Will definitely come back the next time we are in San Antonio to try out some other dishes. read more

Another great visit at Cured!! Took my parents here and we were super early for our reservation because our concert ended early! We also came again on a Sunday. The hosts and waiters are always very nice. We also were there during happy hours and it's a MUST!! Rlly cheap price on drinks and very cheap apps and a few mains. So we tried out the quail legs that were only 50 cents a pop and wow they were sooo good. Then of course we had to get some charcuterie and the fried chicken. The biscuits are honestly my fave part - not dry and flavorful. The chicken is just amazing. Grazie cured! read more

Cured is inside in a very cute historic building located in the popular Pearl district and just off the Riverwalk. Upon walking in, you will see a case displaying the cured meat. This was our first time here so of course we had to try the charcuterie board. We got the Reserve Charcuterie Board and added a cheese. This board is substantial! If you shared this between two people, it could serve as a light lunch. We really enjoyed the jam and even took home a bottle of the peach jam. I got the Beer Can Mussels. The portion is very large and I could not finish the entire serving. The mussels were briny and the chunks of ham added a touch of salt. The fries that came with this dish were good - the aioli is very creamy. My fiancé got the Wurst Case Scenario and he really enjoyed it. He said the grits were awesome. The menu had a lot to offer and I am looking forward to the next time we can dine in to try some more. read more
Oh my, how do I begin? I don't usually do such a scathing review, as I am tempted to do about cured. First, let me start by saying it took over an hour to get a charcuterie board, a burger and a salad. The Caesar salad was actually a kale saladand the grits were totally cold at zero flavor. The charcuterie board was very unusual. Everything was made in house. I can't really say it was bad, but it was very disappointing as was everything else about the restaurant. Ambiance of this place is very Interesting. You look through the window and see a huge case of hanging meat. However, when you walk in, totally different. Classy even. Drinks were strong. Portions were small, but everything we had was delicious. Our waiter was kind and kept it real with us on what to and what not to order based on our preferences. Group of 7, quick service. read more
If you couldn't tell by the name of the restaurant, Cured is a restauraunt in the Pearl that specializes in cured meats and I was satisfied with my most recent visit. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a bunch of hanging cured meats on a display in a nice historical looking building. The service was also very solid. My table wasn't looking to eat anything heavy so we option for a couple sides such as the Cathead Biscuits ($8) and Fried Chicken Livers ($19). Then we also got the Charcuterie Choice of Nine ($45). The biscuits were delicious and moist and I would certainly give them a 10/10. The fried chicken livers....well chicken livers in general are not my cup of tea with the texture and intense flavor. My table loved them, but I am one of those people that don't have the palette for them unfortunately. The Charcuterie is expensive as expected and I wish they had more cold cut meat options, but their options were unique and tasty. Also very aesthetically pleasing. I didn't get to explore too much of the menu at Cured, but I would like to go back again because of the comfortable environment and experience overall. read more

My friend and I went for the first time today. It was lovely all around. Nice ambiance, great friendly service, and very delicious food, cocktails, & wine! My friend and I ordered all 11 items on the charcuterie menu lol plus the White Truffle Gnocchi, the Wagyu dip (Medina County Parisa) with toasted crackers, & the Cotechino (sausage patties). Plus hummingbird cake for dessert. Very fun sampling dinner! read more

A very cute restaurant in San Antonio! We came here for happy hour which ends at 6pm to grab drinks and an early dinner. The happy hour is extremely worth it - cocktails were $5 and beers were $2.50. For food, would recommend the pork belly and the salad. We also ordered the mussels, empanadas, and poutine, which all were good and flavorful. Our server Jeffrey was amazing and kind and recommend many amazing items. Would come back here for happy hour again if I'm back in the San Antonio area! read more

The happy hour burger was delicious! Super flavorful!! Josh our server was super helpful, and quick with service! Our food came out in no time, and the drinks were super tasty! The floor manager also checked in with us and told us neat facts about the meat case and the restaurant itself! All in all a beautiful restaurant with awesome service, food, and drinks!! Will be back!! read more

ambiance wise - it's fine for kids. Not very fancy or stuffy. But the food is mostly cured meats - so check the menu to see if you're happy with the options.
