On March 13, 2026, Felicia called me a racist in front of other people on the street outside of the shop simply because I did not tip her. Her manager should inform her that tips are not an obligation, or ideally, fire her. I had left the shop to sit outside and wait for my Uber because she had already made me so uncomfortable inside the shop (asking why I did not tip, for example). I replied that it was very rough. Yet she still felt it reasonable to shortly afterwards go outside and yell out that I was a racist. This was extremely inappropriate and I hope no one ever tips this employee again, assuming she is able to keep her job there. And, by the way, the haircut was literally painful. I have never had a painful haircut before. That was why I did not tip. This may have been because she was in a hurry--she said multiple times that she had to run to catch her bus. Additionally, I am very liberal and sympathize with the issues that POC face in society. Not every white male is a racist Trump supporter... Initially, I actually apologized to her because I felt bad. But upon further reflection I should have done no such thing and simply reported the matter to her manager. This was a disturbing experience. Lastly, I had lost my source of income 2 months prior and was also burdened by medical bills, so this was a second reason that I decided not to tip. But, this does not matter, because again, she is not entitled to tips. read more

This is my usual spot for cuts, and I was having a rough day when I walked in for a first time dye AND cut. I didn't quite book it right, but Charlie was able to get me seated and going right away with little trouble. Not only did my hair turn out the right shade, but she was able to clean up the do despite me not being prepared with a reference picture. It really made a tough day better. I was honesty expecting to walk in for a simple cleanup and got one of the best dye and shapes I've had for a while. $65.00. Unheard of! I try not to make a habit out of passing along truthful information that could potentially be negatively impactful for the growth and progression of various businesses, but when I do, I promise not to skip out on retelling the experience as honestly and detailed as possible. Yesterday evening, I decided to get my haircut by Bruce (I didn't plan on sharing their name, but I'd prefer they know the job was subpar and uncomfortable from start to finish). I've been receiving haircuts in local barbershops my entire life. Never have I suffered through a barber scraping my scalp so aggressively, in all my years on earth. It honestly gave me PTSD flashbacks of going through bootcamp and being cut by those barbers. But even then, I didn't pay for it and the cuts were intended to be horrible to berate and tear down your pride in spirit. That was good training, but this wasn't boot camp. Bruce literally scraped my head so intensely I forgot what I ate for lunch that day. I may have suffered honest memory loss as a result of Bruce doing his best to cultivate my head through medieval farming practices. However, it gets worse - the clippers looked as if they were plugged into the wall, but they sound like they were powered by a V6 Diesel engine. At one point, it sound like they were gonna backfire and propel exhaust fumes into my ears. I'm not sure if those clippers were owned by the shop and rotated between stylist or they were Bruce's own personal pair, but my God. Neither are acceptable. No one needs to pay hard earned dollars to experience the same treatment hedges and weeds receive when your local gardeners and groundskeepers get busy in a vegetation heavy backyard. To add icing on the cake! That's right, you honestly though I was done! Nope! It gets so much better!! Bruce clipped my eyebrow during his stellar hair trimming performance! Now I look like a struggling dark skinned modern day pseudo Nelly rendition. You really nailed it Bruce! . Again, I don't usually get on Yelp to share my experiences, but today I had some words :-) . If you're in the Atlanta midtown area and you're contemplating where to get a nice cut! Do yourself a favor - unless you're a masochist or potentially doing your best at replicating your glory days from Basic Training, go ANYWHERE besides here. That is all. read more

I believe that businesses thrive off of good reviews and will give places good reviews if the service they provided was good. That being said, this was not a very good job. Avoid this place if you want a thorough meticulous haircut. They literally use a kitchen timer and set a 15 min timer. So you're in and out quickly. I get home and realize my hair is uneven all over the back of my head. If the trimmer was run a few times, the unevenness wouldn't be there, but how can they when they're on a time limit. Also when an employee came in through the back door, a strong odor of marijuana followed. Guess it keeps the stylist relaxed while having to rush through 15 min haircuts. read more

His ear is cut and the forehead is scraped, haircut looks like something I could do in the he dark, with my left hand. Seriously, what kind of a stylist says "why" when asked to show the back of a head? Smart ass one, I say. And when the client offered to show a picture of a style he wants, the response is " I cut hail not pictures". Really? " I know what I am doing ". Ok, ok, it was closing time on Sunday, so he must have brought it on himself. She was pulling his hair and pushing his head like he was a rag doll. I called this location extremely nervous because I have very curly, dense and mid-back length hair that needed to be trimmed. I always call first because usually when I walk in with my full fro, everyone looks nervous, which makes me nervous. I don't like wearing my hair straight, but I find that most stylists try to blow dry and straighten it first to cut it and it always ends up lop-sided once it's curly again... Plus with everything I end up paying $130, when I really didn't want it straightened - JUST CUT! Tasha answered and assured me that she could cut my hair, as well as anyone in the salon. So I came in. Upon walking in, she said "oh girl that isn't bad at all!" This is the before and after... I couldn't be happier. My cut was $17 and bc she blow fried it just a bit to get my kinks out (had it braided) it ended up being a whopping $38! I left her a $10 tip because I was so happy with my cut, the shape of my hair and the service. I was in and out within my hour lunch break. Donald will take care of you for a great price in a matter of minutes. He's the man, and is the reason I'm not giving this place 2 stars. The wait is usually long, somewhere in the range of 30-45 minutes (even after checking in online). I'm not sure why there's typically only one barber working at the busiest times. I'm updated my review because I had a poor experience with Michael today. He insisted that my hair be rinsed before he cut it, as I already had product in. I've been putting product in my hair for 10+ years and have never once been told that my hair needs to be product-less prior to cutting. The price of the shampooing was a ridiculous $6. I originally asked him to take an inch off the top, but he started by only taking off about half an inch. So, I asked him to kindly take a little more off. In response, he told me that such a request would cost me an extra dollar. What? So much for service. read more

In short, you even mow grass in one direction, and you don't abuse grass. I had gel on the day I came for the haircut. I was never given a headwash, but that's alright. However, my barber didn't even wet my hair! Even worse, she moved the razor back and forth and basically dragged and pulled my hair off. I have never felt so much pain when getting a haircut. Very often she would even turn the chair around so I was not facing the mirror and couldn't see what she was doing. Eventually, another barber couldn't even bear what she was doing and gave my tortured scalp some proper treatment, and that's the only reason why this review is even one star (also you can't give 0-star reviews). It was my first time here, I told the lady I just wanted a trim, about 3 inches. I can tell she was trying and even asked the other stylist there how she should cut my hair since I wanted a v-shape instead of a blunt cut. She let me know, if I wanted it like that, she'd have to cut more of the sides. I thought my hair was short enough, so I just told her to leave it like how it was. I actually work as a receptionist at a salon and when I came into work, the lead stylist there let me know that my hair was UNEVEN and had a LOT of EXCESS HAIR that wasn't cut. She was nice enough to fix it and left my hair looking so much better. I don't think I'll be coming back I should've just stuck to the higher end salons. read more

This dude did some instant magic and I couldn't thank him enough for the artistic haircut. Sheer excellence for the way in which he changed the nest that I was carrying over my head to a sharp cut. The best part was that he cared enough to listen to what I had to say and then asked me more questions for clarity. He took it from there. Highly recommended and extra stars! Past: My entire barber cut took her 5min max. and I'm living with it ever since. Glad it was 3 weeks before I'm heading out for a trip.
