Constantly checking she doesn't burn or cut you and that you are comfortable. She's very seasoned and knows what she's talking about. I get the feeling she's been doing nails for atleast 10 years. She knows all styles and designs and is so friendly. She also loves a challenge I noticed. She asked me what I wanted rather than telling me what she thought looked best. And I really appreciated that. I came in wanting a glossy candy apple red stiletto shape with a cheetah accent nail and she did exactly what I wanted and more. Her staff is friendly. The place is small but pretty. Extremely clean. I noticed they all constantly washed their hands AND sanitized in between everything they did. Which I thought was nice, because cross contamination happens more at salons than you might actually know about. For a full set with design and gel top, it came to $63. (Not including tip) I want to say this also included a nail file and buffer. State of Washington requires you must bring your own or you will be charged for a new one. Only I can't remember if I was charged or not... anyways. Will be back in 2 weeks for a pedicure now that I've seen the place and experienced it first hand. Thanks so much Julie! read more

I've been coming here for years and honestly since Tiffany left it's been a struggle to find a great nail person. The last couple visits had been great, I needed a fill and dropped in. This looks terrible I got cut twice all of the nails are bumpy and look terrible. It's so sad. I think this is the last time I'll ever be in. We weren't offered any drinks when we sat down when the other people next to us were offered so I did have to ask. My time here has come to an end. $95 + $2 card fee ?? Yuck. I got dip on my nails and had them take off my gel pedicure and do a regular pedicure with only clear polish. Not only that, the way they went about getting the payment from me was WEIRD AF!!!!! I took out 5 20 bills to pay. The lady said "oh you can pay with card and tip with this." So needless to say I didn't get change for my 20s and tipped 20. Which is fine but that should've been my choice ???? LMFAOOOO I'll never come back to this spot. Ever. read more

This was my first time getting my nails done again since I got married last July. Lol. I chose to do a manicure with bright pink shellac. The nail tech who did my nails was nice but quiet. I asked for a square shaped with a little rounded on the edges and told her I wanted the length to be short and same length all around. I loved the color but the length of my nails were not even. The thumb nail on my left hand was longer than the other nails, and the middle finger and pinky on my right hand were longer than the rest of the nails too... The salon was nice and bright. EDIT: I originally went to this salon for an event Yelp put on to gain traction and better reviews. During that event, everyone was extremely welcoming and did their absolute best job. I specifically loved Trish's work and wanted to make another appointment with her, but unfortunately Trish let me know she no longer works here, but instead works in Portland. I didn't want to make the commute to Portland, as Julie's Nail Salon is very close to my house, so I decided to give another artist a shot. I came back today for my wife and I's wedding anniversary. Our pedicure experience was very nice, but the problem was with my fill. I was not asked what shape I wanted, although every salon I have been to in the past has asked me if I wanted to change shapes regardless if it's a full set i'm getting, or just a fill. I had to let the nail artist doing my fill know that I wanted them a specific shape and she re-filed them for me while seeming irritated that I asked her to. Unfortunately, a few of my nails ended up slanted (as pictured) and I didn't notice until I got home. I was also told I had to either have my own or buy a nail file and buffer from them if I wanted her to file and buff my nails, because they don't provide that for free. I have never been to a salon where you had to bring your own file/buffer or buy one to have it included in your service. As I went to pay, the woman at the counter said she prefers Zelle. So I zelled her the total amount that I owed. As I showed her that it sent, she said, "You didn't include the tip. Do you have cash? Or you can zelle me again for the tip". Huh???? I felt that was extremely unprofessional. I have never been blatantly asked for a tip like that. I have worked in the service industry as well, and I wouldn't dare to ask a client for a tip. As my wife and I weren't completely satisfied with our services, and felt taken aback by the way we were asked for a tip, we ended up only handing her a few dollars. She counted the money and looked back up at me as if I should give her more. Never again will I be going to this salon. After moving here from out of state only a few months ago and coming here for the first time, I truly thought I found an amazing new salon. Unfortunately, after my second experience today at this salon, I will absolutely be looking for someone else to do my nails next time. The overall vibe was very rude and disrespectful. read more

I used to be a semi-regular here. However, the last 2 times, I have made appointments for a pedicure, both times I arrived, every chair was taken, they took walk-ins first instead of those with appointments. On Memorial weekend I made an appointment and had to 40 minutes until they were done with walking first. Today, I made an appointment and when I arrived, again every chair was full. I was asked to come back in 10 minutes. I returned in 15. Nothing had changed, none of the customers looked even remotely close to being done. I was to to "wait" again. I said "No". My appointment was over 15 minutes ago. I cannot wait any longer. After I left, they called and told me to come back, they were going to have an open chair. I declined. I am considerate of their time by making an appointed. They are not considerate of mine. Twice now, I have made appointments and then had to wait for service, because they took walking first. I am beyond frustrated. Why ask for an appointment if they will not hold to it? They may be busy, but when you herd people through as they do, your business means nothing to them. They have now lost my business. I will not return. I want a place where they will take their time and provide a great service. read more

I used to go here all the time but they definitely have changed, very rude , didn't give me the proper set of nails I wanted and still charged me more. I also gotten pedicure done and I asked for gel white nail polish not the regular nail polish and yet they didn't give me gel and still charged me for gel and it wasn't even done part of that nail polish was sticking to my actual skin as if I was doing it myself blindfolded , one of my friends is an experienced aesthetician and when I showed and told her what happened we tried to call and be nice but they kept interrupting being rude and short when we even get to say what we were calling for! Hannah gave me a really great mani/pedi! However, she wanted me to Zelle instead of paying with my card($2 up charge when you pay with card), then they also charge you $1 if you don't have a nail file and other things they simply have to throw away during a nail service. Lastly, they pressure you to tip, I'm not cheap but if I'm pressured to tip I'm not going to. The entire ending of my experience gave me a bad vibe. Not somewhere I'd want to go again. read more

Went in with my friend to get acrylics, they got us in within 10 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. Mimi started my nails then Julie stepped in to paint/design but Julie noticed that Mimi had done my nails completely incorrect. Julie, the owner, took it upon herself to redo my acrylic and make my nails look perfect. She was very assuring and she made it known that she wanted to make it up to me. Because of this event though, we were in the salon for a total of 2 & 1/2 hours, way longer than it should take for 2 sets. Terrible first experience... And my last one. I asked for a simple brow wax and explained what I wanted. I even showed her the shape. I did not want them thin. She said she understood. I really wanted to like this place-- the interior is beautiful but this is honestly the worst dip I've ever received. I picked a peach color, wanted something a bit natural. The technician advised me it would be a bit translucent versus opaque but it turned out completely see through-- instead of starting over they pulled out another translucent color with a rose hue to try to salvage it. The shaping was sub par, I asked for rounded square and almost all my nails are a different shape. Today the color is almost oxidizing with patches inside. The straw that broke the camels back for me was at the end of the dip manicure I asked the technician if she could clean underneath my nails as they had some dirt and debris -- she told me it would be better if I could just go to the sink and use one of their brushes to do it myself. It was clear that she was double booked and diverted me to finish my Own manicure because she had another client to tend to-- I felt really dismissed. Really put a bad taste in my mouth. So I had been to this nail salon 2 times first time my nail tech did a really poor quality job. I had to come back 2 days later and have the owner Julie fix 8 out of 10 of my nails, she did fix them for free (which they should) and I tipped. I had to go back a 3rd time when 2 days later her "fix" started to peel off the top coat of the shellac. I had also got my friend a "dip" manicure which was done very poorly. We came in to show our issues and we were offered 10% off our next procedure that was not good enough. We went back to our staple nail place and they did it right for cheaper then what we paid at Julie's. We spent $100 the first time plus bought gift certificates when we tried to inform the owner she didn't seem receptive to the issues. read more
