I had the tuna tartare as an appetizer. My entree was the caramelized sea scallops with risotto. Our server did a great job selling us on dessert. My mini key lime pie was yummy! Whoever hires the Hostess here needs to be fired. This is our second time coming where we have been rudely treated. How hard is it to look at us, smile, greet, give us menus and take us to a table? Instead this person did none of that and if it were not for half our party standing and waving we would never have known. This is after she told us they were here! Longer story but the climax was we wondered about a lunch menu, sent my daughter to ask and she gives her major attitude and only 1 menu for 6 ppl? While in San Antonio, TX I had a quick bite to eat at Seasons 52 at the Quarry shopping center. I had the wood-grilled steak tacos with guacamole and a green salad. While I'm not a huge beef eater, I decided to try the tacos based on the recommendation from my server. These street tacos were especially tender and enjoyable to eat. the guacamole was had chunky avocado and spicey flavoring. The salad was fresh and light. I had the turtle cheesecake for dessert. It has been quite some time. I love that they rotate some of the menu items based on seasons(yep I get it). This time we decided to go famiky style .. grabbing a few apps, sides and a salad. Ok... I am start by raving about the golden beet salad. Perfectly roasted beets, small pieces of goat cheese, arugula and a sweet, vinegar dressing. I could eaten that all day! Easily made reservations online for the day before Thanksgiving. Their autumn menu items didn't seem different from their summer, I saw many familiar items. Remember their menu is planned for all to be around 580 calories or less ! Ordered: Peach Riesling mule- yummy! Perfect in flavor Hawaiian cosmopolitan - enjoyed it, sipped slowly on mine throughout dinner Slow cooked meatballs- came with 3 large meatballs. This was my second time visiting Seasons 52 and I was really excited to bring my husband here. The first time I came was for a work meeting and everything was absolute 10 out of 10 and I was expecting nothing less than the same with this second visit. Unfortunately, this second time it was very lackluster. The food was either too salty or not salty enough. Our stuffed mushrooms with crab and shrimp tasted very fishy. We also ordered the Chilean Seabass, which also had a bit of a fishy flavor, it just did not taste fresh. Our roasted beet and arugula salad was delicious, the beats were nice and warm and the salad had a fabulous fresh flavor, I would have loved for everything else to taste that fresh and vibrant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is wonderful, very dim and intimate, great for a date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was excellent, she was very attentive and brought us whatever we needed, and even accommodated some bread for us, even though it was not included with any of our meals. Some friends suggested we go so we did - good call. Our server was great - just the perfect balance between overly attentive and under attentive - spot on. For appetizers we tried the meatballs. They were good - in a red sauce - flavorful but - nothing to write home about - just meatballs. It got markedly better from there! My wife decided to try the Brussels sprouts that were cooked with bacon and a really good sauce - very tasty. She also tried the Mac n Cheese which was also very tasty. I tried the cauliflower in some sauce - it was really tasty! For my main course I had the lamb (medium rare); the Yukon mashed potatoes and the French green beans. The lamb was prepared to perfection and the flavor was wonderful. The potatoes had a great flavor as did the green beans which were cooked perfectly. For dessert, they have a choice of 10 different glasses of different flavors or cakes, pudding, etc. difficult to describe but the pictures speak a 1000 words. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seasons 52 is a lovely, well designed and upscale restaurant in the Quarry shopping center.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food quality and taste is 10/10 for the main menu however after my kids tried 3 different kids menu options, they only liked the cheese flatbread (the Mac n' cheese option uses a white sauce and they just didn't care for the burger). However, I appreciate that kids can order seasonal soups for $6. I have dined at Seasons 52 twice recently. Once with a party of 3 and then brought my family - a party of 6 so we had a chance to try a wide assortment of food. I love every regular menu item I've tried, but especially the sesame salmon salad and the grilled artichoke and lemon hummus dip. The second time I dined and brought a larger party, there were several challenges with our server and I encountered looks and attitude from our server that did not match the restaurant's pleasant and elevated aesthetics. However, the main issue came from the incorrect bill for our food and drinks. If I would not have reviewed it, I would have paid $57 more due to inaccurate charges and drinks that were transferred from the bar but paid for at the bar (I was charged twice for these items). Also note, if you order dessert at the restaurant you are told it's $4 for each sample size dessert, but if you get it to-go then you pay $5 each because it's only served in a glass jar/shot glass. I share this because after ordering 5 desserts to-go, we learned this fact the hard way (through the bill and not verbally when placing the order). I didn't challenge the dessert discrepancy after getting the other issues on the bill resolved. Overall, food is great but in my experience the service is not as great. Back again for one of my friend's birthday lunches at her favorite place. We had an early reservation at 11am and I think there may have been only 2 other customers. I checked in and requested a table with Nelson as our server as the bday girl requested! I was the first one who arrived and he set down the menus, asked if I wanted a drink and within 5 minutes my friends arrived. He came by with a Happy Birthday plaque and shortly thereafter, came with glasses of sparkling wine for us to toast with and just like last year, made it special. I was pretty hungry and Nelson explained there was a Winter Menu so us gals sipped, talked and looked over the menus. We needed a few minutes but were able to order 2 flatbreads as starters--Mushroom and the Philly Cheesesteak. I asked about the Vineyard Chicken and Nelson said that was one of his favorites and that the chicken is I think braised for a long time so it's tender. Possibly the most poorly managed restaurant experience I have had in decades. We arrived and were told there would be a short wait for a table, so we went to the bar for a drink. I have genuinely never seen a bartender move so slowly. Ever. We placed our drink order and waited. And waited. No drinks. Not even water. When our table was ready, rather than offering to transfer the drinks to the table, the hostess asked that one of us go ahead while the other remained behind. My girlfriend went to the table while I stayed to wait for the drinks that never came. Eventually, frustrated, I went searching for her because no one had bothered to tell me where our table was located. I finally found her. She had been sitting there for approximately 15 minutes. Still no drinks. No water. No server. Meanwhile, the couple next to us at the bar, who arrived well after we did, had already been seated behind us, had their drink order taken, and were enjoying drinks from the bar. That contrast was hard to ignore. We continued to sit with no water, no acknowledgment, and no service whatsoever. After 40 minutes, we left and went elsewhere. Fortunately, we were able to find another restaurant on Valentine's Day, which is no small feat. The entire experience felt disorganized at best and dismissive at worst. It is difficult not to feel insulted when you are simply forgotten. A very disappointing evening. read more

I've visited at least 2-3 times a month for past few months. Typically for lunch but occasionally dinner service as well. 2-5 people in our group. We have successfully tried everything on the menu and Jane a few favorites but can say none were marked off as a never again. We've been greated friendly and promptly every visit. After so many visits many of the staff say hello which is a good sign they pay attention to their repeat guests. Seasons 52 is a solid addition to San Antonio's bustling Quarry Market, and our party of seven had an overall enjoyable experience during our recent Saturday night visit. Pro tip: make a reservation! The place was packed, but thanks to booking ahead, we were promptly seated upon arrival. The food was undeniably delicious, but the pacing of the service left room for improvement. We ordered four starters, and while two arrived quickly, the remaining two lagged behind by over 20 minutes, requiring us to check on their status. Similarly, when it came to entrees, some dishes reached the table a good 10-15 minutes before others, which was a bit frustrating. That said, the food itself made up for the hiccups. We started with the pepperoni flatbread and roasted tomato flatbread--both were hits! They were so good that one of our group members even ordered the flatbread as their main course. We also shared the Brussel sprouts and loaded potatoes which were solid choices as well. For my main, I opted for the pork chop paired with risotto for my entrée, and it was a standout. The chop was flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked, with a marinade/sauce that was just exceptional. Definitely a dish I'd recommend. Though I thought I couldn't eat another bite, their tableside dessert shooter presentation changed my mind--and I'm so glad it did! The cookies & cream and turtle cheesecake shooters were the perfect sweet ending: indulgent, but just the right size. Seasons 52 brings excellent food and a classy atmosphere to the Quarry Market, but a bit more polish on service flow would take the experience to the next level. The ambiance is great, our waiter Alex was the best. He was patient and very attentive. We went for lunch and ordered the pairing chipotle shrimp with lobster bisque and the fish tacos. The concept of the flat bread was good but the shrimp was dry and overcooked and there was too much chipotle sauce. The soup should've been called soup with a sprinkle of lobster. The soup had no taste, I added salt and pepper which I rarely ever do and that didn't help. The fish was extremely dry and the guacamole had no taste. I'm so disappointed. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, my beautiful wife and I decided to meet our wonderful friends, Brandi and Robert, at Seasons 52 for our monthly get together. We were greeted by friendly hostesses and sat at a perfect table where our amazing server,Calvin, took our drink orders and discussed Seasons 52's delicious menu. My first impression was that we were in a very nice restaurant with a very inviting atmosphere and a semi limited menu. I personally prefer smaller menus because they let me know the chef and kitchen staff are specializing in various dishes rather than mass producing everything they can think of. I had the crusted lamb loin with Yukon gold mashed potatoes. The lamb was cooked perfectly medium and unbelievably flavorful. Desert portions were small but actually the perfect size to complement a perfectly portioned meal. NEVER in my life have I ever had such a terrible dining experience than I did last night at this place. Let me preface by saying that I have worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years. Worked my way from hostess to general manager. In management I worked both the front of the house and the back of the house. As an hourly employee I worked every position from busser, server to bartender. I state this simply to say I KNOW how a restaurant should operate. This is going to be a long read so if you have a short attention span keep scrolling. RAY gets the first shout out and not in a good way. He was one of two managers working last night. His lack of understanding on how to make a customer happy and resolve a problem does not exist in his DNA. He needs to be removed from his position and go back to the basics or find another industry to work in. Second shout out goes to my server Salina and I am less critical of her based on the management she works under. Her service COULD impeccable if she was less fatigued and spent a little more time at the table with her customers. Anyone could see she was exhausted and could not handle a troubled table. I have wanted to try this place forever. With work and travel I have not been able to. It was Friday night; I was exhausted and did not want to cook. Asked to be seated at the bar where there were plenty of open seats - were seated at a bar table anyway. Salina approached and was perfect. I'll skip to dinner. We ordered the artichoke appetizer, a bottle of lovely Cotes du Rhone and two entrees. Me - the filet mignon (MEDIUM RARE) and my friend the grilled scallops. I did not like the artichoke - I was expecting something else. It was basically cut down to the "heart" and had NO flavor. The hummus was good though. A few minutes after finishing the appetizer a food runner fly's by and drops our entrees. As he was running back to the kitchen I had to ask him to take our dirty dishes away and get me a steak knife. Cut into my steak and it was rare. I mean gummy chewy rare and bleeding rare - not warm center. I took one bite and asked for my server. Salina came by, took my steak back and sent the manager (RAY) over. He asked how he could help. I prefaced my conversation with him stating I was not looking for anything for free. Just wanted my steak cooked as ordered. He said he would take care of it and asked how everything else was. Few minutes later (manager) Ray also fly's by and drops my steak. Doesn't hang back to see if it was cooked correctly and never appears again. It was still rare. The kitchen threw the steak back on a hot grill ON ONE SIDE ONLY burned the crap out of the outside and it was still rare (blood on the plate). I am saying a silent prayer for this poor cow who died needlessly as the steak was not edible. Salina took it away. I did eat the sides - mashed potatoes and four asparagus spears. I was hoping for an adjustment on the steak as it was NOT eaten. Friend later brings up she found a plastic stick in one of her scallops. Didn't tell me because of the drama I was experiencing with my food. Salina later revealed the scallops are on skewers and a piece of one of the skewers obviously was left in a scallop. I felt it and it could have broken a tooth. Ordered dessert as I was still hungry. It was a pecan medley which was fabulously sweet. It is served in a cold shot glass and I had difficulty getting the dessert out. A smaller spoon needs to be provided. Salina brings the check at my request and I see Ray has taken the price of the artichoke and scallops off of the bill but my steak remained. WE ATE the artichoke and she ATE the scallops. There was NO expectation for a refund of those items. When I asked for Ray to come to the table he said - and I quote - "I thought you didn't want anything for free." He took the check back - zeroed it out with the exception of the wine and placed it on the table. He then said "just pay for the wine and be done with it." Seasons 52 is owned by the Darden Group. This group has several concepts - too many to list - please look it up. Never in a million years would I have expected such a terrible experience, but I did. This is a great restaurant! I love small plates, you get such a potpourri of favors. Strawberry Salad, pepperoni flat bread, tuna tartar, scallops, meat balls and the list goes on. Great service and ambiance. read more

Had dinner here for the first time the other day and I thought it was great! I was sat immediately in the bar booth area and since I had never been there before, the server went over the menu and highlighted the fact that they are a health conscientious restaurant. Everything was under 1000 calories. I ordered the pineapple cosmo, farm house soup and 6oz filet mignon with Maine lobster tail. For dessert I got this chocolate s'mores thing. The cocktail was really good but it was pretty sweet so I squeezed two lemon wedges to make it perfectly balanced. The food was very good! I loved the soup. I thought it had good flavor and texture was perfect for a chilly night. The entree was delicious. I had to add salt and pepper but I actually appreciated the fact that my meal wasn't saturated in salt to begin with. It allowed me the opportunity to season my meal just how I like it. The filet was cooked PERFECTLY! I ordered medium rare and it was beautiful. The lobster on the other hand was an annoyance. The kitchen needs to learn how to properly butterfly a lobster tail. I went in with my fork expecting to be able to easily lift the meat from the shell to cut and eat and quickly realized they never peeled the meat from the shell. The entire length of the meat was secured to that shell so I had to use my hands to pull the meat from the shell getting seasoning and butter dripping down my palm. I know that doesn't sound like a big deal but I would have preferred to not have had to do all that. The lobster had good flavor but was slightly over cooked. The dessert was bomb. I loved every single bite. I can't remember what it was called but it was a s'mores, chocolate mousse cake thing lol it would've went perfectly with an espresso martini. I didn't see the restaurant side since I was seated in the bar section but it looked pretty nice. I just wish they had TV's that people in the bar section could actually see.
