Unfortunately, five ocean has so much potential to be a great spot but it was just a great disappointment for my girlfriend and I. I understand that the location is costly and the food has to reflect that. If the food is a high price and is good, then it's money well spent in my book but that was not the case here at five ocean. The only plate that was worth the price was the chicken because of the quantity but it was lacking quality for sure. There was absolutely NO SEASONING except of a little spot on the massive chicken. Along with the food that was well below par, the service was terrible. The fact that they couldn't get us water for 15/20 minutes, drinks that are terrible, utensils that were DIRTY. I have been telling those close to me to avoid five ocean and everyone was shocked at our experience. I'm not sure if it was just the day we went but as a restaurant, you don't know if that one off day is going to be important for someone and everyday has to be a good day. If that's not the case, then it looks like five ocean is just coasting on the fact that they are right next to the beach.

Small hidden Gem right on the beach ! My food and drinks were absolutely delicious ! Steps away from the sand & a beautiful view while dining. Bartender and cook both 10/10 !

I was cheating on keto to have pasta. I was with a friend who's husband owns a well renowned Italian restaurant. I ordered the pasta with mushroom. Even she was like wtf.

If you are in Long Beach NY, check out Five Ocean. I had Shrimp Tacos with Mango salsa, Cucumber and Sweet Potato. It was incredible and exploded with flavor. The restaurant has beachfront view as well which is nice!

Originally came along to the beach to do boardwalk biking with some friends & my daughter. We heard of this spot and thought it was a quick bite shack shop on the boardwalk. It's more like an off the boardwalk/beach restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating was right on a mini boardwalk at the sand which was nice. But, unfortunately it wasn't a quick bite at all. The waitress came and introduced herself and was very polite. But, the service took realllly long. We thought it was going to be a 30/40 min lunch but we ended up being there for over an hour and a half. We were so thirsty we ordered water when we first saw her and it took about 10 mins before we got any cups (but she was walking back and forth from the kitchen). I figured she was waiting for the alcoholic drink my friend ordered , but As a past waitress myself, i would never hold off water from a table for mixed drinks (esp in that heat)! We ordered truffle fries for the table & guacamole and chips. The fries were good. Nice and flavorful. We ordered the grilled chicken nachos and it had white cheese but something about the nachos hurt our tummy. We had lobster tacos which had mango salsa on it (delicious!). The tacos come with 2. The fish taco was so purple from the cabbage and seasoned so well. Now, Be careful when paying and your sitting outside!! My debit card fell under the boardwalk and it's too deep to grab it and not enough space you to receive it. That was a flop. Just be aware the clips are not secure enough to keep the Bill and card together. Overall. This was a good place. Not good for a quick bite and i was a bit upset it took the waitress long for water, the check, our boxes etc but the quality of the food is good. The spot is Convenient right off the beach and right next to the boardwalk I've still been on the lower level of the street.

This is the kind of place you come here for the nice summer outside vibe and kick back with a drink, after a walk on the boardwalk in Long Beach. Your here for the environment and the dining experience outside that's pretty much it. You don't necessarily come here just for the food. Although the chicken nachos were good. I had a pineapple drink which I thought was just merely ok, watered down and not strong. Lacked flavor. The nachos is what saved them Overall 3.5/5 stars Good beach vibes more than anything else. If you do come here make sure you get a table outside that's where you want to be!

We came here for lunch and it was good. I really enjoyed the coconut margarita. The lobster roll was in a bun so I definitely got my moneys worth. Sadly I got so full that I ended up taking a nap on the boardwalk. My husband ordered fish tacos. We were able to sit outside under an umbrella and the ocean was next to us but we couldn't really see because the sand dunes were covering the view. But I enjoyed the sky very much.

I've been to this place a few times so far since they've reopened and have been super impressed. They have arguably one of the best locations in Long Beach, great staff, drinks & food! My favorite drinks so far have been the watermelon martini & the kumquat margarita. The catch of the day (when I was there, swordfish) was prepared nicely, and the lamb pasta was also fantastic. When I went back I had the mussels as well which were really nice. They have great outdoor seating basically on the beach with umbrellas and heaters when it's chillier. I pretty much have nothing bad to say about this place and can't wait to return!

The servers were all super sweet, and the hostess' did their best to accommodate our group. We ordered two drinks-Cucumber Cooler and the Indian Summer. The Cucumber Cooler was pretty refreshing and reminded me a lot of a mojito. The Indian Summer, however, was extremely tangy and tart, so I wasn't the biggest fan. For our food, we got a Charcuterie Board, Spicy Chicken Rigatoni, Smokehouse Burger, and Cedar-Plank Salmon. We honestly devoured the Charcuterie Board as soon as it was placed down in front of us. I loved the toast paired with the meats, cheese, and fig. The Smokehouse Burger is honestly so filling. I was pretty full from a quarter of the burger, because it was so packed with things (onion rings, cheese, patty, etc.). The fries are also a classic. The rigatoni was also pretty good; it's your classic vodka sauce. As for the salmon, I was a HUGE fan. The maple-bourbon glaze on the salmon gave it a nice smoky, savory, and sweet flavor that paired amazingly with the garlic herb rice. I could honestly eat this for days. Overall, the food, service, and vibe were pretty nice. I see why so many Long Beach natives recommend this spot. We were also seated in their half indoor/half outdoor area, and the weather was beautiful that day, so it was really nice to experience. Highly recommend coming here !

They were packed so they seated us at the last 2 seats left at the bar near the host stand. There was an acoustic singer and guitar player adding to the energetic ambience. We were handed the place mats and menus upon seating. Then it took about 15 min to order a drink. Then another 25 min before we could place our food order. The female bartender was attentive to all the parties around us, and people who came in after us seemed to be a priority. The barback finally noticed us and helped us while he was also busting out drinks. He noticed we were trying to get her attention so he stepped in kindly and took our order. We ordered the Grilled Artichokes, the Burger, and Chicken Carbonara. (Wanted the Bolognese but someone had just ordered the last one by 8pm?!) She never checked in for a second round, so we didn't bother after about 20 min we gave up. The Artichokes came out about 20 min after ordering. They plopped them in front of us, no utensils or napkins. I had to ask the barback for some. The busser seemed disgruntled a said they only had forks. Had to flag someone else for napkins, and they brought us a pile of c-fold paper towels, when they usually have cloth napkins as we noticed with patrons who came in after us. My sis-in-law and I wolf down the 4 pieces of artichokes, using our fork and hands to cut into pieces (no knife). Then another 30 min before our mains come out. Couldn't even ask anyone for a food status update, so just tried to enjoy the live music and each other's company to distract from hunger pangs. The burger and carbonara finally show and looks great. The portions were generous. Fries were a little blonde and just underdone but seasoned enough. The carbonara was delicious as well, nice and al dente. We enjoyed our food and chatted. Music was on the louder side but for a Friday night at 8ish pm, that is not uncalled for. The restaurant started to end their rush and the bar emptied out a tad, but the service did not improve. Asked for the bill and to-go containers as soon as I could flag someone bc I knew it would take awhile to get them. Of course when getting the bill things progressed speedily, so we paid and tried to get out as soon as we were done. The staff there was hot and cold. Barback was helpful and everyone else seemed "annoyed" to have to help us with simple requests that shouldn't have to be requested to begin with. Again I understand rushes happen and staff can become overwhelmed. The bar team had to service the bar and some high tops nearby plus make drinks for the rest of the restaurant, so I understand the volume was high, but again the management team should plan accordingly to make sure the diners do not have to feel the lag in the service. Food was good but left a little disappointed from the service.

My first impression was just how big it is! There are multiple levels of seating and a large bar, giving it a lively atmosphere. I was honestly surprised to see how busy it was on a weekday morning, but that only got me more excited, it usually means a place has built a loyal following for a good reason. With only two stomachs to work with, we wanted to try as much as possible. We ordered eggs over medium with bacon, home fries, and toast, a short stack of pancakes with sausage, and biscuits and gravy. I'll just say it, this place knows how to make breakfast. Everything we ordered was done really well, and I honestly don't have many notes. The biscuits and gravy were excellent. The gravy was rich and flavorful, and the biscuit was soft, buttery, and the perfect pairing. I'm not usually a pancake person, but these were fantastic. Add some real maple syrup and a bite of sausage, and it was the perfect combination. I also can't finish this review without mentioning the Bloody Marys. If you're a Bloody Mary fan, these are elite.
