The Short Rib is kind of small, which was expected. The amount of meat relative to the amount of bread was high, but the whole sandwich is kind of small for $14. The flavors are good--slightly sweet but savory meat that is easy to pull apart. I also ordered an add on of short rib on the side, and for $5.50, it was a rather small portion. It comes in a cute box and the staff was super nice and offered water while I waited for my order. It's located in the Ballston Quarter food court area.
I didn't even know I was craving an Italian sub until I saw it on the menu, but it was meant to be because this was a damn good sandwich. And it came with waffle fries, which normally aren't my favorite but these slapped. I overlooked this spot on past visits to Ballston quarter but I won't be making that mistake again.
I have seen this spot in the Ballston quarter mall so many times but finally stopped by today! I got the short rib sandwich with waffle fries and a side salad. I used inkind to pay since they're on the app, so I get an additional 20% cashback. Everything was so delicious. The sandwich was bigger than I thought it was going to be from other people's pictures. The bread was so soft and a little sweet, almost like a Hawaiian roll. The short rib inside was like pulled short rib and super tender. The mashed avocado added an element of creaminess and the arugula cut the fattiness perfectly. Solid!! And the waffle fries were just like the ones I had growing up in NYC - I have been LOOKING for waffle fries like these everywhere. I'm so happy now that I've found them!! Also I think it was the owner who helped me, but she was sooooo sweet. Offered us cups of water and everything as we waited for our orders to be prepared. Can't wait to return and try more sandwiches, fried Oreos, and cocktails all of which sounds really tasty as well!!
Excellent, excellent, excellent! Literally the best steak and cheese sandwich - the bun was buttery and fluffy. Their cocktails are def strong but perfect with their sandwiches! Brook is the best - she's so kind and is super accommodating! It's located within Ballston Quarter in the back so don't miss it!
I got the Superette Italian and while it wasn't bad, it wasn't amazing either. I loved the meats they used but the ratio of everything felt off . Biting into the sandwich I either got a bite of meat, lettuce, or mayo but those three never truly matched up. The bread was a bit too soft and needed to be toasted to add some texture to this. The fries were ok, standard waffle fries but these were overcooked and a little bland. The Mozzarella sticks were ok but I don't think that they were quite worth the $10 price tag. One other thing I didn't like was that there weren't any buzzers or a place to put in your number to get notified when your order is ready. This is inside of food court and the restaurant is kind of tucked away in a corner with not a lot of seating. Staff call out your name when your order is ready but I feel like unless you can find seating around the area it's not ideal. Overall it's not bad but definitely could use improvement.
I came across a great place! I had a little time to spare and noticed they offered cocktails. I tried the Whiskey Sour and waffle fries. Yuliana made one of the best Whiskey Sours I've ever had. Make sure to visit her when she's working. She is absolutely wonderful!
I had a steak and cheese sandwich here, which was like a Philly cheesesteak. The sandwich was really good and I liked the waffle fries too. The cocktail I had was refreshing and went well with the sandwich. The restaurant was in a food court so the atmosphere was casual. The service was great. I would definitely recommend the sandwiches here.
I had maybe one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had here- and in a town of great breakfast sandwiches that's a high bar! I love that they're served all day, too! Superette has a great sandwich menu with a few different side options- I went with a hash brown, but you could also do fries or chips. It's located on the bottom floor of the Ballston Quarter food court, and there's a good amount of seating around the counter. You order at a kiosk with tablets and then your name/order is called- they also offer a cup of water with your sandwich which was appreciated. I'd come back to try other sandwiches- but I'd probably just end up getting the breakfast sandwich again :)
Yum, yum, and yum! We got the short rib sandwich which was slow cooked with curry and had a very ambiguous almost lamb-like flavor - different and delicious. We also had the Reuben which may be my all time favorite sandwich. Every Reuben is either good or better and this one was better even though it could've used a bit more sauerkraut. And finally the BLT-ish, which I wouldn't even really say was "ish" because the bacon was overshadowed by the tasty pork. BLTs seem to shine due to their simplicity and this was a little too complex to qualify, but that's exactly my style anyways. The prices were just right for a nice cafeteria setting in a heavily transited area of Arlington. You really can't go wrong. Btw go for the fries over the salad for both portion size and quality.
We recently had date night at Ballston Quarter Market and sampled through several establishments. This one was our favorite. The short rib sandwich is deeeelicious and packed with flavor! The ancho-braised & pulled short rib was so tender and juicy. It paired really well with the bitter arugula and creamy avocado. I also really liked the bread, which sandwiched all the fillings together perfectly and without any of the filling spilling out. I got the waffle fries as a side and they were crispy and perfect potato-to-fry ratio. We also tried the sangrias - red for him and white for me. This was a blend of wine, brandy, passion fruit, lemon, simple syrup and aromatic bitters. Very refreshing and delicious as well. Will definitely be back!
So I got this SUPER NICE note from Arris, one of the partners at Superette. So, while we still are doing a remake on the Ruben- the way they handled the interaction, is completely worth a +1 in my book. It means they CARE about the food, service and ambiance here. And who wouldn't want them to succeed! (I sure do!)

Heard great things about the sandwiches at this food stall inside Ballston Quarter and decided to give it a try. I got their signature Short Rib Sandwich. Braised shor rib is topped with Gruyère cheese, avocado, arugula and chipotle aioli. A very rich and tasty sandwich, great for a quick bite!

1 word: AMAZING! This is by far one of the best meals I've had in a while! They offer a steak & cheese w/ fries combo for $10 that's totally worth it. The sandwich tasted great, the steak was nice and tender- they did not skimp on the meat either. The onions were sautéed very well, complemented each other well. The drink was $9. Typical 1 drink size that you'd normally get. Probably overpriced- wouldn't buy it again. It was very good though and pretty strong. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant. Located on the C level in Ballston Quarter. I'll definitely be going back for food! read more
I'm giving Superette 10 stars! Not only is the food really good, but customer service is absolutely top notch. I honestly didn't expect much with regards to customer service because Superette is located in a shopping mall (specifically a food court). I ordered the Caprese sandwich with fries, while my s/o ordered the Steak and Cheese sandwich with fries. The Caprese had a delicious pesto, and the employee recommended a side of hot peppers- those added nice heat to the sandwich! The Steak and Cheese came out hot and delicious. I honestly don't think photos of these sandwiches do it justice!! These sandwiches are delicious! They also have tasty treats and drinks. I would definitely give them a try! Thank you Superette for your kindness and yummy food! I will be back!! read more

I frequently visit the Ballston Quarter for lunch but never tried Superette. I am so glad I decided on trying it today. I was hesitant because I recently tried a new place there and it didn't live up to the social media hype but Superette did! I placed my order at the counter and the lady was very pleasant. My food came out quickly. I ordered the Steak and Cheese with waffle fries. It was really tasty. The bread was toasted but still soft and the fries were crispy and perfect. I definitely recommend Superette! Looking forward to returning to try their other menu options. read more

I am generally a fan of this place and would say that the avocado salad is quite food. However, I do have to say that the app that they promote is really not that great. They try to loop you into purchasing more for a bonus only to realize that you can't combine cash with balance in your account. So you're stuck with constantly having to sustain a balance which is really not ideal. The sandwiches are fine but this left a bad aftertaste. read more
I'm already looking forward to coming back for another cheese steak! The avocado arugula in the short rib brought delicious balance. I'm also really impressed by the cocktails! I didn't expect to have so many drink options here. The Qué Chido was perfect for a hot summer day, had a little kick of the heat from jalapeño but was ultimately incredibly refreshing. This was also my first experience with deep fried Oreos... wow. The only reason I could share them was because I was filled up on my sandwich. Fries are the perfect level of crispy, I'm come back just for fries to go. The service here was especially noteworthy. Michelle and her team were wonderful! I enjoyed watching the care she put in to mixing up my drinks and answering any questions I had about the menu. The Superette team made me forget that I was in the Quarter Market on a bustling Friday night. Their location in the market is fantastic because the tables are spaced away from the other venders. Plus the potential for bar seating! My only regret is not getting the Frosé!! Will be returning soon. read more
They're located inside Ballston Quarters and you can't miss their cute neon pink sign! They're best known for their artisan sandwiches and cocktails, but don't skip out on dessert. Mozzarella Sticks - Fried and cheesy perfection. The Short Rib - Loaded with food and flavors. I'm a sucker for a good short rib. Whisky Punch - Super refreshing and packs a good punch. Que Chido - Great if you're looking for some spice in your drink. Fried Oreos - Fluffy and delicious! You've got to save some room for this sweet treat. read more

Superette is the latest arrival to Ballston Quarter's Ballston Market, a great collection of local restaurants and food stands. Superette specializes in hot, fresh sandwiches that are packed in cute boxes. While it's clear that Superette pays attention to well crafted, good food. There are some improvements I'd like to see with service and the menu edges a bit on the more expensive side. I've ordered ahead there twice and walked up and ordered once. Both times I've ordered ahead I would have to wait an additional 15 minutes for my order after arriving 20-30 minutes after ordering. Both times were at non-peak quiet times. My walk-up experience was better. Their sandwiches are a little bit on the smaller side. The Ruben and Cubano are solid choices. Each has the feel of an artisan, handcrafted item. Everything has nice and in its place. Of course, it all tasted great. Most recently I tried their BLT-ish sandwich and that is my new fav: I don't know how they did it but the cut of pork taste just like bacon but in a more substantial package. The fries were nice and seasoned, no complaints there. A recent meal came with a dessert and a sangria, to me that gives it a better value but with sandwiches coming in around $15 it is on the more expensive end. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would but I am looking for a little bit more value before I can give it another star, however there's nothing sticking out that would stop me from continuing to try it- just not as often. read more

I'm giving Superette a 4 out of 5 stars. I was excited to try this after seeing a lot of food bloggers post about it. I ordered The Short Rib. It had really great flavor, but was a tad dry. I know with that kind of meat it's hard to keep it from getting dry, though. I chose the ranch chips with my sandwich. They had great flavor too, but were a little stale. I'm giving Superette 4 stars because the flavors are great. And they are a pretty new place so I have no doubt they will work out any issues they have present. read more

Craved a sandwich and was really excited to try this spot given the reviews. I must have caught them on a bad day but the Chicken & Cheese Philly seemed a bit dry and not much meat. However, A little hot sauce livened it up to be a little more tastier. The fries were hot and seasoned just right but my next must try are the home-made chips! Will be back to give it another shot and to try one of their many other choice sandwiches. Enjoy! read more

I first heard about Superette after winning a gift card on Instagram for their location. I was amazed at how good a sandwich would be! They also have amazing froze's all year round (great for the summer time). Service is quick and they're all super friendly. Would definitely recommend and I've for sure returned several times! read more

Short Rib Sandwich. It was delicious! The only issue I had was that the wrapping paper gets stuck with the cheese. It pulled all the meat out. The hand cut potato chips were too salty for my taste but were fresh. read more
Sooooooo good, 5 stars out the bag. Staff is absolutely phenomenal and the frozé & sangria is delicious. I really want to try the chips and dip next time I come but this time I had a Philly cheesecake and the short rib sandy with waffle fries and everything came out so good! The short rib itself was cooked very well and I would totally eat it in as an entrée in a dish. Overall it's also just such a cute place, the aesthetics and light really sell it. Highly recommend and will definitely be back soon! - IG @ SpicyAivy read more

Is it possible to give a restaurant more than five stars because I would!! The service was amazing but, most importantly, the sandwiches are incredible!! I never knew this existed but my Husband found it and, after a disappointing dinner at Michelin-rated Crane's the night before, I was hesitant to try a new place. Superette made the "Let's try a new place" experiment fun. Why is the food good? Temperature was spot on. We got the Short Rib because that was everyone's favorite dish, and it arrived promptly. Short rib melted like butter, and somehow the bread was firm but still softly accessible. I loved the taste with just enough grease to let you know you weren't eating healthy. We got the avocado on the side and I prefer it that way. Also, if you don't order the Fried Oreo's you are going to miss out. I grew up in Dallas so went to a lot of State Fairs, aka lots of fried foods, and this was the best I've ever had. The fried portion was light and NOT greasy. There was separation between the fried dough and the Oreo. Just amazing! Can't wait to go back!! read more
Very nice and cute sandwich shop. I got the Cubano sandwich and plain potato chips, which were both very good. The staff were nice as well. A little on the pricey side, though, but worth a try. The food portions are fairly generous, too. read more

The best tasting food and deal in the food court, and I only tried three different places in the food court. That's how confident I am w this place. Taste 9/10. Price is 10/10. Most other places in the food court are like 7/10 taste w a 5/10 price. Get any sandwich you want and I'm positive it will be good. I forget which sandwich I got but the meats were juicy and very flavorful. The amount of chips you get is more than enough. A sandwich + chips/fries/salad is 10-12$ which is a steal in this area. read more

Excellent experience and service. Great sandwiches and fries, and a lot of food for the price. It was not 5 o'clock, so no cocktails, but I did try one of their craft cocktail syrups. I tried the one they use in their old fashioned and it was delicious. They need to bottle this syrup and sell it! I had a Cuban sandwich and fries, which I got to go. Everything was hot, fresh, generously portioned, and nicely packaged. Plus, the folks working there were so friendly and accommodating. They got my order together quickly and exactly as ordered. I highly recommend this place. It's not that hard to find if you're familiar with the lower level food area at Ballston Quarter. read more
Giving Suprette a respectable 3* only because after trying their Cuban sandwich I was left wanting more. More flavor, more attention to detail and more authenticity. I try to go into similar non-traditional sandwich shops with an open mind and patience however it is difficult to denounce the expectation of an authentic Cubano sandwich when a restaurant claims to produce a Cubano sandwich. There is only one way to produce a Cubano sandwich. Not that this one wasn't good, however it didn't yield any authentic vibes. The bread was too thick, the meat overly minced and the flavor and moisture of the spreads were simply masked by the unbalanced ratio of bread to meat. I just could not quite experience the flavor of this sandwich as I wanted to because the bread was simply too much. It wasn't pressed well as you'd normally expect from a traditional Cubano sandwich. I did also try the deep fried Oreos which were a sweet treat. Overall an OK experience. If I am in the area again I'd like to give them another try and hopefully some of the interest will be sparked that I once had prior to my first experience. read more

Recently, we found this market located at the basement of Ballston Mall. We planned to have our brunch at Superette. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They made excellent recommendations. So, we tried The Reuben, Steak and cheese sandwich, Avocado toast, and Portobello Shroom Burger. SO DELICIOUS! SO YUMMM! We also tried 2 flavors(Bbq and sour cream) from their housemade chips as well. So crispy and flavorful! We loved everything we ordered, really enjoyed our brunch. We would definitely be visiting Superette again! read more

Place was completely dead on a Tuesday evening. Food was somewhat cold and the presentation was less than ideal. Steak and cheese sandwich had decent taste but did not live up to the yelp reviews. Would likely not try again. read more

Super friendly service here. Hadn't been to Ballston forever and was happy to try Superette. The short rib sandwich was great, especially with the pairing with arugula. I got the housemade chips and got sour cream and onion. So delicious. The bread was especially good and nice and toasted. My lunch mates loved their burger and steak and cheese with fries as well. Stop by if you haven't already. read more

Came to Superette on two different occasions and tried a Friday of sandwiches, including the short rib, steak and cheese, blackened chicken, as well as the sides (fries, chips, salad, and mozzarella sticks). Out food was piping hot, fresh, and made to order so the wait was a few minutes but worth it for the freshness. Even the salad was fresh and tasty! Overall love Superette and a place we plan to come back to eat at. It's tucked in the back of Ballston Quarter but worth checking out. The wrappers of the sandwiches get slightly oily but it's tasty! read more
