Steak & Spaghetti with green sauce, Yummy !!
    Greg D.

Definitely a Roasted Chicken go to Restaurant !! Their Roasted Chicken was super moist & seasoned perfectly with Ken's family secret spice recipe !! Their Green Sauce is on another level definitely one of the best I've ever had ... Also recently had an order of their Jalea and an order of their spaghetti with their Green Sauce another Home Run / super delicious !!! Their sea food in the Jalea was super fresh and their breading / flour was seasoned very well and fried to perfection... topped with that delicious red onion mix with their house vinaigrette was on point !! Loved this dish !! As of last week you can only take out food over here, I hope they open their dining room back up real soon ... The restaurant was very clean, you can actually see over the counter and watch your food being prepared... Their Chefs are very polite & Respectful and handle your food with the upmost respect which I observed with my own two eyes; Yes, I watch everything this is greatly appreciated .... The Counter help, my 1st visit was a very polite & professional young man I believe his name was Kenny answered all my questions had to pause a few times to answer the phones but came right back to me to complete my order; they are pretty fast over here there was at least 7 customers before me & another 5 to 6 waiting to order behind me ... it was lunch time around 12 Noon .. 2nd Visit; thats when I had to try their Jalea and their Green Sauce with Spaghetti !! This time a young lady took my order also very professional & fast ... again my food was delicious and it had to take a 20 minute ride home back to Brooklyn before I ate it ... Definitely recommend this restaurant and I look forward to exploring more items on their menu ... See ya soon !! Greg D & Family

The cooler-has drinks and their sangria.

I ordered $164 worth of food and was happy (they should've thrown in a sangria and a salad though). The jalea was good but next time I would like more of the other seafood & not a huge amount of calamari. It's was cooked good, not rubbery or overcooked. The food is good & esp the green and garlic sauce. The chicken is seasoned good. You def can pop it in an airfryer & be good the next day. I would recommend getting food here. I've had the OG spot on merrick & if you live closer to this location you will be happy. Oh if you have cash you pay a little less-weird but just an fyi, i think cause they pay taxes on CC transactions but...(im going to leave it at that). Anyway enjoy.

Crabtree 's did not disappoint. From the welcoming greeting, by professional restaurant staff, and not bored teenagers, to the impeccable service and food, our experience here was a pure delight. The calamari and ceaser salad appetizers were bursting with flavor and tasted so fresh. I ordered the special, a whole roasted dorado fish. It was divine. My partner had the lobster and shrimp pasta dish and was just as happy. I am a very finicky restaurant diner. I could not recommend this place more. I wish I had taken better pictures to do justice to the food, but it was so delicious looking we just dove right in!

While waiting at the bar for a friend to arrive, I was swarmed by fruit flies, which should have been my first warning sign. The pours at the bar were skimpy, but I tried to shake it off once we got our table. The service there was actually friendly, and our server proudly told us the duck was a top seller, so we ordered it along with a salad and a fish dish. Most of what came out of the kitchen was diner quality at best--nothing special, but not offensive. The duck, however, was a disaster. It tasted old and stale, like it had been sitting in a freezer for months before being rushed through a fryer. The meat was fried to a dry, brittle crisp, and the only flavor came from a cloying sweet duck sauce slapped on top. No richness, no tenderness, no redeeming qualities. We absolutely hated our meal and the entire time we spent there. I can't recommend this place to anyone who actually cares about what they eat.

There is an inviting large bar, an open kitchen, and a large private room in the back. The menu is American classics made with premium ingredients. Although his place is known for their single malt whiskey, craft beer and signature cocktails, only one at our table had a cocktail: EZ Money made with gin, prosecco, lemon, cucumber and St- Germain Elderflower Liqueur. I will look at their wine list next visit. As for the food, the garlic bread and calamari did not disappoint. Our table ordered a variety of dishes. A unique rotisserie chicken salad sandwich, a salmon bowl, and an order of mussels. Each dish was a win. I chose a great mesclun green salad and had to try the double smash burger, a mouth-watering proprietary blend of prime chuck, brisket and short rib which I'd have to talk myself out of not re ordering with my next visit. We were seated right away in a dining room that's separate from the bar, which made for a more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the start. The Portuguese wine was great at just $8 for a generous glass or $25 for a bottle. For apps, we started with the cold lobster cocktail $24 and lamb chops $25, both packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. For our main, we had the steamed lobster $28, which was fresh, tender, and delicious. Everything was done just right, and the prices across the board were very reasonable. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back!

I visited Matteo's on 4/28/26, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience…read more From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but inside there's a full bar and a more formal dining area. My sister and I started with a chicken soup, which was actually really good and one of the highlights of the meal. For our appetizer, we ordered the grilled octopus. It came cut up in an olive oil-style sauce, which is different from how I'm used to having it served. It wasn't a favorite. For the entrée, we ordered a mixed meat platter (steak, pork, chicken, lamb, Portuguese sausage) with mashed potatoes and spinach. The food was very hit or miss. The lamb, chicken, and pork were good, but the steak was tough and chewy. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box, and overall the food lacked seasoning--I had to add salt and pepper just to bring out flavor. My sister did enjoy her Hennessy sidecar. I will say, the bartender was nice, which I appreciated. The biggest issue was cleanliness. The bathroom in the bar area smelled very musty, it had a urinal, toilet and a dead water bug next to the toilet, which was extremely off-putting because it is next to the kitchen. I reported it immediately. The second bathroom in the dining area was cleaner but clearly outdated. Even with an "A" grade posted, that experience raised serious concerns. To make matters worse, on the way home I developed stomach pain, heartburn, and I had an allergic reaction--I had to take both antacids and Benadryl. After that, we ended up throwing the food away--what a complete waste of money. To be honest, nothing was taken off the bill despite reporting the issue. Another thing to note: they charge more if you use a credit card and less if you pay cash, and this was not clearly disclosed or posted anywhere that I could see. Overall, this was not a good experience. Between the lackluster food, cleanliness concerns, how I felt afterward, unexpected charges, and lack of accountability, I will not be returning. No Bueno!

I ordered chicken and waffles from the brunch menu which was supposed to come with chicken breast but the server placed the order from main menu, which instead offered wings. The cook came from the kitchen with a very unfriendly demeanor to let me know that she already dropped the chicken and pretty much implied that I would be getting the wings as she already started cooking them. I informed her I will take the wings. However, I still ended up getting the chicken breast tenders. The server offered to make one of the guests, a custom drink, and it was very heavy with rum and was not mixed well as the drink separated shortly after receiving it. All guests ordered a meal from the brunch menu along with a glass of ginger ale. However, we were charged for the drinks, even though it was supposed to be unlimited with brunch. I did not catch that until I got home and realized the drinks were charged separately. (yes we were within the 90 minute limit.) Additionally, only three out of the four ginger ale's came out. She took so long to bring the last one that the guest just declined it as we were almost finished eating. One of the guests ordered French toast with sausage but received bacon instead she also ordered the macaroni and cheese with bacon at the same time and the server did not bring it out. She had to be reminded and he came out very late. The macaroni and cheese was not good. It had the appearance of being cooked in a rush. There were big pieces of bacon in it versus the typical smaller bits the cheese was very dry One of the guest ordered the snapper, but the server returned a few minutes later to inform us that they are out of snapper. Be aware that gratuity was automatically included for a party of four. That might explain the not so good service as there is no incentive to do better.

The fried catfish was seasoned and fried to crispy perfection. The turkey wings were tender, flavorful, and cooked just right--fall-off-the-bone good. And the yams? Sweet, rich, and perfectly seasoned... honestly hard to stop eating. The macaroni was rich and satisfying, and the potato salad is always a standout for me. For dessert, I had the chocolate cake--and it was exactly how I like it: moist with real, creamy frosting that doesn't miss. The brunch sangria was also a hit.
