Outstanding Thursday night, steak specials. Great service. Always an enjoyable Thursday night.

We were enjoying ourselves by the beach, and surprisingly for a walk-in, they were able to seat our group of 11 people within half an hour. The servers were all super sweet, and the hostess' did their best to accommodate our group. We ordered two drinks-Cucumber Cooler and the Indian Summer. The Cucumber Cooler was pretty refreshing and reminded me a lot of a mojito. The Indian Summer, however, was extremely tangy and tart, so I wasn't the biggest fan. For our food, we got a Charcuterie Board, Spicy Chicken Rigatoni, Smokehouse Burger, and Cedar-Plank Salmon. We honestly devoured the Charcuterie Board as soon as it was placed down in front of us. I loved the toast paired with the meats, cheese, and fig. The Smokehouse Burger is honestly so filling. I was pretty full from a quarter of the burger, because it was so packed with things (onion rings, cheese, patty, etc.). The fries are also a classic. The rigatoni was also pretty good; it's your classic vodka sauce. As for the salmon, I was a HUGE fan. The maple-bourbon glaze on the salmon gave it a nice smoky, savory, and sweet flavor that paired amazingly with the garlic herb rice. I could honestly eat this for days. Overall, the food, service, and vibe were pretty nice. I see why so many Long Beach natives recommend this spot. We were also seated in their half indoor/half outdoor area, and the weather was beautiful that day, so it was really nice to experience. Highly recommend coming here ! read more

The food was solid, my steak was perfectly cooked and the pasta dish was also very good and a nice size portion. Steak price was on the high side. My biggest issue was with our server. She was very personable, however she was obviously "done" for the day( we did go late in the afternoon on Father's Day) so she gets a pass. Had to ask for everything, Salt, Pepper,and steak knife, steak sauce, and a drink refill as she never came by our table to see how we were doing. Salt and pepper shakers looked like the ones you buy at the supermarket when you go camping, lol! Mills would have been nice, especially when your are charging $53 dollars for a skirt steak. We sat in the back in an open air patio which was pretty nice on a warm day. I will give this place a do over as I'm sure their pub grub is superb. 3 stars for now, mostly due to a server who was over it by the time we got there! read more

We came for steak night and were pleasantly surprised by how popular and lively it was -- most of the tables were full, which is always a good sign. The menu offers a solid variety of options, and the staff seemed very knowledgeable about everything they offered. Their ribeye comes with a signature maple rub, but I noticed blackened seasoning on other dishes and asked if that could be used instead. The chef happily accommodated the request, and I was elated -- the flavor was incredible! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back. Honestly, I'll probably order the same thing again because it was that good. The space is quite large. We sat upstairs, but the downstairs features a spacious bar area that looked like a great spot to hang out as well. Looking forward to returning soon! read more

Worst service I've experienced , starting from front desk, don't be surprised if your table given to someone else because large group and pit you in waiting list more than hour because another group of 4 people!! Doesn't respect you if you are alone or 2persons only!! 1 star is enough!! read more

Lively restaurant with American fare in the middle of Long Beach, a block from the train station. Large bar, high top and regular tables, and frequent bands or DJ. Large menu, and everything has always tasted good. Back room and upstairs can accommodate parties. Staff was attentive. read more

We were visiting my mom in Long Beach and we're meeting up with our friends from Plainview. We had to be in bed early so we made it a quick night with them at JJ Cooper's. The food was very good and the service was very attentive. While there are other good choices, this is definitely a nice sports bar and there was live music playing, which was really great. read more

Went here for my friends birthday dinner and we all enjoyed it. The service was decent and they had a lot of variety on the menu. We got the bbq pulled pork Mac and cheese as an appetizer to share and it was SO good. I got the turkey burger for dinner and it was alright, it had refried beans on it that really masked the taste so it wasn't my favorite but others might enjoy it more. I've been going here forever. It's a fun, lively, yummy place to watch a game, have a meal or plan a private party.

Location was great, wait staff was great, vibe was great. There was live music and much to my surprise it was at a level that we could actually maintain a conversation. The food was just okay. I ordered the turkey melt which was quite flavorful but the turkey was low quality. Kind of like how you can get boars head turkey at a local deli but at jersey mikes turkey is garbage? This is like jersey mikes turkey, slimy and processed like there's no tomorrow. Fries were good. My wife had the chicken tidbits. Chicken was dry and was clearly cooked well in advance of our arrival. I guess they figure "we'll just throw some cheese on it and melt it and they'll never know". We knew. My friend and I dinned at the bar in JJ Coopers on a Friday evening. We immediately felt the good vibes as we entered this restaurant. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. FYI, JJ Coopers is right on the main strip as soon as you get off the Long Beach train station on the Long Island Railroad. Their drink and food menu has all these selections that makes it interesting and ready to eat and drink happily. We ordered truffle fries. Oh Ghosh! It was so delicious! I still taste the satisfying seasoning. We ordered more! In fact the guy sitting next to me gave us some of his fries. The locals in Long Island are so chilled! We also ordered their chicken Tibet's that was cheesy, filling and hit the spot. We enjoyed how well cooked and tendered the chicken was grilled and sliced before being placed on the bread. Thank you! For drinks, I had a montauk beer that was mild yet refreshing. Loved the taste! I have to say the food and drink prices was very affordable. The quality of food and services was spectacular. Very much appreciate it! And to top it off they had a live band playing all types of music. I visited with a few buddies on a Thursday night (4-11-24), which is "Steak Night". They have their entire menu available, but I was there for a hunk of beef. For $39, you get a choice of an appetizer, a steak and 2 sides. I believe the options were ribeye, strip, filet mignon or marinated skirt. For the app I opted for what's called the LB Chop. It was a chopped salad with mixed greens, cheese, bacon bits and a delicious house dressing. For my entree I went with the ribeye (had to have been between 12-14 ounces), which was perfectly seasoned and charred on the outside, while remaining pink in the center. A perfectly cooked "medium" steak as far as I'm concerned. My 2 sides were a baked sweet potato and what they refer to as "burnt" broccoli. Both were excellent. The service was fantastic as well. Our waitresses name was Lauren, she was super attentive and couldn't have been more accommodating, even though the restaurant was pretty crowded, she worked her butt off and went above and beyond to keep all of her tables serviced. I was very impressed. The ambiance is nice and casual with a pretty impressive looking bar in the center of the main room. Looking around, it seemed like many other patrons were enjoying their meals as much as I enjoyed mine. As an added bonus, they had live music (which consisted of a lad playing his guitar and singing many modern classics of the 80's, 90's and 2000's). It did get a wee bit loud when he began his set, but the tunes were enjoyable and it did add to an even more satisfying evening. Overall, it was a terrific night out with a few friends, as we enjoyed great food and terrific service in a comfortable atmosphere........all for a pretty reasonable price. I'd say it was a win. 5 stars and I Highly Recommend. Keep up the great work J.J. Coopers!!! read more

We made a 30th birthday surprise party for my daughter today at JJ Coopers and it was exceptional. From start to finish everything was perfect. The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing and the staff were friendly and so attentive. We started planning this a few months ago and from the start, Matt was knowledgeable, friendly and very accommodating. Today the wait staff/team of Michelle and John were also very friendly and accommodating. All of our guests, including our family members and friends had a great time. Our First and most likely our Last time here, because of the Extreme Noise coming from the Bar, also the slowness of the service. As for the quality of the food, it was fair, but far from the best that we have had in places near by. The deinks were a bit over prices and small but good tasting. Bottom Line: Would we return? My wife and I both had the LB Chop salad which was an additional $3 but was excellent. Fresh ingredients and delicious. My wife ordered the petite filet and I had the Rib steak. Both were done just as ordered. While the rib steak was not large enough, it was delicious. I had grilled asparagus and creamed spinach and my wife had baked potato and asparagus. No dessert or beverage was included or needed, and we both had wine with our steaks. We both enjoyed our dinner and would certainly recommend Jj Cooper. My wife and visited JJCoopers on a Wednesday evening because a well known guitar player was featured - Terrence of a Witches Brew. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and promptly seated at a a table. The waitress was excellent and suggested the mini-meatball sliders which we ordered. She brought our drinks quickly and soon after the sliders arrived - and they were absolutely delicious. We were not rushed at all , and the waitress was most attentive checking in with us regularly to see if we needed anything. The room is cozy and we very much liked the brick and wood that comprised the environment. The bar was quite large with plenty of TV's to watch sports.
