My husband and I went for a day date and it did not disappoint. The ambiance is great - really intimate, like you're visiting a friend's home. There's also outdoor seating but we stayed inside. The wine was delicious, from the dry to the dessert wines, ALL flavorful. But the very best part was chatting with the co-owner, David. It was like we were old friends picking up where we left off, except we just met! Cozy, inviting and in a cute part of Helotes. Hubby and I will make this a regular destination. We highly recommend Dawson's Creek Winery for casual relaxation but they also do events. We didn't try the charcuterie but will next time. The tables, vibe, personnel etc. are all wonderful. Everything about it is really great, except... As they are quick to point out, to the extreme of even having almost a "doorman" at the door to let you know before even entering: There's no grapes in this place, nor any wines made from grapes. It's all made from flowers and nectar. This company didn't invent this technique, but while they seem to do a good job at it, the wines, and I tried three different ones, just aren't my thing. The best one was a peach flavored one being served in a hot beverage on a chilly evening, which was nice, but had a lot of sugar in it, more of a hot toddy. Glasses of "straight up" wine on a subsequent visit just didn't do it for me. Bottom line, if you've got an open mind, definitely try this place. I'm glad I did, and again, it's a great place to meet up and relax, with a great atmosphere. Maybe the wines will appeal to you more than they did to me.

There was a ton of people on the deck, my guess over 100 people. Everyone was bright and cheerful for obvious reasons. They hook it up with sales the more wine bottles you buy. They had everything from California, down to chile, up to Washington, across to Spain & France, back to Chile. The format is pretty simple, they give you a paper and pen with all the options. If they do it again, def check it out. It's a unique experience. Make sure whoever is going in your group to sign up because they weren't doing any one-off pours for people not participating in the event.

The vibe is super cozy in that "let's sit here for hours" kind of way. My friend and I grabbed a corner couch and somehow lost track of time (in the best way.) The staff? Amazing. I'm not exactly a wine expert, and they were so patient and helpful walking me through the list and finding something i enjoyed. You can tell they genuinely care about making sure you enjoy what you're drinking. Also low key one of my favorite parts were the other patrons. Everyone there was just...nice. It had that welcoming, neighborhood feel where you don't feel out of place, even on your first visit. I noticed they do things like tasting Tuesdays, plus events and pop-ups throughout the week, which makes me even more excited to go back. I live less than 5 minutes away and had NO idea this place existed - so consider this your sign to go if you're also nearby.
