Filet mignon with béarnaise

12 Feb 2026 We hadn't been by in a while. Today, I ordered the roasted chicken and the husband the NY Strip. Mine comes with mashed potatoes and the husband went with the beefsteak tomatoes. Water and iced tea for drinks. The chicken was fine. The mashed were thinner than what I'm used to. The husband's steak while good, was a little tough. A bit disappointing. The service was terrific. Showed up with refills before we even realized we needed them. We'll give them another try soon.

Today was good. As always I really enjoy the pear martini .. it just refreshing with crystalized ginger. We went away from our norm and had prime rib with french fries. I love the shoestring fries. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The service was a little slow but he got all my subs perfect. The manager was super accommodating when I told her I was freezing.

Had a reservation with friends and we didn't like the seats given and the staff was so gracious and understanding in getting us seated together. The atmosphere of the restaurant was moody just the way it should be for dinner, dim lights but not too dim to where you can't read the menu. Let's talk food. I got the ribs, they were all off the bone tender . My husband loved his steak. A way to know if the food is good is total silence while everyone was eating. We will definitely visit again, soon .

The service was phenomenal. Miguel went above and beyond with everything we asked. The food was delicious and the ambiance was amazing. It wasn't overly crowded or too loud. We enjoyed it.

Stopping by J. Alexander's on Father's Day without a reservation and since the restaurant was packed, we had at least a 45-minute wait but luckily, I found some spots at the bar...whew, crisis averted. After looking over the menu I order the special of the day, medium rare with a side back potato and grilled carrots on the side. While waiting I also get an Old Fashioned and it was made just right so kudos to the bar tender. When my order came out, I noticed the steak was overdone and was medium well so I pointed this out to the server, and he agreed that it was overdone and that he would get another order fired up to replace this steak. When the server comes back, he apologies and informs me they have run out of the special of the day and asked if wanted another option. I told him that I would take the steak as it was as I was really hungry. Even though the steak was overdone, it was still very tasty as was the baked potato and carrots. Our server came back and informed me they had decided to comp my meal and once again offered their apologies. I told him I appreciated the comp and thank him and the management staff for making things right. Overall, the meal was good as was the atmosphere and staff. I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

Is it kid friendly?

I have seen kids in the restaurant, but it is certainly an upscale place and I have never noticed a kids menu. I think any place in the world is acceptable for kids if they are well-behaved. But this is not a place that has a McDonald's playground… Read more

Yes we have 4 outside tables. First come, first serve though

We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.

When I came up to the place it wasn't a sit down place to eat, but that you have to order which was confusing as there were a lot of other restaurants within the small space. And I place my order as it was Wednesday dollar day for wings so I order wings. I had the parmesan garlic, lemon pepper. Let me tell you they were so good, the wait was too long but worth the wait. It best to order online then go pick up. The restroom were locked so that is why I gave 4 and we weren't able to speak with no one. If you need any special thing or extras please write it I. Came across AguaChiles while scrolling TikTok and saw they were promoting their Pork Belly…read moreAguaChiles -- and I'm really glad we decided to check it out. We've been wanting to try something different from the usual, and this place absolutely delivered. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted promptly and treated with genuine kindness. Our waitress was polite, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire visit. To drink, we ordered a large hibiscus tea served in a mason jar. You can immediately tell it's made in-house -- incredibly fresh, with a subtle hint of lime. Easily one of the best hibiscus teas I've had, and far better than the powdered versions many places use. I wouldn't even hesitate to pay for refills. We also started with a Modelo (canned), crudo shrimp (2 pieces), Japanese peanuts, chamoy, and a sauce at the bottom of the plate that was unbelievably good -- likely one of their ceviche sauces. Whatever it was, it was packed with flavor. For entrees, my spouse ordered the Pork Belly AguaChile, and it was phenomenal. The pork belly was crispy, tender, and moist all at once, loaded with flavor. It came with a generous portion of very fresh guacamole, topped with julienned red onions and serrano peppers, plus four corn tortillas and a fresh salsa verde with the perfect amount of heat. My spouse isn't big on tortillas, so I happily made a few tacos myself -- no regrets. I ordered the Ceviche La Mamona, which included tender octopus, melt-in-your-mouth ahi tuna, perfectly cooked shrimp, avocado, onion, cucumber, tomato, and a black sauce that tied everything together beautifully. This was, without question, the best ceviche I've ever had. I've never been to Mexico, but this is exactly how I imagine it should taste -- incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced. They also serve it with crackers, tostadas, and two creamy salsas: one habanero and one jalapeño/serrano. Honestly, the ceviche alone could have been a full meal. If you're looking for generous portions, outstanding freshness, excellent service, and a truly memorable seafood experience, AguaChiles is the place. Next time, I'm coming back for the whole octopus, super tostada mixta, oyster preparado, queso flameado, fried oysters, and possibly a molcajete. I love food, and every meal here felt like an adventure.
