    Hot oil and pepperoni pizza
    Rose S.

Solid spot for pizza and a beer. They're known for their hot oil, so I tried it with pepperoni and thought it was good! It's a very interesting thin crust style - hadn't had anything like it before but it hit the spot. There's a variety of seating, including an upstairs section which I had never noticed as a pedestrian walking by. The menu is pretty straight forward... it's just pizza. I appreciated that they had a variety of sports on to watch (gymnastics, hockey, and some weird game show where people climb up what appears to be a slippery bounce house lol). Would return again!

I've heard great things about Colony Grill's "hot oil" pizza and that they make one of the best pizzas in the DMV. I think that can be true if you enjoy the pizza when dining in. I ordered a pizza to-go for a "take out potluck party" this past Friday on Uber Eats. Everything got to me perfectly fine and the pizza was packaged in a sturdy box. PIZZA - 11.95 +1.95 for hot oil +3.90 for 2x sausage +3.90 for 2x mushroom On Uber Eats, the pizza was 14.34, +2.35 for the hot oil, and +4.70 for the toppings. By the time we opened it up to enjoy the pizza (~1 hour after delivery), it was a bit soggy. There were plenty of toppings (since I did order extra for both), the hot oil provided a bit of spice, maybe? The dough itself was thin and a bit flimsy. It would have been nice if the freshness of pizza lasted longer than this. Overall, nothing extraordinary and almost boring. Some of my friends enjoyed it, though. If I get pizza at Colony Grill again, I'll probably enjoy it dine-in to make sure I eat it when it's as fresh as possible.

Love this pizza!!! Service and environment are great too. Sports are always on and the servers are attentive!

Pizza is great. I'm a big fan of thin crust pizza and Colony grill has very thin crust pizza. Each pizza is large but I recommend getting 1 per person. The service is very quick and friendly and the manage came and visited and was very friendly as well! Nice place for pizza and beer with lots of TVs in the bar area. Something to note is it's only pizza and salad served there, but if you're going for a pizza and beer kind of night. This is a good spot to go!

15 Mar 25 Update: Colony Grill was a perfect stop to celebrate St. Patty's Day weekend when other local Irish pubs were packed. We ordered a couple Smithwicks and Guinness along with their corned beef and cabbage pizza special and another pizza with sausage, onions, mushrooms, peppers, cherry hot peppers and hot oil. Everything was great. Thanks!

We saw the shamrock on the sign so thought this might have some Irish dishes like bangers and mash or shepherds pie, but alas no. This was a quick stop to grab dinner while we were in the area before heading home late so this will be a quick review. The only food they serve is pizza. If you're serving only one item, then it better be good. Luckily, it was. I rather like thin crust pizza and I did like this with meatballs, mushrooms, and onions. I like the crispiness of the crust. It made holding it easy to eat. Service was also good. Street parking or a nearby garage.

This pizza was AWESOME! it was great thin crust pizza. We got three pizzas for four of us (two teenagers). Our waiter was very friendly and answered all our questions (What is a stinger? What is hot oil. How big are your pizzas?) The alcohol selection is fantastic. If you are visiting the area or live in the area, you need to stop by and get a pizza. There is street parking or a garage you can park in.

If you're in the area and looking for some good ole pizza, in a clean family friendly sports bar environment, with great staff and comfortable space, look no further. Our server apologized to us for overlooking our table, and the hostess apologized for the oversight and wait time despite them not being busy- those apologies and at the follow up attentiveness goes sooo far for us!! We did the gluten free dairy free option- and it was decent. I WOULD say- if they asked lost dog cafe where they get their gf crust from, and added their toppings then they'd have a hit on their hands !! Their blanco tequila option was solid and reasonably priced. I would be curios to take a bite of their regular pie and see what it's all about. It is ALL they do- so an interesting concept for sure !

First time trying this restaurant and Connecticut-style pizza. No idea how it compares to the classic Connecticut pizza, but for someone who grew up on NJ and NY pizza THE PIZZA HERE IS EASILY THE WORST I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Truly mind-boggling that someone can enjoy a thin layer of tortilla-like cardboard topped with a microscopically thin layer of sauce, tiny bit of cheese and an enormous spilling of oil!!! It is a flavorless cardboard with a ton of oil on top. Had the stinger pizza today and the peppers are indeed spicy, but there was zero flavor in anything, including the peppers they were only spicy not flavorful. The only reason I'm giving it a second star is because we really had fantastic service - the servers were wonderful, and the seating was comfortable, the restaurant is cleanI. If this is your thing - go for it!

Stopped in here for a quick lunch and a beer and was not disappointed. I got the pepperoni pizza with black olives and mushrooms, and found it was the perfect size for two to share. No leftovers here. Love the thin crust. Was perfect. Service was quick and friendly. What more could you ask, haha. Would certainly stop in again but would love if they added some apps . Can a girl get some chicken wings or mozz sticks haha. Ambiance is your typical clean bar setting. Did have a family friendly vibe as well and great cost point for a pizza. Pizza and beer in the DMV for 25 bucks. Yes please!

Colony Grill is such a fun place to hangout. The servers are all extremely nice and they have a bunch of big TVs to watch the game. The Guinness is always cold and the pizza is always hot. Their pizza is actually insanely good- super thin crispy crust that never flops. They have many toppings and variations. We love the margarita and the hot oil with sausage. Highly recommend checking them out.

They had a cute outdoor seating space, however it was cold and rainy so we couldn't sit there. We had the fried green tomatoes, snd both got the salmon with two sides of your choice. I got Brussels sprouts and potatoes. She got Mac and cheese and salad. The salmon was perfectly cooked and potatoes were crispy and salty on the outside and creamy potato on the inside. Yum!! We sat there until they were sweeping around our feet and they were very nice about it even then. I rarely close down a place these days, so I was grateful they were accommodating.

The wait wasn't long, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. They also offer a Monday-Friday happy hour from 4 PM to 6 PM, which is worth noting. Now that we've covered the positives... I came with my family, as we usually go out to eat on Sundays after church. I ordered the shrimp and grits, my sister had the dark‑meat chicken with fries, that unfortunately had to be switched when they brought her the wrong white meat, chicken and fries. My granddaughter got sausage and grits. There are no pictures of the food because I don't recommend you come here if you're looking for real southern food. I personally won't be back and won't waste storage space on disappointment. The shrimp and grits....the portion was so small, I thought they accidentally brought me the sample plate. It should honestly be listed under "Kids Menu". The menu says it comes with chorizo pork sausage, but instead of sliced pieces like normal restaurants, it was crumbled so tiny I thought it was seasoning dust. When I asked about it, they told me it's "put in very small so you don't know it's there." Well... congratulations. Mission accomplished. You get six shrimp, and they claim the dish is "spicy". Please, the spice level was somewhere between tap water and air. Then there was the chicken dish. I tasted it, and my sister will give you the full breakdown in her own review. The skin had a nice honey flavor, I'll give them that. But once you get past the skin, the chicken was out here playing hide‑and‑seek with the seasoning. Completely bland. The fries were fine, not great, not terrible, just fries. Now, the bathroom: I was unimpressed. When you walk in, there were paper towels on the floor and toilet paper in places it shouldn't be. The handicap stall does have a baby‑changing table and some extra paper towel and tissue supplies, which is helpful. However, the toilet seat covers in the handicap stall need to be replaced, even though the other stall had some available. Overall, the restroom did not feel well‑maintained. Great service can't make up for food and facilities that simply don't deliver. This was a disappointing visit, and I won't be back.

When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.

A very nice touch to add a stem of Rose for the women. I would say that I gave it a lower star rating not because the food was bad. It was actually delicious, but probably the experience itself. The restaurant felt chaotic, and even though all the tables were not completely packed of course there were flowers everywhere people gathering with grandmother's mother's children, etc We were seated in a two people table and all the top past dishes started to pile up very quickly. Instead of monitoring, the progress of the finished dishes and removing those dishes due to space constraint, the dishes came from the kitchen, almost on top of one another, and at one point I had to hold a dish in my hand in order to make space to put a dish on top of another flatbread pan/dish, making things super chaotic. Also dishes had to be put on top of the menu because in order to order additional food, you need to leave at least one copy of the menu at the table. Overall, again the flavors and taste were good, though I might have had similar dishes from other places, and my partner commented that some of it is actually very close to the Capital One landing at DCA. I would just say that it was more due to the chaos and just the way that all the dishes piled up on top of us we felt like we were we had to eat super quickly so that we could stack dishes ourselves and create room at the table.
