Not the best place if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. The hostess was sitting at the bar eating and watched my party stand there confused for about 5 minutes. The restaurant was basically empty except for two or three parties outside. The service wasn't great, there was a long wait for everything including water and silverware. The oysters were decent. I ordered the Island Time Bowl which was very "wet" and had no flavor. The rice and chicken were sitting in water and the mango salad only contributed to the unappetizing texture. The chicken was a sad excuse for jerk chicken, and should have just been labeled as "grilled chicken skewers." If I do come back it will be to have a drink and nothing more. read more

Ate dinner here last week &, unfortunately, we were really, really disappointed. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which was dry & thus lacked flavor, Also ordered the Lobster Roll which had the tiniest of bits of lobster in it which were also dry & chewy & the overall flavor was more of celery than anything else. Judging from other reviews. we were expecting better. Another winner on our new take out quarantine list! Food came fresh, on time, and well packaged. I do believe everything was correct in the order. The first thing I got was the steak arepa, yum. They STUFFED it full with steak, to the brim! And the steak was great, the cotija cheese crumbles were yummy and I loved the avocado sauce that came with it. The yucca potato fries, another thing on my order, were delicious and came with a great sauce on the side. They stayed pretty crisp through the delivery. The final thing on my list was the fried fish taco....was not as big of a fan. The fish tasted overfried and dried--but I learned next time to go for the grilled fish. Prices were very reasonable for all the good food I got. Definitely getting an arepa EVERYTIME I order! On a side note, it seems that the tortilla chips have gluten in them. My roommate is celiac and we believe there was some gluten. For those not worried about gluten though....their chips are great! read more

Cute bar with above average food for a bar! We came in with a group of 10 on a Saturday over MDW and they were able to accomodate our large party no problem. We were there to eat and have a casual drink but I can tell that this would be a really fun spot for a night out. Although Jetty feels like a sports bar and has some sports bar staples on the menu (burgers, wings, etc) they also have tapas on the menu which I thought was interesting for a bar. You can order things like arepas, croquettes and skewers. I went with a fish taco (thanks to the menu description which says it is 'veryyyyyy good') and medium buffalo wings. The wings were just average but the menu description was right - that was a damn good fish taco. A little steeply priced at 6 dollars for just one taco but totally worth it for a perfectly fried piece of fish. I didn't try any but the menu has a bunch of creative cocktails. My friend ordered a blueberry lemonade vodka and really enjoyed it. Maybe next time I'm out in the LB! read more

Paid for a 3 hour open bar, and had it cut short by an hour because the restaurant lost track of who should have and shouldn't have been at the open bar. Instead of offering stamps/wristbands, they hand counted how many people were in the room 2 hours into the event, and promptly turned on the lights and forced everyone out of the room with bouncers. Advice to management: learn how to properly keep track events, or stop hosting them altogether with. read more

Very attentive servers, almost felt like they were rushing us out but I think it was just a bit slow for a Monday evening so they were extra attentive. They were still kind and chill. I recognize that I am not the target audience for this kind of place, and I did not come at the expected time. I've walked past this restaurant numerous times over the last few years noticing a very strong party atmosphere (in common with a lot of Long Beach establishments over the past few years) but decided to pop my head in for an early lunch today just to give it a shot. The staff was very friendly and I loved the music playing. Unfortunately this is where my appreciation ends - I ordered only 3 tacos, so maybe this isn't their strong suit, but they were certainly not great. The fish taco was okay - though it claims to be best on the island - it was the best of the three. The shrimp taco featured distinctly undercooked shrimp and also funky seasoning. The beef taco was soggy and extremely bland, but I ate the whole thing to make sure I wasn't messing up. On the other hand, my more *outgoing* friends and relatives that have been there over the years have had many good things to say, so perhaps I came at a bad time/ate the wrong thing. I walked in on a hot Sunday afternoon after biking from the Rockaways --- got the last two seats by the bar we instantly met a couple from Long Beach by us who recommended that we get the "Jet Fuel" (PLEASE GET THIS!!!!) All I can say is I will never go anywhere else for a fish taco...AMAZING! My boyfriend always seems to be the best at ordering because he ordered two fish tacos and I ordered a steak taco mine was good but his was excellent, such great flavors! The vibe was also very excellent even on a rainy sat in march it felt like we were in Florida with the soft Caribbean music and the very chill laid back bartender he was great and made us not want to leave! Went to this bar twice in 2 days, I will start off with food is great. However in back to back days the service went from bad to horrible. Day one the waitress bought out 3 drinks that were wrong and we asked her about and acted like we were wrong. We drank them anyways to be nice, then she got the food order wrong. When we got the bill the drinks definitely showed that she put the wrong order in. We kept our mouths shut to be nice and still left a good tip. Day two, since the food was good we figured we give it another shot, since we wanted to try the drink we order the day prior, but didn't receive. The people I was with got their food an hour after I finished my meal. We bought it up to the manager Ally, she apologized and got us a free round of drinks, however they were all undrinkable and we asked her about it privately to not cause a stir she said they weren't "Vendetta" drinks. Which clearly they were because she bought it up. After we asked if we could get replacement drinks she asked us to leave if we didn't like them, then called the bouncer to clear our table (which he didn't because he knew she was wrong and we all had full drinks). She was unbelievably rude, and clearly untrained for the position. After, all that the waitress walked out with our apps, this is after we already ate and got drinks. Tapas bars are the biggest swindling bars around. They make you believe that you're not doing anything wrong if you order 7 different dishes because the portions are small. I've been here several times for brunch since they opened their indoor eating and I'm overly satisfied with both experiences. You must stay seated at your table unless you are using the restroom. Your mask must be worn upon entering and exiting and any bathroom trips. They are pretty strict about these rules and I'm very grateful for that. I felt very safe and comfortable. They can accommodate groups of up to 8 (pretty sure reservations are a must) and seeing Ricky Roche perform live in person is always a plus!
