I've had Rincon Dominicano bookmarked for the longest time and finally made it here! This is definitely a neighborhood secret! All the locals line up for this delicious food, and it's so worth it! Delicious food, great prices, generous portion sizes, large variety of menu options, great customer service! They have a HUGE menu! (See my menu photos). Most items (not all) are premade, and kept in hot steamer tables, ready for your order. There are a few items that are made to order. Our mofongo took about 15 min for them to make, but we didn't mind. The entire staff is so friendly and accommodating. They took such great care in packaging our food. I was so impressed! Each item is overflowing the containers since the portions are very generous. They make sure to wrap each item individually, in plastic wrap, to avoid any kind of spillage. Don't waste any of the delicious juices and gravy! I really appreciated that the food didn't get spilled in the car before I got home! Kudos to the staff! We tried: -- Sancocho Soup ($11/Large): comes with a pint of white rice. Comfort food at it's best. Very good! -- Mofongo w.Pork ($10): comes with a small container of gravy. The Mofongo itself was a bit dry but good after you include some gravy. Very good and worth the wait! This was a great first experience and I can't wait to go back to try their goat stew, roast pork and other goodies. This restaurant is very busy, so the fast turnover for the food kept the dishes fresh and tasty. Rincon Dominicano is more of a takeout place but if you'd like to eat in, they do have about 10 stool seatings by the counter looking out of the window. Restaurant is very clean. The way this food will make you sick and bloated. Extremely salty and high on toxic ingredients (everything is orange wth). It's sad how restaurants now a days are so inconsiderate with there ingredients. All they care is about the money and not quality to there customers. I had bake chicken rice and beans and salad a large cost me $16.50. They gave a lot of food but I would've rather went to a restaurant. It's take out only like deli style you pick what you want. Long day in Long Island... before the drive back to Brooklyn I had to grab something small to eat. I searched nearby on Yelp and o.1 miles away was rincon noted to be a hidden gem... off I went! Street meter parking available easily... friendly staff (my Spanish is the worst but I tried). I ordered the small pernil combo with arroz con handles and plantains..... she packed that food in like hipsters in a rush hour L train .... Squeezed the container closed and wrapped in plastic wrap... I already knew I'd be sharing what I could t finish when I got home... around 6$ later I was ready to roadtrip back to Brooklyn. Had to use the bathroom, and unfortunately it's a to go place with no public restroom.... Thankfully one worker escorted me to use the employee bathroom and I have never felt so indebted to a stranger ( that ride back in rush hour would've killed me). Ordered lunch today for my sister and my mom from this establishment. They reported that the food was delicious. Customer service in terms of the driver was expertly handled the fish however was on the dry side still quite delicious but a bit dry all in all the order was expertly packed, and it was very well presented, and we will be ordering from them again. Also, the fees were reasonable for delivery, which makes it a plus considering some of the restaurants nearby have gotten so expensive. read more

Please understand that if you're coming here you must be prepared to eat and eat ALOT, the portions are huge and we are not complaining. This place has become our go to for Dominican food on Long Island after trying other spots in the area. So far we have have tried the following: Rice and beans: 4 stars, not five because it's definitely not like my moms but you get picture. Craving some good rice and beans, luckily enough I live near some Spanish neighborhoods. Drove around and noticed this place had a decent crowd, even though it was almost 1:30 in the afternoon. Parking is tough in this area but I got a spot a block away and so happy I did. Place is tiny, counter service and typical Spanish food buffet. You tell them what you want and they load you up and I mean they load you up. Slight language barrier but everything looked absolutely delish. Got rice with black beans, but you can't see it because of the pernil and what I think she said was beef stew - turned out to braised pig knuckles which was totally amazing. The roast pork was cooked to perfection. I think my food weighed at least 3 pounds if not more - all for less than $15. I'll get at least 4 meals out of it! read more

I must say I rate this food, a 0 out of 10! I ordered the lunch special at approximately 12 o'clock the pernil was very dry and had no taste. White rice and beans that had no taste either. I got a side order of Tostones. It was super hard and again no taste. It's not like the food was sitting out for a while and I got whatever was left over. I've passed by this place when traveling through Hempstead. I decided to give it a shot. They have everything you expect with a Dominican restaurant. I ordered a large roast pork (pernil), rice & beans, a plantain piece (I could have ordered mored), along with lettuce and tomato. The pork actually reminded me of southern pulled pork. It was very moist and tasty. Much different than the Dominican spots that I frequent in Brooklyn. The beans were okay. I loved the lettuce and tomato with the oil and vinegar that they provide in small caps. Overall, not bad. I'll likely come back when I'm in the area. I'll try their chicken the next time as the pork was very heavy (very moist means very fat). The service was good. No ambiance. This is take and go. Ok so my wife and I were on the hunt for "chicharrón de pollo con hueso" this is essentially Dominican fried chicken with the bone. After calling our go to Dominican places, we were disappointed to find out they only made it boneless, which makes it fried chicken strips, not chicharrón de pollo how it's traditionally made. After a quick Yelp search we called this place and hoorayy! They made it the traditional way!!! We called and placed the order over the phone. The girl who took our order was very friendly. We decided to also try a "monfongo with chicharrón" which is mashed green plantains with fried pork, this was absolutely delicious!!! The portions here were super reasonable and the prices as well. They mush of wiped down the counter space where they laid the fish on top of and it picked up the smell. Not good!!! They really need to fix that. Rincon Dominicano Restaurant, is a great place to stop by if you are looking for great prices for a large amount of food, or on the go. When you first walk in they have a buffet style theme, were the workers serve you huge portions! The seating arrangement is one long diner style counter top with stools for customers. Me personally it's a bit small to have a sit down meal with a family but perfect if your by yourself. On the family combo menu I had ordered, the oxtail stew, with plantains, salad and the steam vegetables. On the side my foodie and crime ordered a beef empanada, and a small pernil (shredded pork). I must say there food was decent. The shredded pork was delicious, me personally it would have been great with more lemon or a slice of lemon but very fresh. The beef empanada was very flavorful. The stew oxtails was decent. The flavor was there but not my favorite thing out of my meal. Last but not least the steam vegetables was HORRIBLE! For one it was a bit over cooked, had no flavor at all, you can taste that they but a lot of garlic in it but no salt or pepper. Was a bit disappointed with the steam vegetables that my whole family didn't even want to eat it at all! The favorite of everything is there delicious sweet plantains!! Those things are AMAZING! See? This is why I write reviews. I was scrolling through my list of "Your next review awaits," and when I saw El Rincon Dominicano, I thought, "what restaurant is that? When did I go there?" But then when I saw the address, it all came back to me! I was in the area for something (and for those of you who know the area, you can probably take a decent guess at what that was) in the morning, but I was hungry. Rather than go to a regular chain location for food, I stopped in here for their empanadas. Had a beef one as I walked out that was so good, I walked right back in to order more, this time both beef and chicken. I decided that I'd try their cheese one out as well. I saved that for the car ride home, and I immediately realized my mistake: the cheese empananda may have been the best of the bunch, but now I was trapped in a car that was moving further and further away from El Rincon Dominicano. If I am ever there again to conduct business (please God, no), I will make sure to stop by. And who knows? Maybe I'll just go out of my way to get more empanadas. read more

Looking for some good food after church yesterday and was so pleased to have gone to this restaurant. The amount of food we received with the family plan was incredible and for under $25!!! In the family plan, we had yellow rice, black beans, baked chicken, plantains and salad. Oh and they included a liter of soda for free! Every single item was delicious and so satisfying. For my family of four, we have enough food for dinner again tonight. I have so happy to have found this gem.. very, very good Dominican restaurant and great customer service. read more

This place is terrible with customer service All the females bring their personal problems to work and lash out at the customers not providing them with a correct order my pregnant wife asked for a simple toasted bread with butter she got a piece of greasy mush cold bread my wife asked politely if they can please re toast the bread and her answer was no we don't have toaster we can't re do or fix it that's how we serve it take it or leave it she asked for a refund and the lady threw her money across the counter and walked off talking very negative with an attitude How can I trust someone with food with that type of attitude?
