The food was so awful. The stuffed chicken- the chicken was literally raw. Undercooked and just downright gross. My date bit into it and pulled a large piece of plastic out of his mouth and the waiter, who didn't speak any English, came over and smiled and said that it was just from the packaging. And said it's not a big deal... I speak Spanish fluently so I had no problems communicating with her that this was unacceptable. The manager took it off the bill. How noble of him. I digress, the arroz con pollo tasted good but as soon as I finished eating I got the runs. I started sweating and shaking. I've been sick ever since I left last night. I ordered the food late last night. I ed quickly. I drank and enjoyed the vanilla-chocolate shake. I opened the mofongo con cerdo. It was dry. I opened the Spaghetti with pollo. The sauce and pasta were delicious. The chicken was hard to chew and tasteless. But the worst was the manager who I called this Am. She could not offer any resolution. She said there was a sign posted for the takeout line. She repeated that the complaint should have been given last night. Things are hard for everyone these days. This place I do take out and I dine in sometimes also. The food is good, I normally stick to pepper steak. I found my dish and I don't drift from that. I like this restaurant because you can buy lunch special even at dinner time. The service was mediocre when I dined in. Went for lunch today. Surprised and delighted by charming atmosphere. Lively spot for party's and dinner. Friendly service and really good food. Portions were generous . Came on a Saturday night. Walked in and was partially greeted. Told the hostess she looked pretty to get a smile. Seated right away. My server was really nice. Everything ordered came out in 10 mins or less. Started with the calamari and chicken empanadas. Both were tasty. My BF ordered the red snapper. He very much enjoyed it. I had the bbq ribs which were kind of tuff. But the bbq sauce was really good. Both entrees came with rice and beans, plantain and salad. They are open late in Freeport and that is why I know this place. The food is always fresh. It is so neatly tucked away inside a small mall with several other stores. You can easily miss this place. If you miss it, it will be your loss. There is anglass partition that separates the mall stores and provides a buffer between the opening and the parking lot. I like that fact and you will like it too especially in the winter time. It may seem like a small place from the outside, but it can actually hold alot of people. They section off different booths to keep the social distancing new normal. They have a couple of tv's and sports is the normal on them. Johnny, who is a great host will most likely great you and sitnyou down. He does alot in there. He may not always seem approachable, but he is a friendly person always ready to greet customers. The have a full bar and many items on the menu. It takes a few minutes to receive your food because it is always fresh! I mostly have ordered the fried pork pieces (chicharron de cerdo), pork chops, fried red snapper and finally tried the baked chicken. All are trendy, and I would recommend the chicken gravy to go along with it. The chicken is extremely tender with lots of great flavor to it. You have a choice of rice and beans, tostones or other items. The rice and beans come with maduros ( sweet plaintains) and rice can be white or yellow. Both a good and plentiful. They make nice desserts also...cheesecake, tres leches or flan. You are doing yourself a disservice if you do not try their food. I highly recommend returning because they close late. Service was exceptional; my family loves the fried pork belly chicharron. My Chicken sandwich was good. French fries could have been cooked for a while longer. They charged us for an extra drink and added a small gratuity to the bill. I usually tip 20% on the total bill and even more for excellent service. My first of 2022 and I'm excited to share. I was visiting family for NYE weekend and before hitting the road wanted to get some good Dominican/Latin food to take back with me lol. I ordered via Yelp and was happy I did. The order came on time and everything well packed. This is my biggest peeve with restaurants where they don't provide utensils, sauces, etc and not pack the food well. You don't have to worry about that here. The menu is extensive so I ordered a few things to try them out. My orders was chicken soup, oxtail lunch special and chicharrones de pollo (fried chicken/chicken skins). The soup was nice and light yet filling. The chicharrones de pollo were so yummy and they give you plenty of rice and beans. The oxtail was awesome and again the portions are huge and the prices are so fair. I also loved they included Cholula hot sauce packets. I really appreciated the well cooked food not too greasy and over seasoned like a lot of Latin spots. I told all my fam in the area to not sleep on this place. GRACIAS!!!! read more

My daughter had the fried tilapia which was over fried not golden brown! Not what I usually get from this place. When I complained to the manager she was offended she questioned the amount that I ate. I explained that it was as a hit or miss. I was wrong but anyhow I ordered a vodka with passion fruit and cranberry I do not know the name of the drink however it's on the menu and my friend ordered the green machine. My drink had a bunch of white stuff on the bottom and I returned it immediately it was terrible and he didn't like his drink either but chose not to complain about it but also not drink it. [Waste] i then ordered a vodka with pineapple and a splash of cranberry they gave me a cup of vodka with cranberry and a drop of pineapple I just drank it because at this point they don't listen and I'm tired of complaining about a drink.... BTW all the drinks are filled with ice and I mean topped with ice even after they are made big NO! NO! For food I ordered garlic shrimp with white rice red beans and it comes with 3 plantains He ordered the yellow rice with shrimp it comes mixed. Before our food we get side salads which they gave a dressing with dressing all on the side very messy and it tasted horrible now from this moment I knew If the salad was bad the food is going to be worse. Wish I took a picture of the container to show how they gave it to us smh. Anyhow the food now comes out it looks good I'm like I may have been wrong first bite we both look at each other the food was COLD I MEAN COLD NOT ROOM TEMP COLD COLD!!!!!!!!! The main reason I'm giving two stars is because the service was terrible! I specifically came when they were not busy. However, when I first walked in the lady at the bar did not greet me nor asked if I was ready to place an order. I finally placed my order but she was on the phone the entire time and ending up giving me someone else's food, which I didn't notice until I got home. One other member of the staff was very rude as well! I tried to ask if they take reservations and she put her hand up and walked away... The first order I got was the Mofongo with steak. Which the meat was really good. The second order was Mofongo with fried chicken, and that was okay. The chicken was not that flavorful. I ordered a side of plaintains, and they were really good. I have a lot of mixed feelings on this place. First of all, I love all the mofongo choices here. Mofongo is my favorite and they have many options! I've tried a bunch: mofongo de bistec encebollado, mofongo de camarones en salsa, mofongo de churrasco, mofongo de credo. All were good, though my favorite is probably the camarones en salsa because it has a very mild spice to it. Just wish they offered a very spicy option. Portions and prices are pretty fair. But the service isn't the best. People who work here have been pretty cold in my experience. It's a shame because with better service I would come a lot more often. read more

I am sick and tired of ordering from this place which apparently has no organization and lack competent staff. It's almost every single time I order from them they completely mess up my order. They make us waste time and money and continue to make wrong orders. Really don't know why I have continued to go there.
