We paid $40 for a combo number 2. Our chicken was under cooked and we didnt know until we got all the way home 40ty minutes away. Salchipapa, what a rip off! Looks like they threw half a turkey oscar myers wiener on it and had the nerve to still call it salchipapa. This is not salchipapa for the non peruvians that dont know any better. The fries were not cooked all the way either. They gave us navy beans! Navy beans?!!!! Really. Since when??? The only thing that was semi good from my meal was the garlic sauce that comes with the tostones. Tostones were Mid. Some were crispy and some werent really cooked. They were small like chips but had not crunch . This is not good peruvian food and if you think it is you never had good food period in your life. The worst. I actually want my money back! read more

This place is pretty good. I usually order the half chicken with a side of rice and beans. Portions are fair and the service is very good. Staff is attentive and it's set in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. I personally think the prices are a little high, but nowadays that's pretty par for the course. read more

I think this is a local fast casual chain but their food is full service restaurant quality. Peruvian cuisine is one of my favorites, but I live in Philly and our Peruvian options are minimal and subpar. So, whenever I am in north Jersey or New York for work, I try to find the closest Peruvian spot. I was in Long Beach for work and stumbled upon this spot. The place is casual but clean. The spot is located right on Park Ave. It is located on a strip of several stores. I walked and approached the counter towards the back of the main eating area. I was immediately greeted by the server. I ordered a few Peruvian entrees to go, and ordered a half chicken, salad and fries. The food came out within 10 minutes, very hot and delicious. I was very pleased by the flavor of the chicken. And the green sauce was so on point. Good food, good prices. Highly recommend this spot! read more

This place isn't trendy or decorated much, and almost could be a whole in the wall, but their chicken is amazing. You can order off their menu, but they do have combo specials ranging from $20-$30 for their whole chicken specials. It's not a long wait, and when we ordered we got our food in 5 minutes. They must have a ton of rotisserie chicken going on in the back. Their green sauce is also pretty tasty. I'm not a fan of their beans, or French fries with fried sliced hotdogs. They have Peruvian beers, with a small selection of bottle beers, and basic wines. There's 3 TVs which 2 are always on soccer, and another Spanish channel. Came here on a weekend to hang out with friends. It was packed but the hot owner saw me and seated me right away. Huge seating area for big parties and there's also bar seating's. The place was clean and professional. We asked the staff to bring us the best. We got the super chicken combos #3 and always get a steak fried rice with some sangria. The pitcher of sangria will keep the party going, if you know what I mean. The portions are massive. My fav are the fried plantains and chicken. This place will treat you like family. Oh don't forget to dip the sauces that they have on the side. Its like crack- very addicting. Take the rest to go and you'll have enough for another meal. This is my go to Peruvian restaurant. I think I've been here over countless times for lunch take out. 9/10 read more

Okay Peruvian restaurant in Long Beach with a large dining area and a pretty big menu. Ordered the Peruvian chicken fried rice which simply didn't pack much flavor. The quarter rotisserie chicken with yellow rice and beans was so so as well. The chicken was dry but the yellow rice and beans were quite good. Sweet plantains on the side were great. Service was polite, if not overly attentive and it is a tad over priced. Not the greatest place to eat in the area but adequate if you're in the mood for something different. read more

Absolutely delicious and a very, very welcome addition to Long Beach. My first experience with their take out service was absolutely fantastic and I will be visiting again. I do give one star off because they don't have everything on the menu available yet - but this place has only been open for two weeks so I understand. The phone/takeout experience did require a bit of patience and they do kind of push you to pick up instead of deliver (I called on an extremely rainy night and it was nasty out...) but they were patient with a rather large order for a bunch of friends. So on to the food: Whole Rotisserie Chicken - the size is perfect for 4-6 people depending on how many sides you get and this chicken is melt in your mouth good. Absolutely moist and flavorful - and I usually only each chicken breast (kind of hard to get such a great description on that). Highly recommended and better than Pio Pio (one of my favorite restaurants). For $10, you cannot go wrong with this. It's a MUST. Green Sauce: Amazing. Quite possibly the best I've ever tasted - make sure you ask for extra even though they were pretty generous with it. Choritos a la Characa : green mussels with lime juice, onions and tomatoes. Surprisingly delicious (this was our mystery item). The mussels were large and juice, perfectly prepared ...large dish for the price. $10. Easily feeds four as an app. Papa a la Huanicana: Cold potatoes in spicy cheese. This was the fail for me. My sister in law loved it, but I ended up shying away from it and finding nothing good about it...disappointment. (Gloppy cheese, cold potatoes, no real flavor) Cevicho Mixto: Prepared to perfection. The portion is generous and the fish and other seafood items are absolutely fresh. If any item on the menu showcases this restaurants commitment to freshness, then this is it. Jalea: This was an ok to very good dish. It's basically deep fried mixed seafood including fish, calamari, crab and shrimp. Great for a treat but not something I'd eat all of the time, It's better than average and I found myself going back for seconds and then becoming aware of the oil content. It's a nice compliment. Casava Fries: normal casava fries, nothing to write home about. The rice and beans were also good (the beans are actually cannelli bean based, which I loved). My disappointment was that despite ordering all of this food they did not have the two dishes that I really wanted: the parihuela (seafood soup) and the palta rellena (stuffed avocado salad) - these are actually my two fave and basic Peruvian dishes. Hopefully they will get them in so that I can taste them and update my review. Also: DO NOT ORDER DESSERT HERE. They had two options on Saturday. Flan and this strawberry mousse cake. I made the mistake of getting the three layer cake which was frozen strawberry jello, over a pink mystery/strawberry mousse over a pound cake. Sounds much better than it was and the whole group agreed that this was not the place for dessert. Overall, I'd really recommend this place to anyone: the main food is great, the owner (Luis) is exceptionally cordial and helpful (big plus) and this really beats driving out of town for great peruvian rotisserie chicken (walking distance)! I'll definitely be back. Also, the restaurant itself is surprisingly clean and I would eat in next time. Go get some chicken!! You won't be disappointed. Just stick to basics. read more

I really love this place for an easy inexpensive eat in or take out location. The food is simple mostly all Peruvian style dishes and some fantastic super moist and juicy rotisserie chicken. For $24 you get a whole roasted chicken rice and beans, french fries with hotdog slices, a nice house salad and fried sweet platanos. Also their green sauce is absolutely fantastic it's not overly spicy but a good hint of spice also should not be missed is their house white sauce dressing amazing. As far as the interior the place is clean efficient and seemingly well run it's apparently all family and is associated with the one in East Rockaway which is equally good. This place is definitely a keeper and a welcome addition to Long Beach. read more

Comes with fries and salad. Fries are pretty basic average fries, needs salt!. The Salad had a nice presentation but the dressing isnt that great. Whole chicken - awesome and delicious. Got this as part of the family combo pack for $24 which includes all the hottest items on the menu. Tomales - they ran out of tamales when i went at 7pm on a Wednesday the first time, so I didn't get any. I got them a second time and they are "just ok". Keep in mind I hate tomales, but these were on the better side. Maybe partially because i slathered them in green sauce. Salad - pretty basic but nice presentation. Ask for lots of extra white sauce dressing since its a bit watery. Tostones/Fried Plantains - average and not much taste. Use lots of green sauce for these. Papa a la Huancina $7 - pretty disappointing. You get a cold sliced potato on a piece of lettuce with spicy chipotle sauce on a small plate. Not recommended at all. Saltada Mixto - $14 - It was ok. Looks like stir fried pieces of chicken and steak with a LOT of onions.Comes with a big mound of rice. The picture on the menu shows what this dish is supposed to look like. What the picture doesn't show is that dish comes swimming in broth/gravy. It also comes with fries but they are under the meat in all the gravy so they are just soggy fries. Portion was average for the price. Fries and Hotdog Slices - Fries were pretty good but be sure to add extra salt, they don't come with any. Hot dog slices were pretty much what you'd expect. I loved that the place wasn't too loud (end of April) and the place is clean. Also very close to the beach! The chicken was succulent and well spiced. 4/5 in NYC but in this context I would give it a 5. The potatoes were bland and not cooked in any sauce or seasoning. Just cheese poured on top. 2 stars. The rice was not heavily seasoned and the beans were simple. Nothing special but the interesting white beans. 3 stars. The empanada was very doughy and the meat felt firm. 3 stars. The sauces were very bland. A ranch sauce and I think the other was supposed to be cilantro? Maybe it was just old? 2 stars. I would probably try another place before coming back here. If I were looking to spend more, go further away or if I knew that there was another good interesting and inexpensive place nearby I would certainly try another place, but something tells me I am being a snobby New Yorker and this place is special for the area. At the Long Beach fireworks, instead of eating at the beach, We decided to eat at one of local restaurants. We walked around and I noticed this small restaurant serving Peruvian chicken. I said let's try this place. What a gem! The place had a windex smell when I walkin and that was the only negative. The service was excellent. I ordered the whole chicken with avocado salad and fries. The meal feeds two people. The chicken was tender and juicy. Ok the avocado salad was with iceberg lettuce. Succulent Peruvian chicken! Awesome ceviche! Delicious avocado salad! Come here for the friendly fast service after a tiring day at the beach! Just a couple minutes off of the boardwalk. Their chicken has moist juicy tender chicken, and that was absolutely flavorful. Paired with their spicy sauce it is completely utterly delectable! I shoveled half a chicken into my mouth...I swear the beach wears a girl down lol. Avocado salad was a good balancer to soak up the grease in my tummy and not feel like a total loser for eating half a damn chicken in one sitting. I really wasn't expecting this blockbuster of a place so close by the beach. I often think about this place and just want to make a beach trip out of it so I can eat to my hearts content. You can still get all the protein your muscular heart desires at Super Pollo. The difference is....the food is awesome. I've stuck with the basics thus far, mainly because I'm not familiar with many of the menu items....trying things little by little. This rotisserie chicken is juicy and delicious. And with the #3 combo you get a whole chicken, fries with sliced hot dog, tostones, rice and cannelloni beans, and a small avocado salad. $26. Enough food for 2, maybe even 3 adults. They give you a salad dressing and a green hot sauce, both homemade, both amazing. The seafood ceviche is good as well. Having been to Peru, I came here to re-live some of the great meals that I had there. Ordered 1/4 chicken with rice and beans. Chicken was perfect, Lots of flavor. White beans in a thin sauce did not have much flavor, and sadly, the rice tasted like plastic. I attribute this to the notion that maybe the rice is stored in those plastic containers you get at the supermarket for potato salad, etc. There are two sauces made available, one garlicky and great tasting, the other hotter and equally as good, and I added them both to the rice and this pretty much masked the plastic flavor and odor. The restaurant is clean, bright, with some photos on the walls of Huayna Picchu (We climbed that! Whew!), Inca ruins, and a painting from the Floating Islands. Staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The flan we had for dessert was terrific. Dense, infused with sugary, caramelized sugar, and huge! Amazing food! Great flavor, the portion size was outstanding! My wife and I ordered the #3 and shared it and it was more than enough for the both of us, not only for dinner, but for lunch the next day too! My only gripe was that the plantains were fried almost to the point of tasting like French fries, but hey, this was a pretty minor thing. I would say in the future to fry them less so that they can stay soft and sweet in the middle. Service was great, we will def come back. Super Pollo is SUPER DELICIOSO!!! First visit ordered 1 whole chicken and tostones to go. While waiting for my takeout order, I noticed a beautiful homemade big whole flan in the fridge. It was definitely homemade so I ordered a slice too. Well this was a fantastic meal. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, not too salty, with crispy skin. The tostones were crispy and a generous portion. Really tasty green sauce, not too spicy with just the right amount of kick. The flan....OH! THE FLAN!!!! It WAS homemade, just like my mom used to make and my cousins still make, the old fashioned way. It was absolutely perfect! Just scrumptious! The location is bright and was SPOTLESS!! Went there last night 5/22/2019 my husband and i ordered a skirt stake sandwich each, got the sandwich with two (2) small pieces of meat and no mayo, no mustard no dressing added for flavor, the bread was on a huge hero bread half burned, this place is the worse place i have eaten at, the price for the the sandwich was $15 dollars, we could have eaten at McDonalds' for $15 for both, the worse was when we walked in the place it smelled like they had just mopped the floor with a dirty mop.
