I showed an inspo photo and said that if she wasn't comfortable doing them she didn't have to but she said she could. Very disappointing today. I've been several times in the last few months for a basic pedicure. Katie was my pedicurist. She worked too fast and rough. Nail cutting and cleaning was very painful. Rubbing lotion and the hot stone on my legs was also very fast and rough, very painful. She missed some cleaning around nails that is normally done. I hate leaving negative reviews, it makes me feel like a jerk, but after telling my fiancé how bad my experience was, I realized I should leave a review. First off, I only chose to go in, despite seeing how lowly other Yelp reviewers scored it, because it was near Barnes & Noble which was my next stop, so, it was out of convenience. The decor was a little odd -- model ships and airplanes combined with Greek pillars was a little confusing, not to mention snow globes left out from last Christmas -- but the issue was how rude (for no reason) the nail tech was. It was sensible of her to have me sign a COVID waiver and check my temperature, but she didn't speak to me, she spoke AT me. There was only one other customer inside who was getting acrylics done by a gentleman, so I was a little confused why my nail tech was so impatient as I chose a nail polish color... no one else was there (?). As she worked on my nails, she kept sighing and looking away shaking her head (I literally wasn't even saying anything or giving her any reason to act this way... very odd). I always go out of my way to be polite, kind and considerate to nail techs because sometimes I see how many customers can be inconsiderate, so I was confused as to why this particular woman was so grumpy with me. She filed my nails so aggressively they were tattered. (I ended up filing them down myself after I left so they wouldn't snag). While trimming my cuticles she nicked me; I reacted as it hurt yet didn't say anything, she didn't even look up or put anything on the nick. Again, I'm a chill person so I didn't even say anything. These people deserve a 0 star! a negative star!!! The first time I came in was because their $20 french tip MONDAY special. When I went in the ENTIRE staff stepped out for a smoke break. I KID YOU NOT! THE ENTIRE STAFF!!! I thought okay, that's weird so I sat down and waited. After I waited 25 freaking minutes a lady comes in as I was walking out. She said she could get me right now. I said don't bother, Q Nails is more money but at least they'd never leave me sitting here while their staff leave for a smoke. After a couple weeks I thought maybe to try them again. FRENCH TIP $20. thats why! Anyway, I come in and the man told me to sit in the pedicure chair and get a massage. I waited literally 45 minutes. and I actually didn't mind the wait because I can tell they were short staffed. The thing that bothered me was as soon as the lady comes to do my pedicure 2 more couples walk in for pedicures. So the lady who just started my pedicure massaged my feet and legs for LITERALLY 1 FUCKING MINUTE EACH! I waited 45 fucking minutes for her to massage my feet and legs for 1 minute. I get that she doesn't want to keep other people waiting but I took the liberty of giving them a chance. I can paint my own damn toes myself but I pay for pedicures because of the massage. I will never EVER come here again. Their customer service SUCKS ASS! If you want your money worth, go to Q Nails on Grand and Fourth Plain. I keep trying other places and I keep finding myself going back to Q. Some customer advice to you SUPER NAILS, take care of your customers no matter how busy you are. I've been getting my nails done for ten years throughout Portland, Gresham, Clackamas, West Linn, OC, and now Vancouver--and never had such pathetic service and horribly pathetic nails as this place has done. I'm sad I have to give a place of business a bad review. I am doing this for a number of reasons as this was my second time in with a bad business experience here, why did I even try again? I wrote a review on Facebook today while I was in the salon getting my toes done about how I've never heard or been charged a fee for getting shellac removed before so they could put on regular polish. This shellac I had was old from them putting it on a month ago and I had 6 toes left with shellac still on. But they wouldn't remove it without me saying yes to the extra charge amount of $5. I was responded on Facebook from the owner of the company with a "actually the beauty industry standard is this and people usually charge $10-$15. "But thank you for your review" I was there as the lady cleaned my toes and scrubbed my feet and as I tried to respond to the reply saying I've never had a charge and I get shellac all the time I didn't know it was a beauty standard in salons. Their Facebook page had seemed to disappear, I'm at home now trying to find it and it is still gone! They either de activated it or blocked me from seeing them again so I couldn't respond. I decided while I was there to just leave and have the lady not paint my toes and just charge me for cleaning which was $20 so I said okay, go ahead and paint since it's just $10 more now (added in the $5 extra charge for 6 shellac removal of toes). She painted one coat of pink nail paint on each toe and had me leave! I gave her the $30, she slammed $10 back to me on the small counter next to the spa chairs where I sat so overall I was charged only $20. I said thank you. My sweet heart called to talk to the manger and when asked to talk to the manager the person on the phone quickly hung up on him. He called back pretty angry now I mean who likes getting hung up on? When asked for the manager the guy said what is this about? My sweet heart explained his pregnant crying girlfriend and then the guy puts him on hold and comes back and says the manager is not here. It's a shame that this all happened over $5 people and it really could've been resolved just fine. I was willing to pay the $5 fee for 6 toes of your own shellac to be removed but your rudeness, responses, how you have handled this and overall manner is what is making a bad review. I'm being told my sweetheart is coming back today to collect the money I paid. read more

This was the first and last time I go here. The nail tech filed my nails really aggressively, making me jump a couple times. I came in with long (for me) straight nails with rounded sides and she filed them into blunt squares. I asked her to round out the sides, and she misunderstood me and filed them even more square. When she realized what I wanted, she over corrected and tried to make them really round, using the cuticle cutters to cut weird edges on the sides, and by then I barely had any nails left. It takes a long time for my nails to grow, and I'm really annoyed that I went in with nice, long nails and left with stubby, badly shaped nails. The polish job is okay, but could be better. Oh, and when I got home I realized she actually had CUT ME with the side of the emery board- TWICE. Who needs to file that freaking hard?? NEVER AGAIN. read more

The nail technician I had was extremely rude, my nails didn't match. At one point as I was shifting from a pedicure chair to a manicure chair, the male that was working nearly pushed me over to remove a back support pillow that was in the chair I was directed too sit in and gave me rude look before putting it in a chair for a white woman while speaking politely to her. Very disappointed with my nails. Came in on a Monday to get their $20 special they have. The lady asked if I wanted them long or short. I told her I wanted them really short. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture because pictures usually do not do it's justice but each of the nails already look like they are growing out and had them for a few days. You can also see the grinding marks. There is hair in the ring finger. My middle finger is short compared to the rest. The white part is way too long for the clear part on all my nails. These nails look like beginner nails. I'm so disappointed I am crying. They don't do refunds and I don't know if they will be able to fix this mess. Made an appointment for 2 pm and got there on time. The group at 1:30 pm arrived after us. When they started on their pedicures we waited 45 minutes, which is understandable that they could accommodate. We had 5 people in our group and still waited an additional hour due to a few WALK INS getting served before us. When we asked about our services we were told we need to accommodate the other appointments it's Mother's Day. We were also there for Mother's Day and made our appointment and arrived on time. After waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes we only received one half effort rushed pedicure and decided to leave. I just got home from the salon. They have a $20 special for French tips on Mondays. This was my first time in a LONG time getting acrylics that weren't from boxes. Upon entering, I was greeting by a friendly older woman who spoke very good English (in fact, all the people who I heard spoke pretty great English. Never any misunderstandings) and she motioned to her son(?) to do my nails. He seated me immediately at 6:00 and began working. I mentioned that I was there for the Monday French tip special, and he nodded and got to it. This young man was obviously experienced. He worked quickly and seemed to know what he was doing. There were two other women in the salon. One was receiving a manicure and the other was getting a pedicure with the Monday special. The woman with the painted manicure left with GORGEOUS nails from a salon tech I think was named Dianne. The environment is very nice. Smells like incense, and the decorations are cute. The TV is large and not obnoxiously loud or anything like that. The V.I.P. area looked awesome, and I may come back on my 20th birthday. Definitely not an outdated place, this nail salon is super cute. My nail tech was very speedy, and worked pretty methodically. He also gave me free gel, since he said that he wanted to see me again, and not a full year later like last time. Not only did he throw that in as a bonus, but he had positioned the tips pretty high on my nail bed. He wanted to give me the best bang for my buck, and for them to last as long as possible before a fill. I really appreciated that. Leaving, the first older woman who greeted me complimented my ring and was very nice as she motioned for me to check out. The man didn't hassle me for anything, nor did he try to up-sell me. He simply took my card and said, "20 dollars, please sign." Huge relief that I wasn't hassled to buy anything the entire time I was there. Great service.
