This Supercuts has a customer for life! From their luxurious deep-conditioning treatments to their cuts and color, I have always been impressed with my hair results. I'm always greeted with a smile when I arrive and (fortunately) can call ahead to avoid a wait. While I'm being helped, the girls always make sure I'm comfortable and taken care of 100%. My hair color was specially made by a stylist at this location a few years back and I constantly get stopped about my color. If you get a men's styled haircut, wouldn't get it from Britney. She didn't bother to show the back of my hair and when I got home, looked at the back and saw that it was completely messed up. Beyond uneven. Haven't cut my hair in months and it looks horrible. If you're not confident in a simple men's haircut, say you can't do it. Super disappointing. read more

This place is amazing!! First when you walk in you get a friendly vibe going. Everyone greets you with a smile and you can tell the atmosphere is so welcoming! You might want to call ahead to place your name on the list that way you can get a spot. I came in with an idea on how I wanted my hair. I always go to salons and they never get it right so I decided to try one last time. I got called up by Valerie! Oh my! Best hair stylist hands down! She greeted me with a huge smile and immediate after talking with her for 5 minutes I felt so comfortable! She made sure I was comfortable with the water temp (some hairstylist just do it and you have to tell them to cool it down or warm it up they never ask you, but Valerie did!) After my shampoo and rinse we went to do my haircut. She listened to my wants and saw the pics I had from Pinterest. Now normally any hairstylist would say yeah sure and then you regret how short your hair went or how it didn't go together. I wanted bangs and long layers. The hairstylist I went to before would just say yeah sure and just get their money. But Valerie took her time and explained to me how the two pics I showed her would really compliment each other! Thank you for the honesty Valerie because what you did to my hair is absolutely better than what I had expected!! Throughout the whole cut she made my experience amazing and we both kept laughing! So I've been going to the Montclair Supercuts for a little over 2 years and I can honestly say it's the best salon I've ever been to. Shanice is a wizard with bleaching me to platinum blonde and silver and I won't go anywhere else for color. Cuts are always great too... but what I'm currently obsessed with are the tea tree treatments!!! What you get: shampoo w scalp massage + hot towel w tea tree essential oil for your face. OMFG it's heaven- if you're there on a Tues (when it's only $7) and don't get it, you're a fool!!! Seriously if you haven't tried the tea tree thing, why do you hate yourself? Everyone is great at it but Sarah has magic fingers. 10/10 would recommend! read more

This place really ripped me off, she did not even consider that her haircut was not what I had even asked for. I payed $27.00 for a trim and fade and I can't even comb my hair and have to wait for it to grow back. And she just kept on cutting even when I told her to not cut so short. I really love coming here because of Janelle. I finally found someone who is detailed every step of the way and explains everything while she's cutting my hair and it always turns out great. With everything that's going on right now, they make sure to sanitize thoroughly. I took off one star because although the ladies were great, I think they really need someone in the front taking care of phone calls because she kept getting interrupted by other customers who wanted to come in and my cut took A LOT longer than it should've and it was a little frustrating. I call the day before "sorry no next day appointments". I try to book an appointment online at 8am-ish "cannot book before certain time". I show 20 min before opening, not a car in the lot. 9:00 I'm standing outside the door. I walk in "hi theres just a couple ahead of you". I asked how this could be. "They called before getting here". Very very nice staff. Short wait time. My stylist went a little high on my fade but next time I'll indicate to go lower. Sadly $20 is a lot compared to my old $8 fades and trim on top. Not sure why out here compared to the 818 haircuts are so pricey. $13 seems to be the going rate with $20 being super high. Don't care for a hot towel. This will be a back up if I ever really need a buzz. read more

I made my appointment for the first time visit and when I got there, they told me I have 1.5 hr wait! Ridiculous!! and besides those walk ins, apparently they put couple clients on the same appointment time! My husband comes here exclusively for his haircuts. Sometimes he comes home and says "Meh, they didn't do a great job". Recently, he's been getting his haircut from Yadira (I think that's her name, I'll correct it later if its wrong), she does a great job every time. Unfortunately, she will be moving in a few months so he's enjoying the last few months of great haircuts until that happens. Have been going here for years and having Maria cut my hair. She does a very professional job and would recommend her to anyone in the area. But be warned that she is very popular and her appointment schedule gets filled-up very fast. You usually need to make your appointment to see her, at least one day before you arrive (and there is a small "request" fee to designate her as your stylist for that day, but it is well worth it). read more

My friend did me a favor and took my son there in a desperate moment as my son needing a haircut. He's been there once before and the girl that did his hair that time did an amazing job that's why I'm giving it two stars other than that this place sucks. So yesterday he took him to the Supercuts and I'm pretty sure the girls name was Vanessa she had blue hair. Man did this brad f**** my son's hair up. He usually gets a comb-over with a skin fade. It was not even a fade it was such a harsh line there was so much random little batches of hair all over both sides of his head and the top she cut it so choppy and uneven it look like crap. This review is for the TRAINING STUDIO at the Montclair Supercuts which has a special event the last Saturday of each month - $5 haircuts, a steal! I accidentally stumbled upon the studio 2 months ago and am happy about the bargain. You'll come to the front door of the Supercuts but take a right down a hallway, then enter a nondescript white door to your left. Inside, it's crowded, friendly, and bustling. I personally prefer this to the cold competitive environment I have felt at professional salons. I've received good haircuts and service, and the price is unbeatable. Britanny, or as likes to be called Britney Spears , gave me the worst haircut in my whole lifetime. She is delusional and unprofessional, more occupied about talking and wanting someone to like them than rather give a good haircut. She basically left me bald because she was too lazy to give me an Ivy League haircut which is pretty easy considering paying 30.00 not including tip. Not only did I have a party to attend the same day I also have a birthday coming up in a couple weeks . If you go to France Brittany stay there , u suck at cutting hair and your lazy. I had held off cutting my hair for months and she cut off half my hairline with the machine. When she realized she messed up shy tried to brush it off. I had to wear a hat to a special family party, when , everyone gave me a hard time for wearing it and wanted me to take pictures without my hat . Britanny you ruined a special day for me and a whole month i have to see you don't know how to cut hair in the mirror. I felt like someone ruined my hair and payed them for it . I have had TERRIBLE experiences with Supercuts, but I was desperate and decided to give this shop a try. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by smiling, welcoming staff. The wait was not long at all. Dorian was the young lady that cut my hair. We started with a simple hair wash but throughout I was so relaxed I almost passed out! Then we went for the cut. Short layers and texturized throughout. Because of past experiences I was scared, but she did an AMAZING job. She listened to every request I made and because of that I will DEFINITELY be back to see her! I cant remember the last time my hair looked so good! She finished me up then showed me some great products to take home, which I did. ;) The whole experience was just so thorough. I cant wait to be back and pampered!! I went in today to get a color correction on my hair and came home with scalp burns. My scalp is red and burning from the bleach. I'm leaving a one star because I feel like the stylist should've been checking on my hair here and there to see if I was having any reaction I told her I felt a "hot" sensation on my head and she said it's normal because the bleach so I ignored it. I'm sure she could've noticed how red my scalp was because I seen it as soon as I got home. I've been places before where stylist have constantly checked on my hair I feel like I was neglected due to the fact in between me she was cutting other people's hair which would've been fine if she could've atleast checked in on my hair before going back to back with other people and waiting for a timer to go off before attending me. I've never had scalp burns I've been bleaching my hair on and off for 8 years now and never had this happen to me until today. Unfortunately didn't even end up with the color I wanted and left paying $197 with scalp burns & I felt like my stylist didn't know what she was doing I really wanted to give her a chance because she was so sweet but I wouldn't recommend I wouldn't want this to happen to another person it's painful. read more
