Terrible Customer Service and a Horrible Experience This was one of the worst nail salon experiences I have ever had in my entire life. The customer service here is absolutely unacceptable. The person running the place, who claimed to have gone to cosmetology school, refused to fix a broken acrylic nail that another technician had done just a day earlier. Instead of offering a simple fix, he acted pretentious and dismissive. What's worse, they refused to let anyone else fix the broken nail simply because a specific girl did it the day before. They insisted I wait for her specifically, even though they could have had someone else do the repair. When I asked about this, the staff laughed at me in a condescending way, acting like I was stupid, and sarcastically suggested I ask another customer to jump in front of them for a fix. Their attitude was utterly disrespectful and rude. I spent $160 on a manicure, only for the nail to break the very next day. When I returned, they blamed me for the breakage and then told me I had to wait 45 minutes for the same technician to fix it--despite the fact that no one else was willing or able to do acrylics. Their overcharging, lack of professionalism, and dismissive attitude are truly appalling. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is overrated and their customer service is sour, unprofessional, and downright insulting. Save yourself the trouble--go somewhere else where you'll be treated with respect and competence.

Builders Gel nails with autumn changing color polish! LOVE THEM!

I've been to many salons over the years, but stopped searching once I found this hidden gem! Helen once again did an amazing job on the refill of my Builder's Gel nails. I keep them short so I can type and function. So excited over the autumn color changing gel polish I picked! I highly recommend this salon-chill vibe, family owned/operated and just a fantastic group of technicians!

They make appointments that they can't keep. I was on the books for 1 o'clock, and when I showed at 1 o'clock, I was told that my appointment was not showing in their system, so they wanted me to wait for a full hour. Unacceptable! Supposedly the next available person to do a fill was still busy for the next half hour. I have been a loyal customer for a couple years now, but loyalty means nothing to Lux Nails.

I don't recall how I found this salon but I've been to so many and am so glad to have found this place! I have 2 friends that I have going there now, and one lives in deep Portland! I've never had an issue, always do excellent work, and are quick which I can appreciate. I only have a picture of my most current set, but Jason did an amazing job. And honestly, I love the stirrups for the pedicures lol

So happy to get my manicure done here. I'm not usually get manicure, but i had a reason. So i chose Basic with the one, which was as much clear as possible with a slight color. Jenny helped me to select one. I'm so happy with the outcome!

So I don't really want to shame this whole place so I gave it 2 stars. But I decided to take my 8 year old daughter to get her first mani and pedi. I wanted to get a full set of acrylic and a pedi. I think his name was Nolan, he did my pedicure. He was very nice, gentle and professional. He treated me with respect and took his time. The lady that did my daughters mani and pedi was the same. Then it all changed when I got my full set. I think her name was Teresa. She sat at the 2nd table from the front. I showed her a pic of what I wanted and she told me she can do it. This lady was rude, she gave me a ton of attitude, huff and puffed because she said she couldn't understand me and would roll her eyes and shake her head anytime I tried to ask her about my nails. She literally stared at me like I was stupid and come to find out she was the one who didn't know what she was talking about. I asked her if they did the "solar" acrylic or is this just regular acrylic and literally laughed in my face and said she didn't know what I was talking about. So I googled it because I thought maybe I said it wrong. (It had been almost 3 years since I had my nails done.) when I found out it actually was called solar, I looked at her and said "do you guys not do solar nails anymore?" And she said "that's what this is." And looked at me like I was dumb. I tried to explain to her that when I used to get my nails done I had to either ask for it or they offered for an extra charge. She didn't respond or look up, she just shook her head. There website shows that they can do some badass designs but she couldn't even do a marble nail but she said she could. She tried over and over for 20 minutes and after another lady tried and it looked absolutely awful I said just paint it a solid color. I chose that color because I had a wedding to attend and it matched my dress. So instead of just leaving the nail dryer in one spot, where I could just pop my hand out and switch with my other, she kept moving the black light and kept bumping my nails. So as I was putting my nail in she would quickly move it the same time and we would clash and it would touch the fresh painted nail and she literally blamed me for doing it. Everytime I showed her the dent in my nail after it dried, she would say "you did did that," and then would huff and buff(like I was such an inconvenience). After she was finished she literally dropped my hands, jerked her chair back really quick, stood up and said "finished." Like she couldn't wait for me to leave. Then after that she just turned around and started doing something else. It was absolutely awful. I'm not confrontational, and because I'm such a people pleaser I wasn't rude back, I literally smiled the whole time and kept thanking her and telling her they looked great even though I wanted to cry because of how rude she was! I didn't realize how bad my nails looked till I got home. I just didn't understand what all the hostility was about, even my 8 year old noticed how rude she was being to me. I literally dropped 205 dollars on an 8 year old to get a mani and pedi which they give you a "deal" for kids which was 40. They did tell me that getting gel would charge extra and a design which was fine but I guess it's my fault for not asking how much. Because I paid 75 for just my daughter. The girl at the desk said they charged me 15 and 20 extra for getting gel and a design. I don't remember what costed 15 and what costed 20 but being charged 15 or 20 extra for a sticker is wild. But whatever. Plus my pedicure (which was worth it) and then my awful full set of acrylic. So if you minus 75 from 205, mine were 130. Pedicure was on point. But my nails? Nothing like what I wanted and they are uneven. Do not go to Teresa or whoever sits in the second desk. Because of her I will not go back ever and I'm thinking about seriously doing a chargeback on my card if they don't refund me some of my money. I'm going to speak to the manager about the crappy quality and service i received especially droppin that much money. I was excited while we were getting our pedis that I found a good nail salon that I can take me and my daughter to so that we can have little mommy and daughter "dates." But after my pedicure that completely changed when I met the lady that did my set. She was completely unprofessional and poor quality as you can see. So now I'm going to search for another salon...

I had my first one when I was 39 weeks-ginormously-pregnant-which means I couldn't even hardly do anything to prepare for what I thought would be debilitating pain. Well, boy o boy was I surprised. What a positive experience! I assumed that it would be awkward for all parties but it was super cool. Very professional but also laid back and easy to chit chat and make the time go by. It is fast and the pain is not bad (and I am a notorious wuss). Most importantly the results were awesome. I will never go back to my previous hair status knowing what I know now. I have been going here about once a month-ish for over a year. I have had a wax done by everyone. Valerie is my regular but if I am in a pinch for scheduling I go with any of the other gals. I have experienced great results by each. I tell anyone who is interested in this service about this place because I truly think it is the best around. One last thing--the finipil is really great. I always use it and never get the undesired but sometimes common after effects.

Aside from personality, she is very efficient in her abilities and quick. I am in and out in a reasonable time frame, and always leave happy. I highly recommend her services to anyone in the area!

I am used to my appointments being 15-20 minutes long because they pride themselves on quick service. My boyfriend and I share a car and we had to go pick up his kids from school before my appointment and then I told them to just wait in the car because my appointment would only be 15 minutes. Easy peasy. Kids wouldn't get antsy or fight and we'd be home by 4:30 (my appointment was at 4). The morning of my appointment I got a call that my waxer was out for the day so I would be with someone else. Which is totally fine with me! Until it wasn't. I got to my appointment right on time, then was told I had to wait a few minutes. Which is fine because I usually have to wait about 3-5 minutes. 10 minutes goes by and my waxer finally came out to take me to the back. I've never seen her before at this location so I assumed she was newer, but I know they train well so I wasn't worried. Finally she starts my wax and it's all going well and she's chatting with me and making me feel comfortable, she is pulling my skin taught so it doesn't hurt and it's going really well! Then she kept going over the same spot, over and over again. Which I know is because she wanted to get all the hairs out, but I felt it getting later and later and I knew my boyfriend and his kids were waiting in the car and I just knew that they were getting antsy. Anyways, she did a great job, but I checked my phone at the end and it was 4:50!!! 4:50?! 40 minutes to do a Brazilian. I'm fine with having a new person, but I would've love to know she was going to take that long for my appointment! That was ridiculous!! And no one even seemed to apologize about it. When I finally was at checkout, I didn't even want to schedule again because 1. I didn't know if I'd want to come back to this location, even though it's the closest to my house and 2. I was now in a rush because my appointment was 35 minutes over what I thought it would be. We had someplace to be and now we were really late for it. I'm really disappointed in my service this past experience. Warn your customers if it's a newer waxer and if they take longer so they can plan better. You are in customer service after all! I won't be back at this location. Be better Mill Plain EWC.
