I'm about to chalk up most of the "bad" stuff to the fact they are still new and operating in a time where many restaurants are understaffed. I want this place to succeed but I hope they can smooth out some of the issues they have. We first came in here before a USA soccer game - we kinda rolled in not realizing the chaos would soon ensue. On Fridays they do all day HH starting at like 2 and I thought it was a fantastic deal, cheaper mojitos and orange crushes, etc. They have an awesome frosted mug and make a lot of their drinks fresh - we loved the mojito and the cherry limeade. We got a side caesar, korean boneless wings, and the buffalo chicken tenders. As others have noted, the portions are massive - we could have easily just split the tenders. The smallest portion of wings was more than enough for 2 meals, as was the side caesar. For the price you do get a lot of food. Service was quick at first but as the game started, things blew up. I completely understand and don't mind waiting to order drinks but while sitting at the bar we never got more water, our food was not bussed for over 1+ hour and it took a while to get a to go box. They ended up running out of large pints and of course, no more icy mugs but that was a given. It seemed they werent prepared for the rush during the Friday game and I felt bad for the staff because they were obviously trying their hardest. Now we came back another time, not during a game day and were hit with a heat wall. I am not sure if their AC stopped working but it seemed the floors were flooded behind the bar as they kept mopping up water. It was pretty empty on the Sunday but it took a while to order drinks while sitting at the bar - I feel like service at the bar should be quickest at the bar for drinks, no? We got the nachos which were massive and tasty so food quality is always nice. Again we waited like 30+ minutes for the dirty plates and food to be bussed, not sure why they don't really remove old food sitting in front of you for that long. read more

Great Fish Tacos, Happy Hour & Giant Chicken Tenders! Good food, lots of choices for various family members (kids to grandparents). If you order the Chicken Tenders you better be hungry! Largest & crispiest tenders l've ever seen. Even the Gish Tacos during both the lunch and happy hour menu did not disappoint. I have been here relive now and the food, portions and service has been outstanding! There is an out door patio space that is huge and can accommodate large parties. Gets noisy (I mean, it is a patio and even the bar area) but everyone still enjoy the food. I definitely give this place two thumbs up and recommend!! read more

Ambiance and drink menu looked great. This place was obviously overwhelmed and unprepared to deal with a group of 20 people. They gave us buffet style apps: Philly eggrolls those were awful as they came with ground meat and tasted like something my dog would regurgitate. Salad which was good with great dressing Crispy boneless chicken which was so crispy I wondered if it was safe to eat but surprisingly the meat inside was tender. Then came the short list menu items. They offered a cheeseburger with salad, a shrimp taco option, a sandwich stack, and something Philly again which I didn't dare brave. I chose the burger since it's a bar vibe I felt it fitting. It came with lettuce tomato and onion. But no sauce. I asked to swap my salad for fries which also were extra crispy and not edible. The burger was ok. I asked for spicy Mayo and was handed a bottle of hot sauce and one of mayo. Then I asked for ranch dressing which never arrived. I ate the burger dry. Half the party got served and the other waited until nearly our meals were done to get their food. read more

In all fairness, we arrived with a large party, of 14, on a busy Thursday night. They did the best they could to accommodate us, outdoor seating, but rainy and chilly night, again I get it. Food was really decent, I had sliders, others had tacos, chicken fingers, etc. Drinks were decent, Orange Crush, but very confusing, drink order was completely messed up, got drinks we didn't order, came out at different times. Biggest issue was (as we were told), Chef did not like the was fish tacos looked and decided to remake. Took forever, I had my dinner completed before my brother ever got his tacos. Most food was delivered at different times like that. Might try again with smaller group, might not. read more

Wood & Iron is my new favorite restaurant in the Arlington area. It has an upscale sports bar vibe with incredible food. I sat outside one night with friends and they have plenty of seats and TVs. This week I went with my friend and we did the combo meals because we both wanted their wings. Their wings are juicy and cooked to perfection with plenty of sauce/rub options. I loved the pineapple teriyaki and honey Sriracha. They have a ton of drink options too and even a juicer for fresh crushes. read more

Great experience overall, definitely plan on returning. We came for happy hour which was a great deal - 50% almost all the drinks and then various food deals depending on the day, definitely worth it. The servers were super informed, helpful, and friendly. The space is light-filled and comfortable; you don't feel cramped at all (a common issue in sports bars). We also caught the beginning of Tuesday Trivia (their first time doing it) and it was well-organized and fun- would definitely come back for the trivia. I got the Siracha Shrimp Tacos which were huge and totally worth the price. I also got the Gameday Light beer which was refreshing. I definitely want to come back and try their other beverages!! Maybe it was just because of the World Cup match but it was painfully loud inside which is why we asked to be seated outside. Service is solid and the portions are more than fair for the prices! Only weird thing is that for the bathrooms the sinks are outside/separated from the actual men's room (I assume it's the same for the women's room) which just doesn't seem hygienic or thoughtfully designed. read more

I came here twice in the last week when I was home visiting Arlington and DC. This is a new space right near the George Mason campus. Its really nice and big on the inside, its giving upscale sports bar vibes. My friend and I sat at the bar both times and our server Juan was amazing. As well as the bartender George. We ordered the fried chicken sliders, the egg rolls and the spinach dip. All very good! Better than just regular bar food you know!? Really delicious! They have great HH deals and specials and I think it will be great for an after work spot or a game day hangout. read more

Our group was so pleasantly surprised how amazing the food and drinks were. It was packed but the bartenders were on top of it. I have to give a shout out to George - he was helping every person. I'm assuming hes the bar manager ? He was helping literally every bartender and every waitress and every patron. We got our drinks and food FAST and so did everyone else around us. We ordered the steak and cheese flat iron and the signature corned beef Reuben. The waiter asked if lettuce and tomato was ok on that and we opted for the lettuce. The bill comes out and we got charged for the lettuce. The waiter did not let us know that the lettuce was an additional charge. As for the Reuben, we let the waiter know that there wasn't enough sauerkraut and he said that everyone says that, so we asked if we could get some more. Sure, no problem he says and brings out about 2 ounces. The bill comes out and there was an additional charge for that too and again, the waiter did not let us know that there was an additional charge. If you're going to nickel and dime your customers for everything, you should have the courtesy to let them know. It is a matter of principle and it's quite annoying. It really took away what seemed like a good dining experience and made it feel like we were being hustled. I will never go back and want to warn everyone to double check your bill before you pay. read more

A little dissapointed about the experience. Came to try it out for the first time on a Saturday. I ordered my food and waited for almost one hour and my food didnt come so i asked for the check (since i had ordered a drink). The bartender said to not worry about my drink since my food never came out. I thought that was fair. I checked my statement two days later and not only they charged me for the meal (a meal i never got) and drink, but they had the courage of adding tips (that i never authorized to my card). Highly dissapointed, will not come back but check your bill people read more

On a hot, sunny Sunday, we walked into seemingly the only restaurant with no patio action. (Just interpret every period as a red flag and you'll be on track.) Prices are high (half salads $18). We were expecting Champions sports bar food in this Gattica-styled cement, wood, metal building and that's pretty much what we got. Small, pale hush puppies were salty and tasted of seafood. They were served with a honey-flavored whipped topping they called butter, but it's so far from butter now they should have to call it spread. My Cobb Salad was a field of dandelion greens. I love a field greens mix, but if it's all the rough stuff, you really do feel like you're eating the lawn instead of a salad. Cold, flabby, not-crisp onion straws and bacon slices topped it - neither was edible. Even the water tasted chemical-ly. Trust the red flags. Also, if this place does ever heat up with bar traffic, it's going to be loud AF because of the materials used. read more

Our experience was 1st rate. We'll definitely be returning. Quality food and generous portions. I got the steak and cheese sandwich and wedge salad. I appreciate having a nice selection of sides to choose from. The sweet potato fries were probably the best I've every had! I requested the homemade limeade drink to be less sweet - it was perfect! Our server was very attentive and friendly. Most of the tables are high top, with lower tables in the back of the restaurant. It's nice that there is a choice of seating style. read more
