I have been seeing Vanessa for laser hair removal for several months now and have gotten several different areas treated. I really do feel the laser hair removal has greatly improved my confidence and I will continue to get other areas done as I can afford them. Often times you can buy a package of treatments for an area and get a deal if you have already been a customer, otherwise there may be a groupon going on to get you going. I have received treatments on my face, underarms, and areolas. She is always so communicative with what she is doing and answers my questions should I have any. I feel like she did a great job of explaining what I should expect and how for me I might need more treatments based on my hormone issues. I stumbled across this place a few months ago and I love it. The staff is so sweet, always going out of their way to fit me in and the spa is is immaculately clean. I was in the market for a new esthetician for brow waxing/tinting and lash tinting. I hadn't had my brows done in several months, because the previous times I'd been butchered. Well, I had a work event and decided to suck it up and I'm SO glad I did. I expressed my concerns to Hilda their esthetician and she was super sweet and patient. The people at Oasis are super fun, friendly and professional. Christy's sense of humor put me at ease in the often awkward experience of bikini laser hair removal. She waited for me even when I was late, and fit me in whenever she could. The cost of this failed treatment was very high, even with the Groupon. Even though I had been told many times that Laser works differently on different hair types-- the probability that I would have to come back after the Groupon sessions (already more than $350) for $150 EACH TIME was not made clear. After all this money and months of appointments later, I still have to shave. I still suffer from ingrown hairs and have to start all over with another service. I did extensive research before choosing Oasis. Perhaps this treatment just isn't for me. I wish I had been shown something in writing first. Do your homework and get it in writing! read more

HORRIBLE, awful place. I don't even know where to begin with this business. I bought a groupon for laser hair removal and needless to say, it didn't work. The laser they used did not even hurt whatsoever which tells me they didn't have it turned up properly to do what it was supposed to do. My mom got laser done on her entire lower half pretty much and according to her it hurts, A LOT. That's when I knew something wasn't right. The lady that was doing my treatments even said during a session, "I'm gonna turn the machine up so I know this is actually going to remove the hair." Uhh, you weren't doing that before?! The only saving grace for this place is that they got a new owner in the middle of my treatments. Hopefully she turned this place around for the better because I have heard nothing but awful stories about Oasis. read more

I moved 45 mins south of Vancouver and so I decided to try a new waxing lady locally and am convinced now that it is worth the drive to come up to Vancouver to have my waxing done by her. Like the previous review I can't say anything bad about the people who work there. They were never anything but friendly and nice. However after 7 "laser" sessions I have experienced very little reduction of hair. The prices I was paying after the groupon finished was more expensive than the place I am going to now, which uses a real laser (alexandrite). Don't make the same mistake I did and rely on an IPL type "laser" system to do the job if you want real reduction/removal. I would suggest educating yourself about the type of lasers out there and what they are capable of. read more

I purchased the groupon for laser hair removal at oasis. I must say I thought that the "painless" hair removal was not completely painless, but it was tolerable, and worth it. The problem relies however in the customer service and odd affect of the people that work at this location. The owner, and laser lady Lynne is very odd, and almost creates an awkward situation with customers. While I was waiting for my appointment she sent someone away who thought they had an appointment and didn't even make a new appt for her. Without the groupon this place would be a joke. I originally came to this spa for laser hair removal and absolutely loved the people and the environment. Christy did an outstanding job with my laser hair removal. I work as a nurse practitioner and am very picky about having any procedure done, but she was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I felt very comfortable and had great results. Visited this place 6 times because of a Groupon special. The gist of this review is that the laser hair removal didn't work at all. I was terribly disappointed and have just as much hair in my upper lip as when I started. I made mention of it with two visited left and the technician mentioned "turning up the intensity" but with two visits left it wasn't enough to remove the hair. From my understanding, Oasis Day Spa went under new management over the past year. Therefore, I cannot relate to the reviewers who encountered a horrible experience. I'm writing this review in regards to Mindy's services. I've been seeing Mindy for years- way before she came to Oasis Day Spa for waxing, micros, and facials. Mindy is GREAT at what she does! She's ALWAYS very caring and considerate! For instance, even though I've been waxing for years, my skin is still very sensitive to waxing. She has tried using different methods to try to calm my skin by changing and incorporating new products. And, finally a method of applying baby powder after waxing works! YAY! Mindy really takes her time to get the job done RIGHT and always seems to be open to new ideas to make my experience a pleasant one! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mindy!!!! read more

I am a regular and very long time client of Mindy's. She recently moved to a new location, from this spa. I knew of the move, yet the spa tried to keep my appointment by saying Mindy was still working there, then bait n switch me by having another person do my waxing. I don't like dishonesty and will not be returning for any reason. I personally didn't enjoy going to this location, but Mindy is the best so I follow her. I was just in the spa a few days ago for a continuation of my groupon laser hair removal treatment. Apparently the owner has changed, and evasively and rudely let me know that she would be unable to complete my treatments that were agreed upon with the last owner. She claimed she could not find anything in my chart about continuing treatments, although I saw it recorded at my last appointment. When I asked how they expect to keep customers if they deny treatments agreed upon just because they bought the business, she kept telling me she was the new owner and these were her rules. It was very unsettling, definately did not make me feel like I was worth their time. The way the owner interacted was she wrote on a piece of paper to her assistant what to tell me...this was while I stood there watching her. Then she left and the assistant started telling me "sorry" in a very non-appologetic manner. All in all, I was disgusted with the customer service. I am going to have to find a spa that values returning business. Apparently, at least to the new owner, it's all about making a buck. read more

I've been going to Oasis Day Spa for about a year now to get my eye brows waxed. Many nail salons that wax eye brows have wax that I'm allergic to. Oasis Day Spa's wax is gentle on my skin, and I don't react as severely as I do other places. However, I always feel a little uncomfortable when I'm at Oasis Day Spa. A lot of the girls are kind of snooty and the gal who waxes my hair really doesn't seem interested in what she's doing. read more

I cannot stress enough that everyone's body is different and you really can't blame anyone for the results unless they have no idea what they are doing! Christy knows what to provide her clients. The Oasis is now the wellness center. I Just had a treatment that gave me a burn. I let them know, but they didn't have anybody their to help me. They just told me to go home. I bought the Living Social deal for 6 hair removal sessions(Brazilian) and only received 5 because I was jipped of the last treatment. The owner said I had missed an appointment 3 weeks after my 5th treatment(appointments are supposed to be 6 weeks out) and I have no recollection of this appointment or why it was made(Neither did the owner). I canceled my 6th appointment via email due to my son getting really sick that morning and asked for someone to call me to reschedule. When I got a call back, the lady let me know I'd need to pay $175 in order to get my 6th treatment done. Why they would not make an exception for a mom with a sick child is beyond me. The owner thought offering me a discount of $175 instead of $275 for my 6th appointment was a fair offer. In addition to that, I have just as much hair as I started with but it is a LITTLE more fine. Before buying the Living Social I called to ask about the laser machine and the owner told me it was brand new and the best one out there. My sister also bought the same deal and she has had even worse results than me. Between equipment that doesn't work and the lack of building a relationship with their clients, I could never recommend this place. Waste of time & money! read more
