Karla has been doing my hair for almost five years. It is very difficult to find a good hairstylist, especially one that can cut short hair. I usually get a short bob, and I always get compliments on my hair. Karla is a great listener and will go out of her way to make sure you are absolutely satisfied with her service. So, my older sis cut my hair all my life. She moved out of state three years ago and I was so sad to 1, have to find someone else to cut my hair, and 2, sad to have to pay for it! But out I went to do the impossible...find a hair stylist that could do what she did for me all those years...a perfectionist that listened to and could deliver on your request. Needless to say, it was hard to trust anyone with my hair! So, I asked around to some of my mom friends and got all kinds of recommendations. Ironically, the specific stylist who was recommended initially was all booked up on the day I got some unexpected free time and needed to get in the same day. That is when I discovered another stylist named BRENDA; she was available. I decided to take a chance on her and I am SO GLAD I did! She listened carefully to what I wanted, gave me some feedback and totally did everything she promised. She is always so good about ensuring that you are happy before you leave too. This review is long overdue. I've been getting my hair done by Karla since 2020 when she brought my dream hair to reality (half red, half black). From our first meeting, her personality was very kind, warm and welcoming. I genuinely felt that I could put my full faith into her hands. And over the years she's obliged my requests regardless of how challenging they were. We've gone from warm to cold, from bright to dark and everything in between. The amount of work and care she puts into every client is astounding. Her techniques are very precise, and despite all the bleaching we've done -- my hair is not brittle and weak which definitely lets me know that the products she is using are high quality. She is also attentive to ensure each hair follicle is lightened adequately without compromising the hair. I also love that she is very willing to try different things and is not stuck doing the same look for every client which is awesome because it shows a level of confidence and authenticity in her craft. I also appreciate the honesty if there is ever any doubt in achieving a certain tone. There's times I might want a super light color after being very dark which isn't always realistic but she definitely does what she can to bring us as close to my goals as possible. I unfortunately will not recommend this salon. I requested a balayage and ended up with choppy, uneven highlights. Although my stylist was very sweet and kind, she did not give me what I wanted and my hair looks terrible. I had to go back in to get a touch up so that she could fix what she did wrong. It still doesn't look great - it looks like a diy attempt. If you don't know how to work with textured hair, say it instead of experimenting on someone else's hair. After getting my hair done here by Brenda, my self esteem has greatly increased. The salon is spacious and clean with very polite and professional staff, including Brenda. She was very communicative with me and was careful to listen to my hair needs while providing helpful input. My husband and I have been coming here for over a year now, and we drive almost an hour each way! The space is minimally decorated, yet feels sophisticated and inviting with its high ceilings and mix of natural/artificial lighting. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, I love how the stylists will compliment each other's work and hype each other up. It seems like a small thing but we always get offered a complimentary beverage (and sometimes even snacks!), makes us feel so VIP and pampered ok last but certainly not least, we see Kenny who is an incredible hairdresser/colorist, artist, and overall human. I don't even want to write his name because I treasure him so much and fear he will get booked out - but in all fairness, I do want to give recognition where it's due and Kenny is incredibly deserving of the highest accolades when it comes to skill, precision, and vision for one's hair potential and integrity. He's managed to erase our hair insecurities (for my husband, it's thinning hair and for me, it's premature graying), and use his eye and hands to create stunning coiffure masterpieces! Unfortunately my sister and i did not love the experience we had with roselena. She is sweet but may need to communicate better/need more experience. We both have gotten similar cuts from super cuts and very much regret spending the amount we did for these haircuts... My sister had an appointment before me and wanted wispy bangs/short hair with layers. Roselena didn't confirm nor show my sister the length she was cutting to until she already finished so my sister was unsatisfied and had to ask her to cut a different length several times which took up extra time. By the end of the haircut, roselena seemed impatient and gave her some layers and bangs without even asking how long the layers should be or w/e nor about how short or how full she wanted the bangs to be. Cutting the hair took almost 1hr while she rushed the bangs and layers. Somewhat unprofessional imo. Then i had my appointment right after(regretful i didn't get to ask my sister how it went). I asked for layers/ short hair maybe curtain bangs. I was a bit taken aback by how little she asked about what i wanted. i had to ask for a mirror to see if the hair length she cut was good. After she cut my hair, she asked if i wanted texture or layers like she had no idea what i wanted. I said texture because in my mind that means more subtle layers/a few chops near the crown of head idk) I was shook when she started blow drying my hair (literally cut my hair straight and started to style it)... Then she asked how short I want my bangs and she just cut them diagonally in two snips-- there was no trying to blend it into my hair or layering etc. And while my hairline was striaght, it was also bit choppy (see picture of my hair tied up) because there was no layering/thinning the ends. Which I couldnt really tell since she went striaght into curling the hair. Anyway i could tell they were closing soon and there was no going back so i accepted the $60 haircut and left. All this isn't to say roselena isn't skilled, it just felt very disappointing to know that both my sister and i came out feeling unheard and not satisfied with our new hair. Sure, we could have been more aggressive about asking for what we want, but we don't know how to talk about hair/what the steps are so had no idea what the results were until the end/post showering. read more

This was my first visit to this salon and my experience was fantastic. Viviana Cano did my hair and she did a great job. I have a lot of grays in the front so I got color done, she got the color I wanted and left my hair feeling very sleek (I have a lot of friz). Everyone was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I needed a haircut because my hair was getting long and in the way and one of my friends recommended Alyssa! Alyssa was really sweet - she offered me a drink and greeted me as I walked in and the whole experience felt pretty personal throughout my visit. She sat with me as soon as I got in to see what I was looking for and I appreciated the consult before she just dove right in. I really liked my haircut!
