I came to the lounge side of Asado and sat at the bar. Kevin, the bartender was friendly and on top of things. Even the woman running food was hauling out large plates, impressively. Not what I was expecting at the Doubletree. Their portions were large, and people seemed to enjoy them. I ruined myself on the giant cookie at check in, and just settled for a glass of wine. Bottom line...skip this place! Run away! The service was absolutely horrendous! I ordered Pozole and a California Club Salad. That's all. No drinks. No one else with me. It was small, very small. They spread it out in a big plastic container to make it look good. It didn't even have the avocado on it! Oh, and NO bacon! The "grilled chicken" was minimal. just a couple of pieces. Very little Goat cheese and almost no walnuts. When I got to my room and looked at it, I was so tempted to go back down and get a refund, but I was tired. At the table, I was so tempted to just leave it and walk away, but I was hungry. And get this, on my way back to my room, I ran into a friend of mine who was on his way down to get a salad too. I told him I got the California Club. I ran into him the next morning and he had waited so long to get his salad that he just left before it ever arrived. Just walked away....never saw his waiter (Quynci) either. Bad service with a waitress that would get mad if you request things. I got eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. My eggs were overcooked and not even poached. I didn't come here with high expectations being that the restaurant is inside a hotel, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised with my experience here! The decor makes it look like a higher end restaurant which threw me off since its in the hotel. It was very nice though, everything is new and modern. The menu wasn't too big, but I liked the choices that I saw. I will say that the entrees were all kind of pricey and since I'm currently on a budget, I settled for the Alamo burger because it was only $13. I ordered and the burger came out pretty fast which was awesome because I was starving. It was way bigger than I expected it to be. Totally worth the $13. The bacon was so crispy and there was even avocado on it... I wasn't expecting the avocado, I'm not sure if it was supposed to be on there, but I'm not complaining haha! I don't know what kind of bread the bun was, but it was different and really good! Really great meal. Great service too! Gregory was my server and he was very friendly and made sure my glass of water was never empty! So I totally didn't expect the meal I just ate. The place is empty. Its early on a Friday afternoon/evening. I almost changed my mind because there just isn't much happening here. The place is relatively small. Not the feel of major restaurant. It's not a major restaurant. But let me tell you...the ribeye was pretty badass. Additionally considering the service and ambiance: An overall good place I would not return to unless I was ordering the best choice of the night, by far, the Mixed Seafood Grill. The orders, respectively: Mixed Seafood Grill (Fresh, sauteed exactly right, the salmon, scallops (the favorite), shrimp were tender an medium, soft and moist in the center, vegetables moist and flavorful, rice nice accent; $30 not great but it was worth it), Grilled Prawns Appetizer (Nice mix of flavors, cooked beautifully, great presentation, but $14 for 5?), Chicken Sandwich with Fresh Fruit (Surprisingly well grilled and tasty, a simple sandwich done right, but not really for $12), Southwest Steak Salad (Avacado, romaine lettuce fresh; very small handful of bland corn; black beans dry, maybe overcooked; cilantro dressing good; the steak was supposed to be medium rare, but more like medium well in parts and well done at the edges, chewy, should not even finish a few pieces;presentation alright, pile of greens with only meat visible in a handful; $18!; it was as if the chef rushed this dish after the others and decided he did not care anymore) The place was deserted @ 8:30. The female worker was extremely rude and disrespectful, the food is overpriced for the selection, and the service overall was subpar. Spend your money elsewhere. The Story I ordered a drink recommended by the server and it tasted very watered down and as if there was no alcohol in it at all. After discussing at my table, both of our drinks were not to our liking so we tried to fix it. My friend went to the bar first and got her drink corrected and I went after her. This is a newish restaurant in the Hilton. They put out a coupon for buy one, get one, so I went and checked it out. They have a wide selection of fish, meat, and veggies. I opted for the duck tacos. I wasn't blown away by the meat. It was a bit on the greasy side, and bland. The sides were delicious though. The presentation on the plate was beautiful! We were really impressed by the service. Our waters never went dry, and the manager came by to make sure everything was going well with our dinner. They offer a wonderful wine selection, and plenty of quiet, relaxed seating. The decor is sleek, but somewhat cold. I enjoyed the pictures on the walls. The best part about this place is the bread. They keep bringing out more and more and more. Skeptical about listening to the recommendations at an establishment where the most expensive items or the mixed meat platter are highly recommended. I was stuck between the duck tacos and the tenderloin steak. I was swiftly guided to the tenderloin by my bartender Greg as I stated I was looking for quality not quantity. The tenderloin was absolutely phenomenal and blew my mind away even though it looked slightly more cooked than what I'm accustomed to (medium rare, more rare sauce on side). The presentation was appealing however broccoli wasn't my forte so I asked for a side of asparagus, which Greg dashed into the kitchen like Bolt and came out saying all good homie I told him to cook it up right NOW! I felt bad at first, however without the asparagus, I probably would have only provided a 4 stars as it completed the dish, plus he hooked it up with no additional charge. 5 star service from Greg 5 star recommendations from Greg. 5 star steak and asparagus, but 3 star potatoes. I was greeted by the Banquet Captain Megan and seated immediately. Then I had the privilege of meeting the sweetest lady named Lisa who was my server. They were both very attentive and eager to help me make a decision as to what to have for dinner. I had the Ribeye and of course I had it blue rare and to my surprise it came out perfect. This quiet place is located inside the Airport Hilton Hotel. We had a business lunch there last week. I had the Chicken Wrap with a ranch jalapeno sauce, not too spicy. In the area for a conference w/ the military and decided to try Asado because of the reviews. Unfortunately, I was unable to try the food because after waiting for 10 minutes, while watching people standing around, I went to the hostess' stand and asked her if I could get someone to take my order...the guy that was standing by her apologized and said he was going to get someone. I sat at my table for 5 more minutes as I watched one of the waitresses take the order of a party of 6 that arrived after I did. I then went back to the hostess and asked what was going on, she said it was her first day and she doesn't really know so I asked for the manager. A guy came from the back (I'm assuming it was the manager)with a glass of water and I explained to him that a person should not have to wait 15 minutes to be greeted or even given a glass of water when 3 people are just standing around, he apologized and asked me if I was going to stay...I declined and told him that they need to work on their customer service skills. Didn't end up eating here after all, got there an hour before closing. Door from outside the hotel was locked when we tried to enter. Finally hostess opened the door as we were walking away. Other patrons saw us walk away from the door and drove away. Hostess did not smile but made sure to mention that the restaurant closed in an hour. Was not welcoming at all. We asked to sit at a booth rather than table, did not go over well with hostess. The waiter came immediately to get our order started and was very nice and cheerful. We asked about the lobster we saw on menu on line, and regretfully they have changed the menu and had not updated web site. We left because we went specifically for that entree. I've tried the fries that a friend had while enjoying their Alamo Burger which they said was one of the best burgers ever cooked. But here is the kicker- one of the best treats in this restaurant is Peter. You could not ask for a better guide to what you want to eat. He is solicitous without being overbearing. My 5 stars are for service and specifically for Victor. I'm in hotels about 45 weeks of the year and my main requirements at a hotel bar/restaurant are to keep my glass filled and to not make me wait longer than required. Victor was on top of me the whole time and turned my 3 star rating into a 5. The food is decent- I had the salmon and a wedge salad. Again, basic fare but it was tasty- average on the hotel restaurant scale, great presentation. Stopped in for breakfast and a little disappointed. Sat down and was immediately poured a cup of coffee...thought he was a mind reader. Decided to order off the menu instead of the buffet. Chose the "All American" ; 2 eggs bacon toast hash browns OJ. Back to the coffee, no cream on any tables and never asked if I wanted any. No spoons on the tables and never offered one. Food came relatively fast. Eggs great, bacon ok, hash browns looked ok but mushy. Toast....no butter on it and none on the table nor offered any. Finished coffee while beginning my meal and nobody in the dining room to ask for a refill. Half way through I wandered over to the buffet area and helped myself to butter and a coffee refill....no spoons anywhere. Finished up and no comment was made by the server about the butter packets of the coffee suddenly being full again. Perhaps he was new which is understandable if the place was swamped but there were two people in the dining area including me. I'm going to assume there is a lack in the training here as this is a HILTON flagship hotel. Some attention to detail needs to take place. I'm a little more critical than the average patron as I am in hotels 7 months out of the year so I notice some things more readily. This is a solid 3 due to service. Improvements in the hash browns for single orders for sure but otherwise food taste, coffee flavor and freshness and quality of the OJ is high. I hope the Mgt reads this and addresses this to raise the bar where a Hilton should really be for the $15 price of breakfast and $20 buffet. read more

Good service. Convenient place for breakfast if you are staying at the hotel. What I like best was people watching. The restaurant is located in a hotel lobby. Some of the guess come dress up for breakfast as if they were at their house. We came here for dinner with a meat craving after a hectic day of shopping. I was looking for a peaceful, good quality dining experience. The hotel's exterior is unassuming and if you come in through the restaurant entrance you find yourself surrounded by a rather mono-chrome, earth tone very modern and Spartan dining room. We had to wait a few minutes to be noticed and seated as the dining room was completely empty. The silence was almost church like and much welcome after hustling around the crowds all day. Our waiter came over and he encouraged the silence speaking softly and we returned the favor. We ordered the crab cakes and Caprese salad as starters, both arrived beautifully plated and were enough to share. I've had the best crab cakes in Maryland and I'm usually disappointed when I've ordered them anywhere else. These were AMAZING, easily the best I've had West of the Chesapeake. The Caprese salad was very good, nice slices of tomato and mozzarella, the Balsamic reduction was made with a good quality Balsamic. The result was a mild, almost honey flavored drizzle that complimented the tomato well. Before I go on, I have to comment on the bread basket that was brought to our table. Standard basket, cloth napkin, but inside was anything but standard. This was a beautiful sour dough with a hardy crust and fluffy, steaming interior that the fresh butter that they brought with it just melted into. I wanted to sit there with my glass of wine and eat the whole thing and forego my entrée, it was that good. I ordered the tomahawk chop with asapagus and the smoked gouda mac and cheese with bacon on our server's recommendation. Music played as this plate came out. I have never seen a larger cut of pork that wasn't walking of its own volition. The chop was massive and I knew I couldn't even eat half of it, but the thought of trying to do so pleased me. The meat had a nice smoke flavor with grill marks and expertly seasoned. The asparagus was a bit of a disappointment as the kitchen had made such efforts on the rest of the meal. It tasted like it was just steamed. A little bacon grease and sea salt and a quick char on the grill would have been a much better treatment for this noble vegetable. The smoked gouda and bacon mac and cheese came studded with little grape tomatoes. It was creamy, smoky and delicious. The fresh berries with Chantilly cream and the key lime pie were a perfect ending to a fine meal. About dessert time another couple and a gentleman arrived. For most of our meal it was like having our own private fine dining room. I would definitely try Asado again. read more

The first time I've ever been first at any event in my entire life, and it was an experience to share and pay it forward! Chef Mike Collins was so gracious with his announcement to my table (being the first to experience restaurant week). When he welcomed us and inquired about the meal, I was excited to find out the meal is cooked to order, so if you desire your fish and chips grilled, blackened or otherwise, HE CAN DO IT! Although I didn't try the chips with my catfish (today's fresh catch was super yummy) I was assured they are top shelf. The appetizer, seafood soup was perfect for this rainy day lunch, WOW! The broth was very fresh with tasty shrimp, calamari, mussels and carrot started the 3 course menu. Dessert was excellent, chocolate, fruit, and cobbler added the "I'm special today" touch.
