Service was efficient and friendly. Casual, no nonsense atmosphere. Order at the counter and either sit and eat or take out if you choose. Restaurant looked very clean. My wife and i tried millenium chicken for takeout, and I'd say it met expectations though nothing stood out as exceptional. We ordered the whole chicken with green sauce, rice and beans (ordered yellow rice, received white), and maduros. With tax, it was just north of $48, and it would fed 3 average people. read more

I can't believe the difference in the food. I went on Wednesday September 8, and although the young lady didn't appear to know who the owners were, and was quite busy , the food was O K, not great as has been my past experiences. I ordered my usual, Half Chicken, Avocado Salad and Beans, with extra sauce, 2 for a dollar. My friend Charlene and I had been going to enjoy this fare for years and have never ever been disappointed, until this past week. I returned yesterday , Thursday September 9th with another friend, and we both were disappointed. The Chicken was very dry and overcooked and the Beans were Salty. I was embarrassed because I have telling people about this place for years, and bought someone new to try this Restaurant. Let me say first that this review is written with the hope that this improves the managing of this business not to hurt them in any way. I been coming to this place for the last year, the food is good, I've ordered at this point almost everything in the menu and I haven't been disappointed. Is not the best in the world but is good for the price. The problem that I have always have is the attention, as soon as you walk in the door you get this bad look like "omg what is this one want now" kinda thing, and it doesn't matter if you eat in or ask the food to go or if you called in advanced for pick up. The counter lady is rude, unhelpful, she doesn't even look at you when you talk to her, is like she doesn't want to be there. I have tried to figure it out if it is because she busy at the time but it has been times that is no one in the place and she has the same attitude. So with all thIs said if you don't mind this go there and enjoy the food, but if you care the way that you are treated don't go because she's going to make you upset. Disgusting service , Worst service ever , been eating here for yearsssss 2-3 times a week. The one time food came freezing cold and they didn't add extra sauces.. I wasn't mad at all I asked for was another plate to replace the cold plate. After 10 mins on the phone Lady tells me to bring the plate in and she will replace. I had to leaveee work! to come to the restaraunt just for them to tell me they theres nothing they can do for me they are not replacing the plate. After years of eating here I will never eat here again. Ive recommended this place to a bunch of people over the years just for them to treat me like this. I've never going back to this place. They over charge you 1st off. Then.....I noticed a guy that was taking the chicken out of the machine was scratching himself. It was gross. Then...they have a sign that says if you pay cash you get a discount. I paid cash and they charged me full boat. Not cool. False advertising. 15,minutes for rice and chicken .. turned into 36 minutes walking in and my order was not even done ... they looked at me surprised like I did not call service needs help . Short staff food is good but needs structure serious help . Next time you hear 15 min means one hour total tine 39 min 46 seconds ! This place gets 3 stars cause of the green sauce. Everything else lacks significantly. The service is terrible, and the food is mediocre. But in this area - it's probably the best Spanish food around. Chicken Coop has been my new Go to especially since they deliver. I ordered tostones the other day and requested that they be thin and extra crispy. I think they purposely made them thick and nearly raw. When I called - she apologized, but offered nothing in return for my horrible tostones. Not even a credit or a "come back I'll make you some fresh ones". Nothing. Just "sorry señora, I'm sorry". 3 stars???! No waay!!! This place is on par with pio pio on Northern in Queens! The chicken is always seasoned perfectly!! A bit oily at times but always juicy, never dry!! The chaufa, again, perfectly seasoned! I am hispanic so my tastes differ from other cultures. Some might think it might be a tad on the salty side..but I think the seasoning blend is perfect! This is defntly a bit on the "hood" side..but all the best spots are "hood" spots! And guess what..I always call ahead because they are ALWAYS busy...im not writing this review in attempt to give them more business, they are doing just fine without my one review..I write this review because I've tried different Peruvian spots in the area i.e Franklin Square, lynbrook, east Rock, elmont, a.d valley stream! There is a reason why I do pick up only. There are a couple of waitresses. One is nice, and the other one is not. It looks like she is doing you the kindness of providing you with a valuable commodity, which, in fact, is true... THE CHICKEN Like I said, been coming here for years. This is the good stuff, juicy, tender, the skin, mmhmhhm. The sauce you pour it in. That's all you need to know. I came here with my dad and my sister for dinner. We ordered the millennium combo #2 and I was quite unhappy with my service. There was only one waitress and she was terrible. We had to wait nearly 5 minutes for menus! Then on top of that we ordered our meal with waters and we never received our waters! The food arrived and the food was quite tasty. However, salad was part of the combo and we never received our salad. The chicken was out of this world! It was great and I love the yellow rice with beans. The fries needed more salt and the waitress did not offer us ketchup. She did not do her job well. On top of that, I asked for a water one more time and she gave me a bottle of water. I didn't ask for a bottle! I asked for a cup of water. This lady was just an idiot and top of that she put her own tip on the bill for a party of 3. What an idiot! I was looking for a good ceviche de camarón. Since they do have good beans and chicken. The ceviche was not what I was expecting and to have spent more then 15$ on it..it was a shame. The shrimps were very tiny and tasteless. Almost tasted like pre-cooked cheap shrimps. I have also posted a picture of the shrimps. And as an Ecuadorian who loves the Peruvian style ceviche I would not recommend. They might have other great plates but turn around if you're looking for ceviche. read more

Having gone to this restaurant a handful of times in the recent year my and my family's experiences has been mixed but mostly negative. Orders take long, the service is mediocre, and the food average at best. In comparison to other Peruvian restaurants on LI and in NYC, the only saving grace of this restaurant is their rotisserie chicken. My last experience left much to be desired, both the ceviche and the lomo saltado were poor. The beef was chewy and of poor quality; the person I was eating with ended up not being able to eat half the pieces. The fish was stale and unappetizing, adorned with a stiff piece of corn and a not fully peeled piece of potato. We ended up not even finishing either plate which were overpriced for their quality. As a Peruvian, I do not recommend this restaurant. There are nicer locales with better food in neighboring Lynbrook and further out in Hicksville and Queens. read more

I ordered the quarter chicken lunch special take out the other day. Whatta disappointment. This was my first time ordering from this place and it'll be my last. The meal came with a quarter roasted chicken, white rice and beans. The yellow rice is 50 cents extra. The white rice was so soggy and mushy. The meal lack flavor even with the green sauce. The green sauce had a weird tangy taste and it seems to be watered down compared to Pio Pio's sauce. The chicken is average, nothing special. The meal should come with a piece of plantain or a tostone's for it's price. Good friendly service though. read more

We have been a fan of the other Millenium Chicken place in Hempstead Ave for years. Then we tried the rotisserie chicken here, and amazingly it's even better. The meat falls off the bone and the skin is thin and nicely seasoned. Green sauce is #1. The rice and beans is awesome but I can't speak for anything else on the menu. I agree that the one lady that runs the counter, cash register, phones, and waits on tables doesn't try to fake being happy. At first I thought it was me being non-Hispanic and speaking in English, but that's not so. She eventually does get us what we want - just don't come here if you are in a rush. And the order came in a big container that was packed with a bunch of rice an a handful of beans and a small piece of chicken for eight dollars.
