They used to have a great sommelier who was fun , knew his stuff and always engaging - now I almost feel like I am bothering them by dining. To be fair, it's skeleton staff which worked as we were there at lunch but as the Pearl was crowded - no clue how they would cope with a large crowd as even we came close to leaving and going somewhere else twice : One when we were handed a paired down menu - my husband has always loved their beer list as they have some rare finds and at first it appeared that was gone - but they do have a full menu and he found some good picks! And second when we almost gave up on the next round! That said is a beautiful space with so many great wines - I enjoyed their bubbles flight ( it's not on the menu but they do offer to curate flights based on your likes) , my husband found some stellar beers and we enjoyed a cheese / charcuterie plate and flatbread! Will still always love coming here and recommend it but it's not as fun or inviting as it used to be !

I especially loved the outdoor seating area -- it added so much to the atmosphere and made the whole experience feel relaxed but upscale at the same time. The drinks were delicious, the customer service was great, and overall the food was good. The burrata was just okay for me personally, and the tomato soup could've used a little more flavor. I also think I probably would've enjoyed the experience even more if I had chosen a different entrée this time around. One thing I would definitely recommend is expanding the menu a bit because the spot itself is so nice that I'd love to see even more options offered. Overall though, I really liked this place and can't wait to come back and try more items next time!

Generous. The kind of meal that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate your life choices. It felt like a warm hug in food form. Every dish had that homemade, seasoned-with-love energy that you just can't fake. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming--perfect for catching up with friends or treating yourself after a long day of being amazing. Only warning: You might start planning your next visit before you even leave the parking lot. I know I did.

The hummus with the fresh pita was probably my favorite part of the meal, and the grilled skewers had a really nice char without being dry. The Turkish coffee was also strong and really good. Service was quick and servers paid attention to detail. Great place for date night or hanging out with friends. Plenty of great food options to choose from. Glad I tried it because the quality was amazing!

Loved the roasted beets with candied pecans and just a hint of dill. It was a nice combination of sweet, savory, fresh, and a little herbaceous. Loved the zaalouk because the eggplant had such a nice roasted flavor. Lamb ribs had a bit of a dry crisp on the outside followed by tender bits inside. Very good with the tzatziki. This was served over a refreshing a salad with saffron threads which added a nice layer of flavor. Tomato salad was simple and fresh. Also had the Tirshi, a butterscotch squash which kind of fell flat for me. It just didn't seem to hold up to the others in terms of flavor. Never had a butterscotch squash (not sure if that was even just a typo) but was expecting a velvety, sweet butternut squash but it wasn't. Apple compote pastry was very good--flaky on the outside, soft inside with a yummy apple compote center that was just the right amount of sweetness for me. Service was generally good. Everyone was friendly. Pace of my food was reasonable. Waiter was knowledgeable. The only hiccup was I ordered a black tea but was served an herbal one. I didn't say anything and drank it because it was good either way. I was also surprised I wasn't asked about any food allergies. Liked the vibe. Felt like you could come casual or a little dressed up and you'd be good either way. Overall a win and would recommend. If I'm in the area again I'd go back to try other things.

I came for dinner and left emotionally attached to the menu. Service was friendly, fast, and made me feel like a regular--even though it was my first visit. Bonus points because no one judged me for contemplating a second entrée "for research purposes." Would I come back? Immediately. Would I recommend? Already have. They're clearly going for a club-style omakase vibe with music, darker lighting, and a smoky atmosphere. It's cute that they tried to blend a nightlife feel with sushi. For me, it didn't quite land, but I can appreciate the attempt. Service was impeccable. The team was warm, attentive, and professional throughout the night. The food was decent for the price, but the flavor curation felt off. The soup tasted like bland water. The poke/nacho was okay but leaned too salty. The salad felt like a basic garden salad tossed in as an afterthought. The fish itself was fresh, which matters most for sushi. Where it struggled was in execution and timing. The nigiri was made all at once for the entire group instead of paced out. Sushi really should be eaten within a certain window, and by the time we got through everything the flavors started blending together. The seasoning also felt inconsistent. At one point the chef zested too much lime on several pieces which left a bitter note and pushed citrus onto dishes that didn't need it. It felt like the kitchen was vibing more with the music and DJ energy than carefully building flavor profiles. Overall, good fish and decent sushi, but the curation and taste balance are missing. The ambiance seems to be the main focus rather than the food itself. Still worth trying once. It's a fun concept and a good night out. I just don't think it's the place that will put San Antonio on the sushi map yet.
