Do not book Erin Collins ! Been going to her for years. Wasted a lot of time coming back for her mistakes to be fixed and I have always paid full price for service and tipped 20%. After the most recent appointment, I called out her mess up before I even left the salon, we scheduled a fix date, then earlier today I texted her to make sure we set enough time when I come back to truly fix it and not rush it like she did the first time. She responded by cancelling my appointment and giving me a $ 155 refund toward my fix with another stylist. Really disappointing after I've been coming to her for years and not giving up on her because she makes mistakes once in a while. I also don't give up easy on people I care about. Don't be me. This is her most recent work. And now I will have to find a new salon to fix this which will absolutely cost me more than $155. read more

Posting this here as Adore never responded to my contact form. This is concerning an appointment scheduled with Amanda. Hi, I'd like to inform you about a negative experience my partner had. She had an appointment with Amanda that she missed due to last minute leaving town for her grandmothers death. Her grandmother lives in Kansas City and she had to fly out with under 24 hours notice. This was a time of grieving and pain - we had forgotten about her appointment. She was charged for the appointment in full, as stated in the appointment guidelines. However, she contacted Amanda to inquire about a potential 50% charge as opposed to 100% or even potentially putting some of that charge towards a future appointment and was met with indifference and unwillingness to meet halfway. We understand that policies, but given the circumstances felt there would be an opportunity for flexibility. We will not be returning and hope that you offer a more sincere and empathetic experience for future clientele. We provided obituary info and our contact info and never heard anything back from Adore. read more

I paid for my service with my credit card while at the salon, and 2 days later I am showing another charge on a completely different card, my debit card. Olivia Rezutko is absolutely GOLDEN. I don't typically remember to leave reviews (oops), but I knew I absolutely had to this time. I was a nightmare of a hair situation. Had hardly done much with it since the beginning of the pandemic, and had the unfortunate issue of hair thinning due to an autoimmune thing. Coming into a new salon gave me serious anxiety, but the second I sat down with Olivia I felt immediately at ease. At the end of my appointment she even made a comment that she'd never seen anyone just settle in, close their eyes, and enjoy the process so much (also, bonus, I like to talk for a minute and sometimes just zone out if I can, she totally got that). I don't know if she realized what a testament that was to what a gentle and relaxing impression she can make on someone that would otherwise be severely tense. All of that is not easy to find, but then for her to completely revive my look from the dead? Straight up lazarus?! There was true interest, care, and time that meant something to both parties. The technique she used to color my hair was delicate and so well done. Both the length and color were not what I had originally had in mind, and I am SO GLAD that Olivia had a better vision for me than I had for myself. I left this salon feeling confident in my hair for the first time in a very long time. Olivia cares, she's fantastic, and I'm truly impressed with her as a colorist and as a person. As for the salon, I think it's lovely. The people that work there have great energy, it has the perfect balance of lively and chill. Be aware that parking might add a few minutes if you're running close to your appointment time, not a big deal, just a heads up. read more

My stylist did NOT do what I wanted....and I couldn't be happier! I HATE trying to find a new stylist...in fact I recently went two full years without a cut because I was dreading the possibility of a bad one. In June, I broke my two year streak with a cut from another highly rated salon and I legitimately cried the whole drive home...my hair looked so thin and stringy. Three months after that catastrophe, it was time to try again. Lots of people recommended Adore Hair Salon so I decided to give them a try. I booked an appointment online and and began scouring Pinterest for styles I liked. My stylist was Erin, and I showed her pictures of the styles I liked (which ended up being the same pics I showed the other stylist in June). She listened to what I wanted and looked at the pictures....THEN, she explained why that style would not work well for my hair texture and explained some tweaks she would recommend to better suit my hair. What she said made sense...and explained the thin, stringy looking disaster I ended up with last time...so I agreed to give what she had in mind a try. It's like I grew 50% more hair just sitting there in the chair. I wish I had a before from right after my last cut for comparison, but you'll have to trust me that it looks much thicker and healthier. I will definitely be going back to Adore and Erin. read more

She really goes the extra mile to make sure that the customer is leaving happy. I am someone who has always done the same thing to my hair. I wanted to change it up slightly this time, but wasn't sure exactly how. She was quick to give me a suggestion that suited me well and also stayed in my comfort zone! She had a long day the day of my haircut (I was the latest time slot), and because she wanted to be sure that she did everything perfectly up to her standards, she told me I could come back the next day for a free blowout and she would check the cut she gave me (of course, the haircut was perfect the first time, but this was so kind of her to do). I am just now able to right this without becoming completely disgusted while thinking about it. I scheduled a single process color with Malaika, but being that I had not had a hair appointment in 2020 I decided to ask for a TRIM also. My hair is natural and I manipulate it very minimally. I also rarely put heat on my hair, and have not straightened my hair in all of 2020. As such, after my color, we opted to TRIM my hair in its naturally curly state. When I walked into the salon, my naturally curly hair came to my shoulders when curly and just above my bra strap when straight. Literally just before she started cutting she said "so you want to keep as much hair as possible, right?" to which I answered, yes. Initially I could not see how much was being cut but once I could I immediately asked her why she was cutting off so much of my hair! Initially she said she wasn't cutting that much and then she quickly changed her response to "well you need it, you haven't had your hair trimmed all year." I feel that was very disrespectful because it is still MY HAIR on MY HEAD. Before cutting my hair she should have asked me if I was comfortable with what she supposedly felt "needed" to be cut. And I could have told her NO. I can barely get my hair in a ponytail and I am pissed. I didnt know what to do or say so once my hair was styled and dry, I paid and left. I will NEVER be back. If you are a black woman with natural hair I would not suggest you go to this salon either. read more

This salon is really hard to find- and when I called and spoke to Taylor they acknowledged that there are not "really any signs for their salon" inside a building loft. My teenage daughter searched for the salon for 30 minutes on foot around all the buildings in this condensed area, and could not find it. She kept calling with no answer. Finally a Catherine answered my phone call, and said my credit card would be charged for the $60 service anyway. But they would not do her hair. My daughter was in tears without her hair getting done as she had set this appointment up for Prom night. I guess they really need the rent money for this terrible location and service. Got my hair cut yesterday and I'm SO THRILLED I saw Kelsey Chlopecka. One of my coworker's had the most beautiful layers so I knew I had to see her. ****Tip: You get $25 off your first time with Kelsey Chlopecka if you tell her I referred you! (I love that hook up incentive!) When I first met Kelsey, she introduced herself and immediately asked what I was looking for. She listened, made a suggestion, didn't force anything on me, and I trusted her! She let me know that she wanted to start with a dry cut, then washed my hair, and cut it and styled it. At one point she had me stand as she cut my hair. She truly took her time with me and I felt like my hair was her masterpiece. I have a round face, but the layers she cut was exactly what I asked for. My hair has that Asian-American thick straightness. Usually dead straight and lifeless. The cut brought my hair to life as well as bounce. She frames my face perfectly and stuck with keeping my length despite the layer cutting. Before I left, she honored the $25 discount and told me to come back in 10-12 weeks or whenever it seemed like my layers wasn't giving me life anymore :p A cut with her is usually $65 which is pretty standard in the city. They don't validate parking and I had to park in the structure which was $4 for two hours. Kind of a bummer since street parking sucks in that area, but they were nice at the front desk, clean, and offer refreshments :) read more

I went in for a full haircut since I hadn't cut my hair ever since the pandemic began. I asked my stylist for layers as my hair is thick. I also showed her a reference picture of what I wanted it to look like in the back. While she was cutting my hair, I noticed she wasn't doing what I usually saw other stylists do when I ask for layers, but I thought maybe she just had a different way of doing things. After the haircut, I really didn't notice anything until the day after - my bangs were uneven, there were really no layers in the back - just on the sides framing my face, and the ends kinda flare out weirdly (my hair never did that before when I had it at that length.) Anyways, I'm not angry, just disappointed since the haircut cost $65 and I gave $15 tip. read more

I had a cut with Leah and it was terrible. $80 for a haircut where she didn't even wash my hair, give me anything that I asked for AND pressure the entire time to impulsively get platinum blonde highlights? No thanks. I asked for a couple inches off with long layers and face framing pieces. I got an extremely basic chop with absolutely no dimension so now I'm stuck with blunt cut that feels heavy and outdated. And for her to not even wash my hair? Honestly probably better that she didn't because she slathered so much gunk in my hair that I had to go home and immediately wash it. Such a waste of time and money. Not to mention she said some inappropriate and offensive comments during my cut that made me extremely uncomfortable. Can't speak for the other stylists, but if you go do not get Leah. read more
