Chose this place for a graduation brunch for my daughter and it was the best choice ever:) It was excellent. I was able to book our table on OpenTable. We were seated right away. The service was great and these dishes were delicious! Talk about food coma after. Everyone found something they liked and it was a good time with family and friends. Will definitely be back:)

Came for lunch. I love the Cellar/ distillery style decor. Very cozy The restaurant is rather large and was quite empty when we came for lunch. Maybe the staff had a lot of ground to cover but our server was a bit slow. Everything we ate was delicious. Deviled eggs. Brussel sprouts. French onion burger. Chopped chicken salad. Whiskey cake. All of it came to about $80 before tip. I would definitely come back

I love whiskey cake. Every location I've been to has been pretty consistent with service and flavor. I got the tavern burger with fries and it was a great solid burger. Ordered Rotisserie Farm Bird as well for the misses and she loved it. Tried some of it and chicken was cooked perfectly. We ordered whiskey cake for the table, and that is the best cake I've ever had. So so good! If you go, please get the whiskey cake. Promise you won't be disappointed.

Got to visit whiskey cake with my family for the first time to celebrate Mother's Day early. We went for brunch. Since it was still early there was plenty of parking, especially since it is a mall parking lot. We had a reservation for 1015 and the place already seemed full. I really enjoyed how the restaurant looked on the inside, especially the bar area. I went for the brunch sandwich to eat. The sandwich was good, but very sloppy. It fell apart as I was eating it. I wish the bagel had more flavor. The potatoes that came with it were great. I definitely plan to make it back to try their lunch or dinner menu.

Very quick wait time, attentive waitress. Ambiance is nice, cool set up. The food was mostly good- fun flavor combos. The mimosa wasn't great though it's almost like the juice or the champagne had gone bad- but - overall it wasn't a big deal and I still drank it. Would like to come back and try other things!

I had a great experience at Whiskey Cake! Celebrated a friend's birthday during the holidays. Our group was huge, they sat us at a high table in the middle of the place, it was a great vantage point to the kitchen area. It was chaotic but exciting. Our waiter was phenomenal although I cannot remember his name unfortunately. We tried all kinds of things on the menu! Such a flavorful and unique menu. I got the salmon dish. It was a tad overcooked but I still enjoyed it. Overall enjoyed my time here, would definitely recommend! Oh yeah, they have valet! The parking lot is ginormous so plan accordingly lol

I came back to update my review as I've been back to here to Whiskey Cake 2 additional times and have been THOROUGHLY pleased with the amazing food and service! Most recently I returned for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday and we both enjoyed the amazing food, delicious pressed juice flight, and top notch service!!! Shame on me for not remembering our servers name (blame perimenopause!!!), but the Seattle native made the lunch magnifique!! I really LOVED the pressed juice flight!! I am a huge fan of pressed juice, but always have a hard time selecting just one. This allowed me to sample them all and find a new favorite! All were good in their own right, but my list from #1 down: Little Pink Drink, Ruby Slipper, Jessica Wabbit, and Hulk. I had the hummus for appetizer (again) and loved it just the same!! Went for the combo of chicken chopped salad and turkey chili and was perfectly satisfied for a lunch portion. I actually couldn't finish!! Surprised the birthday girl with a whiskey cake and ice cream - yum. Yum. YUM! Will definitely have to make another visit sooner than later!! Whiskey Cake is knocking it out of the park!!

I cannot count how many birthday dinners and brunches I have celebrated at Whiskey Cake and that alone tells you everything. This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The atmosphere is chic and industrial with a bar that feels like a cross between the Beauty and the Beast library and a Hemingway era study. Edison bulbs antique furniture and warm wood tones make it feel like you have stepped into another time. Every table is candle lit which instantly creates a cozy old world vibe that never misses. The food always delivers and it is rarely the same twice. Our server shared that the menu changes about once a month and many ingredients are farm to table and locally sourced. You can taste the difference and I love that it supports the community. We started with the deviled eggs which were exactly how a deviled egg should be. Creamy balanced and topped with a small frite that adds the perfect salty crunch. I ordered the Guava Gimlet and it was spectacular. Bright citrusy and tropical all at once. A true gem. I had the fish and chips and they were everything I hoped for. Fresh buttery fish in a beautiful beer batter with lemon and malt vinegar. Crispy well seasoned fries sealed the deal. My husband had the salmon with mushrooms greens and a creamy sauce that completely elevated the dish. The real star is the Whiskey Cake. Always available and always unforgettable. Texture flavor lighting and yes even a little drama. I cannot recommend this place enough and I hope you love it as much as we do.

Five of us Waited a half hour for my cocktail. Asked. Didn't come They said there was a large party and the bartender was backed up. Food was good. I loved the snap peas with whipped ricotta. And then a salad. Wish I could have come back for the peas again. The whiskey cake dessert was worth naming the restaurant !!!

Happy New Year my fellow Yelpers... Right before Christmas, my wife and I were at La Cantera to get some last minute shopping done. After all of our shopping was done, our stomachs began to grumble. I looked at the options around, browsed menus, and Whiskey Cake looked like a delicious option. Whilst on my walk to the restaurant, I ran into my sister and brother in law, and encouraged them to join. We all walked in and were seated right away. A very modern looking restaurant and bar with a somewhat rustic appeal. We were seated and handed menus. The friendly waitress asked if we had been there before to which we stated we had not. She enthusiastically explained the menu, explained their ingredients, then took our drink orders. We perused the menu while drinks were being fetched. Looking over the menu I saw many different delicious options and had a hard time picking something. Then, my selection jumped out at me. I am a huge fan of chicken and waffles, and there it was on the menu. Looking around a saw other diners eating it and it looked amazing. The waitress came back and we ordered. My brother in law opted for the chicken melt sandwich, my sister pancakes, my wife a breakfast dish, and me chicken and waffles. We all had a nice visit while we waited on our food. I was very excited for mine. In good time, our food arrived. All of the dishes looked amazing. The chicken melt looked huge, the pancakes looked amazing, the breakfast dish looked nice, and my chicken and waffles looked like they could be one of those pretty pictures in a magazine of food that is picture perfect. My brother in law was very quiet and scarfed his down. No complaints. My sister enjoyed her pancakes, but was not a fan of the super thick and super dense texture. The pancakes were a good half inch thick each. My wife said hers was just your basic breakfast dish with no complaints. She was not a fan of the chicken sausage. Now for mine, I was absolutely satisfied. Every bite was amazing. The chicken was juicy and crispy, and the waffle offset the saltiness with maple sweetness. The savory gravy was also delicious and I kept alternating between the sweet syrup with the hearty gravy. Every single bite was amazing. This now is my favorite chicken and waffle dish I have ever had in my life. It took me a while, but I polished my plate clean. I was absolutely, positively, amazed and stuffed. We paid our bill and were gone in good time. Great food, great company, and a great day. Could not ask for more! I highly recommend Whiskey Cake, and will be back. In the meantime, I will have pictures of their chicken and waffles dancing in my head in my dreams. I want it again very soon. Enjoy!

    Fried Green Tomatoes

Came here mainly for the whiskey cake, but also got an order of the fried green tomatoes. Didn't get any other food, but the whiskey cake is definitely the star of the show here. The fried green tomatoes were overpriced and tasted like normal tomatoes that had breading--nothing special. I would definitely skip this item. The whiskey cake was super moist and decadent. It's definitely made for sharing. Service was friendly but since it was busy that night, the waiter did take a while to come back around to check on the table. I also liked the dimmed lighting that night, which added to the overall ambiance.

If we lived closer this restaurant would be a problem. We really enjoyed the food, ambiance and service was okay. We ordered a couple of non-spirited drinks, too much food for one dining experience, and carried homes lots of leftovers. Well I finished my left overs for dinner . We started our tastebud experience with their cinnamon roll with roasted pecans. D*** just the best we've ever tasted so far in the US. Our entrees were fish and chips plus the prime rib and Gouda. As I stated earlier we carried out "doggy" bags. You can look at the pictures for the massiveness that was the food on our plates. My eyes got big as they walked near our table. I guess they really do everything BIG in Texas. Come hungry, leave too full for comfort and take home the rest for the next day or later that evening. We will definitely return!

We continued upstairs, and I could hardly breathe in the elevator it was so scented. When we got to the room it was also heavily fragranced. I tried to call the front desk, and the phone in the room didn't work reliably. Our call dropped several times. They offered box fans for us to air out the room. However, when we opened the windows, a blast of cigarette smoke wafted into the room because it is directly above their designated smoking area. We asked the front desk for help, and they said not to worry, hardly anyone smokes in that area. Meanwhile we watched several people out there smoking almost constantly. They offered no other accommodation or help. Not worth it. Very uncomfortable and upset because this will ruin our vacation. Edit: 1 to 3 stars. The manager eventually heard our concerns, responding to a secondary issue with cigar smoke in our room after leaving windows open - their recommendation- to air out the room. They found us a different accommodation and made it more than fair and comfortable. Why not 4 stars? Because it took the entire first day to be resolved.

Another great meal! Our server Brahim provided the perfect service: attentive, thoughtful, kind…read more Really enhanced our meal. For a starter we shared the cornbread with another couple and it was plenty for 4 people. If you are from out of town and looking for some Texas-shaped vittles or just want something substantial to stretch your meal I recommend it! Very tasty and filling. For my main I had the scallops with creamed corn risotto. It was a dainty portion but the flavors were nice. My husband had the short rib tagliatelle which he loved. It was very rich and filling. We had the buttermilk pie again for dessert and this time it tasted sweeter than I remembered. It was good but we couldn't finish it. Idk if it was my tastebuds or if it was different. Anyways still a great meal overall and we will be back!

Checked Yelp for dinner suggestions so Doc drove us to the paid lot next to where all the Cinderella lit up carriages drawn by horses were lined up. It seemed the boats going up and down the River portion of the Walk were busier. While we were walking I had my eyes open for a table with a view. We stopped at Four Brothers. The receptionist went over suggestions on the menu on her outdoor podium. Cornbread in the shape of Texas, shareable items like Dino ribs for $82, plus Pork Shank and ice tea completed our order. Everyone was very friendly. We had an exceptional view and we had more than enough food that we had to ask for take out boxes. My favorite was the Mac & cheese though I'm usually not a fan. This dish used cork screw shaped pasta and it was moist and not stuck together. I had to share a photo of it with Sweetie who is in Tokyo right now. Doc liked the pimento for the cornbread. As it was almost 9 pm we decided to pass on the boat ride but just walk on the other side with shops and more eateries. We're back on the road again tomorrow to Arizona.
