Last week me and my nephew stopped to JJ Coopers in Long Beach. I haven't been in LB in a long time. WoW! how this place got so build up. There is plenty of parking. Our Service, Olivia was terrific. The place is very spacious inside and the is very clean. My nephew had the burger, I had the French Soup and a burger too. The food is very good. Last night, my boyfriend and I were very hungry, so we were eager to try out a new restaurant in the Long Beach area!! We typically go to Brixx and Barley, but we have recently had a few negative dining experiences there, so JJ Coopers it was!! We arrived at around 6 pm and it was fairly empty. However, by the time we left around an hour and some time later, it was a full house! From the live music to the refreshing air conditioning throughout the large dining area, it was definitely a very pleasant evening. Not only did the place itself have a chill and fun atmosphere, but our waitress, Corinne, could not have been any nicer and more patient with us!!! We flooded her with questions and requests, and she was beyond friendly and accommodating. There's really nothing better than impeccable service (besides from tasty food, obviously). As an appetizer, we ordered the balsamic brussel sprouts! They definitely weren't the tastiest brussel sprouts I've ever had in the area, but they hit the spot!! I would only recommend a bit more balsamic glaze and for them to be a tad bit crispier. The onions/shallots on top were so yummy! For my entree, I got the turkey burger that was infused with honey garlic and topped with avocado and retried beans. I got sweet fries on the side. My boyfriend ordered the Coop burger with normal fries. The flavors were awesome!! My only critique is that both myself and my boyfriend did not like the buns. They were far too thick and heavy. Perhaps a brioche or something softer/thinner would work so much better since the burgers are quite decadent as is! The sweet fries were crazy good! Not the best culinary experience I've had in the Long Beach area, but it's still quality food with ambience and service that is out of the park! We will definitely be back! read more

I just recently hosted a retirement party here for my parents, and it truly could not have been a better experience. From first contact to the day of the event, Matt was so responsive and receptive to my requests. It was a seamless and stress free planning process, which made planning a surprise party so much easier. We did cocktail style passed appetizers, which were all delicious and plentiful for our about 60 person party! The wait and bar staff was so kind and helpful as well!! Everyone had a fantastic time and my parents had a retirement party to remember! I went here for the first time a few weeks ago and had a great experience. I had heard the food was good but was a bit skeptical just because there are not a ton of great restaurants in Long Beach, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was and felt they had a fantastic menu. I came here with friends for brunch and they are one of the few places in Long Beach to serve bottomless drinks (mimosas, bloody mary's, screwdrivers, beer) for I believe $25/person. Though it didn't have the same fun/rowdy brunch vibe as nearby Brixx & Barley, we really enjoyed our waiter and it was kind of nice to have a quieter experience. The quinoa fried shrimp tacos were excellent, as was the waffle chicken sandwich and the cookies n cream pancake. I was also really impressed with their variety of gluten free and vegetarian options. Came on a Sunday evening. The place was pretty empty compared to other places nearby and I should have taken that as an omen. I was looking forward to some seafood/ran cakes but they didn't have much of that. There was live music which was nice and the place is bright. The menu leaves much to be desired and seems a bit over priced. I got the Baja fish tacos which were pretty good and tried the garlic wings with fries. All just decent bar food level. My wife and visited JJCoopers on a Wednesday evening because a well known guitar player was featured - Terrence of a Witches Brew. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and promptly seated at a a table. The waitress was excellent and suggested the mini-meatball sliders which we ordered. She brought our drinks quickly and soon after the sliders arrived - and they were absolutely delicious. We were not rushed at all , and the waitress was most attentive checking in with us regularly to see if we needed anything. The room is cozy and we very much liked the brick and wood that comprised the environment. The bar was quite large with plenty of TV's to watch sports. Went on a Saturday afternoo. After making reservations online with yelp. We got there and there was no reservation despite the app telling me I had it. ‍. They sat us anyway. the place was beautiful. Live music, quick ordering service and attentive waitress. We ordered a veggie quesadilla, eggs Benedict, truffle fries, kids hot dog, and the waffle burger. We liked everything but the burger. Sadly that one was mine. The waffle was soggy and didn't belong on a burger as it had stronger flavors then the burger itself. There was definitely maple and cinnamon on the waffle... usually these type of burgers have a plain waffle but a flavorful burger. So I quietly took off the waffle and left the burger, cheese, egg, and bacon. Despite all these ingredients the burger had 0 flavor and was definitely a frozen burger. I also asked asked sweet potato fries but got regular. Oh well. This is why I gave the 3 stars. Luckily everyone else was super happy and the fries were delicious. Maybe next time. read more

So the food was great. The whole fam was happy. Been on a kick of getting specials and the bacon-wrapped scallop was great and the ribs were equally fantastic. Issue: Friday night at 7pm I show up with wife and 2 kids. I'm told 20-minute wait and we're cool with it. Something like 30 mins later it feels like we're being passed over so I ask and they tell me they only have high-tops. I ask to see it (my kids can sit at a high top) and when he goes to show there was some open tables... I dunno, kinda felt like they didn't want the kids in there. Had an awesome time here at JJ Cooper's when I went there with friends on a saturday night. They had tables set up thag were distant from eachother and staff was taking necessary precautions. I heard about Jj Cooper from a friend of mine and decided to go try it out. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a huge bar as soon as you walk in and with tables around the bar as well as in smaller rooms. I had a Lb salad and added salmon to it. The salad was delicious with a variety of ingredients in it which were fresh and flavorful. The salmon was made perfectly as I had asked for it on the rarer side. My husband got the pork chop special which he said was delicious. It came with a side of pulled pork Mac and cheese. The place was filled with different ages of people. Stopped in last night for a quick bite, completely random pick - and WOW. Boyfriend and I were completely blown away by the food. Everything on the menu looked really different and delicious- it was really hard to decide. Rob, the amazing bartender we had, helped guide our choices and we ended up with the LAMB TACOS, which omg - definitely will order every time! The flavors together worked so well, it was the best taco I think I ever had! Then we had the short rib panini and the Kung Pao Calamari - both amazing!!! The calamari was in a delicious Asian sauce with peanuts and BANANAS, which as skeptical as we were we needed to see what this was about. Sure enough it wowed us again. House margaritas were $5 for their Wednesday deal - YUMMM! After our meal we had to compliment the chef - it was really THAT good! I sought out a place with burgers to cure my wedding party hangover. Once I saw the unique burger menu, I was sold. I got an order of traditional wings with hot honey sauce. We stumbled in here after experiencing hunger pangs from the beach. The restaurant was recommended to us by a Long Beach local working on the boardwalk. She said that they had a variety of good cuisine. We were seated right away and tended to by a waiter pretty quickly. We downed the first bottle of the water they brought out almost instantly and they immediately brought another. That was the first sign that the service was spot on. Our waiter took our food and drink orders promptly. We ordered the Watermelon Berry Sangria which was light in color and came garnished with a strawberry. It was refreshing and not too sweet. To eat, I ordered the ginger-teriyaki dry rubbed wings and the truffle cheese fries. Both were decent for off-the-boardwalk food. They came out hot and had a decent amount of flavor. Another person in our party ordered the Beyond Burger and she said it was good. It tasted just like a well done beef burger. The waiter was attentive and checked up on us regularly.
