My food took forever bc they lost my receipt, my entire order was wrong, and they individually wrapped each container so I left with 4 small bags and they handed me my soda (mind you this was only for me). This is one of my favorite go to restaurants I had not been in a while . I was hoping the food was the same. I had questions before ordering on Door Dash I called the restaurant and spoke to Diego. He was so accommodating to all of the questions I had very patient never became annoyed. Just a pleasant person food came exactly as I requested it I had to call the restaurant back to give kudos to the chef food is just absolutely delicious. I had the grilled salmon which was 2 nice sized pieces of salmon along with some green beans baked potato, rice and beans and they accommodated me with a salad. The salmon is cooked perfectly. I did not need a salt or a pepper on any of this food The food is just seasoned very very well I did use the green sauce. It is delicious as well and I can tell it is homemade OMG! Amazing ! I have leftovers! Kudos to the Chef and all those in the kitchen Diego, you are more than accommodating and I greatly appreciate it .Keep up the good work and dedication to your craft of cooking and making people happy you made me happy this day. What a delicious find not to far from home. I was in the mood for Colombian food and Yelp led me here. There is a private parking lot behind the restaurant which is a plus. It's a large dining space with a full bar. There is music playing and lots of movement inside. I was seated promptly and my order was taken. It was a hit afternoon and I was in the mood for a drink but wanted something Colombian. I ordered Refajo which is Colombiana soda mixed with Cerveza Aguilar. It was a hit! Cooled me down and tasted so good. The empanadas came out piping hot and burnt my fingers to grab. It was just how I like my food and the flavor matched it's presentation. Full of meat and crispy shell. The Plato típico or the typical player was huge! Mountain of white rice, lake of beans, an entire maduro, huge chicharrón, good sized steak, fried egg and avocado. I saw this plate and my eyes lit up! I began eating and only remember coming up for air or a drink, beyond that I showed this dish no mercy. The flavors were on point steak was full of flavor, the rice and beans complimented each other, the fried egg and avocado alway pair well. Brenda is so great...some of her coworkers are not as nice...maybe this is why they have 3.5 stars. Brenda was very attentive and with a very nice personality. The food is consistent, but it is the service people that makes it better. Brenda fron the beginning was nice and maintained her niceness throughout. Her coworkers are not as nice. I would only come back if Brenda is there again. Had the fried red snapper, with yuca fries and salad. It came with salad also which was fresh. Brenda stands out. One of the guys at the end, all I asked was for sone of their spicy sauce to go. He ignore me, and when I told Brenda what he did, he got mad. You are not supposed to get mad at paying customers. Maybe he should find another Job instead of serving customers. He had a goatee and like I said, he has no idea its the customers that pay the rent and his check. There's no better taste for authentic Colombian food than Mi Tierrita . Have been coming here for years and the food never disappoints though the service can lack the Colombian service but then again most servers there aren't . The ambiance speaks for the food itself since it's always packed and busy . Highly recommend. read more

My second visit here, first time was the best. I know we came in 1 hour before closing but the service from the waitress still should've been better. Service determines tip....low service equals low tip. I ordered a pina piña colada with Hennessy. The piña colada was horrible. It was more like crushed ice with water on it. No pineapple, flavor no coconut flavor no milk flavor. It was horrible. After we received our entrées, the waitress never checked on us again. I really like the place. Ive ordered a couple times from here and the food is good but the phone ordering is a mess, one day we can just call in and pay in store and then yesterday I called to put in my order and when i got to the place they never put in my order because I didn't pay over the phone (which they didn't tell me about either?) They still took my order when I got there but I had to wait extra which was unnecessary. I ordered the Sobrebarriga a la crilloa and it was good a little watery but I enjoyed it. Seafood dish comes with s tasty creamy tomato based broth. Guess I should get the rotisserie chicken to see why this place is so highly rated. Delicioso!! This restaurant served delicious Columbian food. We went on a Sunday and it did seem crowded but we were seated immediately. The restaurant had a very authentic feel and the waiters were very friendly. There is a parking lot in the back which is convenient. We had beef empanadas. They were pretty good, not anything crazy. Just standard all beef empanadas. I ordered "Mi Tierrita" Special Platter and my family got the Typical Platter. The meal was great. I loved the rice and beans and the steak and pork loin. You also get a lot of food in the portion which means you will most likely have leftovers for later. I would recommend coming her for great Columbian food. Wow! I wish I'd known about this place sooner. I yelped Colombian restaurants because my boyfriend was craving it, and to my surprise, Mi Tierrita Restaurant came up just 10 minutes from my home! This is located right across V&T supermarket which i've been going to for years now. This place is so vibrant. The music, soccer on tv, a huge bar, the little roof tiles as decoration on the ceiling. The placemats had a flag quiz on it so that you can learn flags of the world while waiting for food. We ordered coffee, chicharron con arepa $6.75 (on top of a salad), and a typical platter for $16.45 (sweet plantain, half an avocado, egg, delicious marinated steak, chicharron, arepa, and rice and beans). Don't worry if you don't speak much Spanish, the menu is written in both Spanish and English. You can learn by looking at both sides without worrying you're ordering something you may not want to eat! I do wish that the waitress had looked at me when I was ordering though. I felt like she didn't want to talk to me maybe because of our language barrier or because my boyfriend spoke Spanish to her? I'm worried that my table would be ignored the next time I go if I don't go with my boyfriend. To be honest, I really wanted to love the coffee, but it wasn't good. The rest of the food was delicious and the portions were very generous. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. The steak was perfectly cooked. It was soft and very marinated but there were no grill lines on it giving it a charred flavor. The plantain, avocado and eggs were all perfect in complimenting the rice and bean combo. The rice and beans here are so good. I could eat this endlessly. I was so full by the end of this meal, but the rice and beans were so delicious, I just had to keep eating it. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. It's my first time here and I came for breakfast . I order "mi Tierrita breakfast " the special of the house which come with "calentado " (mixed rice and beans) "carne asada" (steak) scramble eggs and "arepa" (grilled cake ) and Colombian cheese . It took took longer than I anticipated, The food arrive cold. The arepa was way to small, the calentado was very salty and the steak was small and very hard to chew . My hot chocolate was not hot and was almost the size of an expresso. The prize is fine at $11.50 if you are getting quality. There are too many Colombian restaurants in this city and this one is really nice But the good has to improve . read more

On a Friday night, I was in the mood for Filipino food. Unfortunately , I found out Manila Hut was permanently closed. Disheartened, I looked for the closest restaurant I can find in the area. So I came across Mi Tierrita. It had ample parking at the back. This is not a fancy place but looked like a go to Latin restaurant in the area . Busy inside but they managed and you can flag any servers to get the attention of your server. I only want sanconcho and they served it with rice and beans. What I loved with this place is you can switch the rice for salad and their beans with Maduros. Darwin, my server is excellent. Speaks English well and prompt to my request. The serving is gigantic and delicious. Price is incredibly affordable. I am giving 5 star in its class. read more

I must confess, I've only had one specific thing and I have always taken it out. I've been to Mi Tierrita about 5 times and the grilled salmon dinner is my go to..every time! The flavor is amazing and the fish is grilled to perfection with all the right seasonings for that authentic Columbian taste. The service is friendly and prompt. They offer a relaxed and casual atmosphere where you can stop by alone after work or come with a group of friends. They have a large open bar in one of the dining areas. Try this spot. I was shopping in the area and this spot came up on yelp. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Since it was just me I sat at the bar. I got a Margarita, chicken soup and Arroz con Pollo and plantains. The Margarita was right on point. I was very happy about that. It was just one of those days after running around and all you want is a perfect drink. That certainly hit the spot. The soup was good. It needed a little more seasoning. There were tiny bones but that didn't really bother me too much. Honestly, I didn't care too much for the Plantains. I enjoyed the Arroz con Pollo which came with chorizo. I wish it had more heat/spice to it though. The portion size was pretty big. I couldn't finish it all but at least I had lunch for the next day.
