This is going to be an odd review because I didn't actually get the usual services from Rene, but it's a very heartfelt review of Rene as a person -- and if I lived closer to her, I'd go in for services in a heartbeat! My husband and I pulled into the drive in front of Peach Willow Spa because we'd been diverted off one freeway and were trying to find another. As I got out of the car so I could navigate while he drove, I got a sudden and severe cramp in one leg. I was stretching and limping and Rene looked out the window, then came out to see how she could help. After a quick diagnosis -- we had been hiking in hot weather -- she asked if I'd like an ice bag. She brought it to me, along with a muscle-relaxant capsule, and told me how to care for the cramp. She also invited us in, but we were in a hurry to get home. When I thanked Rene for her kindness, she said, "This is what I do. I help people." As I said at the top, if I lived in Vancouver instead of Portland, I'd be going in for Rene's services. read more

I have seen Rene for a few services, now... First thing I have to say, is the environment is totally relaxing and comfortable, not to mention absolutely gorgeous. (Seriously, google this place and do the virtual walk through. It's beautiful!). So, the first time I went in for an express facial, which i might add, was the very first facial I had ever gotten, and Rene did an excellent job of informing me of what she was doing, which product she was using, so I was never startled or surprised, and was able to relax and enjoy the process. i walked out feeling so refreshed! my skin was absolutely glowing. Next time, i got an acne mud mask, as recommended by Ms. Rene, since I tend to have some acne prone areas that she wanted to address. I have seen significant improvement in my problem areas, and I attribute that largely to the advice given to me by Rene. Oh! And this lady gives the most AWESOME foot massage, ever! read more

Rene is an extremely sweet woman however; the facial that I received was nothing more than mediocre. I didn't receive my full time, rather she cut it short to allow me to change. I visited Peach Willow several times when nail artist Shelby rented a cute little room from the owner. It was a great space and Shelby was amazing with her pedicures. The best I've ever had! Her spa pedicure left my toes happy, happy, happy!! That is....until.....(queue the Jaws movie theme song).....the owner of Peach Willow barged through Shelby's door like a wildebeest. Not once, not twice but at EVERY pedicure I scheduled. She would open the door, fill the doorway with her presence and loudly strike up random conversation with me or Shelby all while I was TRYING to relax and Shelby was trying to provide me with a spa experience. This owner was brash, loud and just plain rude. It's like she had no manners and had no concept of a client's comfort or needs. She must drive her own clients crazy with her incessant and mindless chatter throughout her services. Thank goodness Shelby finally relocated to a much nicer and more relaxing environment. It's funny...because I was thinking about this low class owner of Peach Willow recently and my suspicions of her low brow personality were eloquently confirmed when I searched for reviews of Peach Willow and I read a cruel and mean spirited blog she posted about Shelby. Was jealous motivating her or was it her own personal deep seeded insecurities? I may never know. Why on earth would anyone want to patron such a horrible establishment? Well....to each her own! I, on the other hand, will gladly spend my hard earned money at Shelby's nail spa. read more

Rene was great with my 14 year old daughter and her friends. I brought them in for their first facials. The facial was just the perfect amount of time for their first one. Rene is the owner of this place and she is a great lady!! I walked in and she immediately welcomed me and gave me a tour of her spa. She is superfriendly and she made me feel comfortable right away. We sat down and she gave me a consultation and explained all the different treatments to me. ( I have never had a facial or anything before!!) I ended up getting a wonderful facial and I am coming back to get my eyebrows waxed and tinted next week. Needless to say I think I might be hooked on spoiling myself to these treatments. My husband grew up in the house Rene has transformed into a wonderful, Asian- feel spa. She even added wall insulation to make it quiet on busy Mill Plain Blvd. He gave me a gift certificate for a delux facial. It made me feel really pampered--a towel wrap to put on, my hair protected with another wrap, gentle music, comfy treatment table, sheets and blankets. Rene did very nice things to my face and neck and shoulders with her potions--then, while the last application did it's work, a heavenly foot massage. Yesssss. I'm thinking I need to return for removal of a few chin hairs (sounded very reasonable to do, cost wise.) Wonder if she includes a foot massage with that? read more

Talk about high brow! (I couldn't help myself). This place is a gem! I can't believe I didn't know it was only a few miles away, conveniently located right on Mill Plain in Vancouver across from the Peace Health hospital. I absolutely love the stylish interior and the complete hospitality we were shown. I was only there for a 20 minute wax but I already know I'll never be tempted by a sketchy nail studio wax and I'll probably be saying goodbye to my pricey Portland facials too - this place has the same superior products and even better customer care without the Pearl District pricing. YAY!! Skincare in my neighborhood that I can trust to treat me well without leaving me broke. And, if I still haven't convinced you to make an appt (SO easy because it's all online btw), my shy 5 year old adored Rene and the whole shop and didn't want to leave.
