Long day in Long Island... before the drive back to Brooklyn I had to grab something small to eat. I searched nearby on Yelp and o.1 miles away was rincon noted to be a hidden gem... off I went! Street meter parking available easily... friendly staff (my Spanish is the worst but I tried). I ordered the small pernil combo with arroz con handles and plantains..... she packed that food in like hipsters in a rush hour L train .... Squeezed the container closed and wrapped in plastic wrap... I already knew I'd be sharing what I could t finish when I got home... around 6$ later I was ready to roadtrip back to Brooklyn. Had to use the bathroom, and unfortunately it's a to go place with no public restroom.... Thankfully one worker escorted me to use the employee bathroom and I have never felt so indebted to a stranger ( that ride back in rush hour would've killed me). Great service and the most flavorful rice I've ever had out of a restaurant... tasting like someone's Tia prepared it with love. Don't hesitate to try if you're in the area.

Craving some good rice and beans, luckily enough I live near some Spanish neighborhoods. Drove around and noticed this place had a decent crowd, even though it was almost 1:30 in the afternoon. Parking is tough in this area but I got a spot a block away and so happy I did. Place is tiny, counter service and typical Spanish food buffet. You tell them what you want and they load you up and I mean they load you up. Slight language barrier but everything looked absolutely delish. Got rice with black beans, but you can't see it because of the pernil and what I think she said was beef stew - turned out to braised pig knuckles which was totally amazing. The roast pork was cooked to perfection. I think my food weighed at least 3 pounds if not more - all for less than $15. I'll get at least 4 meals out of it!

Roast pork, salad, and rice & beans (they're in there ;-). Enough for two.

I've passed by this place when traveling through Hempstead. I decided to give it a shot. They have everything you expect with a Dominican restaurant. I ordered a large roast pork (pernil), rice & beans, a plantain piece (I could have ordered mored), along with lettuce and tomato. The pork actually reminded me of southern pulled pork. It was very moist and tasty. Much different than the Dominican spots that I frequent in Brooklyn. The beans were okay. I loved the lettuce and tomato with the oil and vinegar that they provide in small caps. Overall, not bad. I'll likely come back when I'm in the area. I'll try their chicken the next time as the pork was very heavy (very moist means very fat). The service was good. No ambiance. This is take and go. The clientele wasn't the best during my visit.

Ok so my wife and I were on the hunt for "chicharrón de pollo con hueso" this is essentially Dominican fried chicken with the bone. After calling our go to Dominican places, we were disappointed to find out they only made it boneless, which makes it fried chicken strips, not chicharrón de pollo how it's traditionally made. After a quick Yelp search we called this place and hoorayy! They made it the traditional way!!! We called and placed the order over the phone. The girl who took our order was very friendly. We decided to also try a "monfongo with chicharrón" which is mashed green plantains with fried pork, this was absolutely delicious!!! The portions here were super reasonable and the prices as well. They have excellent lunch specials and carry some traditional Dominican dishes not found everywhere. If you're in the area def give them a try!

Mofongo de cerdo, chicharron de pollo sin hueso, pork chicharron (small). $30 for all, big portions!

Great food, just call ahead of time to place an order. I dont recommend walking in around lunch time as they get packed and it's a fairly slow moving line. Portions a big, tasty food and amazing prices.

Then the host mentioned there was a table, but it was reserved for 6:00 PM. Since we wouldn't be staying that late, we were seated and given menus. Shortly after, when we expected to place our order, the waitress told us we couldn't remain at the table because it was actually reserved for 4:00 PM. She quickly took our menus and suggested we move to the bar. We were a group of four, so this wasn't ideal. We ended up sitting at the bar. During that time, multiple tables for four became available, but no one offered to seat us again. About 20 minutes later, the restaurant was nearly empty, and the table that supposedly had a reservation was never used. We left the restaurant at 5:00pm. The confusing and inconsistent information--from one person saying the next reservation was at 6:00 PM to another rushing us out claiming it was at 4:00 PM--made the experience unnecessarily complicated. It would have been appreciated if the staff had communicated better or offered us a table once more became available. While the situation left us feeling somewhat overlooked, the restaurant itself has potential. With better coordination and customer awareness, this could be a much better experience.

The inside of the restaurant is decently sized, clean, and even has a space where you can host a DJ, which is a nice touch. There was a slight language barrier, but it wasn't a big issue. I waited about 5-10 minutes for my to-go order since the hostess/server was the only one working outside of the kitchen staff. I ordered the MOFONGO MIXTO (Mixed Mofongo), which is crispy green plantains mashed with garlic and olive oil, paired with chicharrón, chicken, or cheese. It was solid--rich, tasty, and especially delicious with the salsa blanco, which was creamy and garlicky. That sauce was a first for me, and I loved it! While I've had mofongo that included rice and beans elsewhere, this version stood on its own nicely. A couple of notes: parking is a bit challenging, and I'd recommend placing your order through an app to help navigate any potential language barriers. Overall, a good experience, and I'd definitely give it another shot!

It is a family run establishment and having just opened, the place is super clean and super modern. There is a good amount of seating, so they can accommodate a large group easily. The chivo guisado was extremely juicy and the meat was so tender - falling off the bone. The pico pollo was great too and very well seasoned. Portions sizes were generous with very reasonable prices too. The staff are very friendly too. It's a nice place to come and enjoy some authentic Dominican food with some bottles of Presidente or cocktails. I recommend giving them a try. You will not be disappointed.

Appetizers, Empanadas, although flavorful, came lukewarm, at best, as if they had been sitting under a warm lamp waiting for their name to be called, instead of cooked to order. The Guacamole, the same. Brownish, as if it sat in the molcajete awaiting the next guest's order. Accompanying Plantain Chips the same. They should be cooked to order and served hot tableside. The Fried Cheese is a good addition. You should not taste stale oil that it was fried in though. The Mofongo (Chicken) was decent, although a tad stiff (it definitely needed the Amarillo sauce.) The fried Chicken Strips again, should've been hot but were lukewarm. The Mofongo's serving amount was smaller than what we're normally used to but it's a dish we could reorder. The Seafood tower lacked flavor and was overcooked. Every piece of Seafood curdled (Shrimp, Lobster Tails). The Crablegs seemed old, as they had black spots on some of the legs. The Tower definitely needed the Sauce, which seemed prebottled and not exclusive. It doesn't take much to make an Housemade Seafood Boil sauce versus just providing an oily pre-bottled one. The Grilled Chicken with Rice and Beans, seems like a safe bet but here are the issues/concerns: 1. The Grilled Chicken flavor was fantastic and the Char was perfect! The Chicken itself was rubbery and congealed, as if it was wet brined too long. Rendered it inedible. The rice was good but the Frijoles severely lacked flavor or a decent amount of beans. Fallen skin from overcooked beans does not count! The Drinks were worrh coming for. The Coquito, Berry Smash and Manhattan were all fuerte (strong) and REALLY good! BE CAREFUL to NOT PARK in the lot adjacent to the right. They do have a dedicated lot on the left, behind the main restaurant and next to their Hookah across the street by the docks.
