My cousin brought me here, first time dining here and everything came out fresh hot and delicious! Ulbarto and I'm sure I'm chopping his name up, apologies but and one other server served us and they were super nice, quick and attentive. We ordered guacamole and chips. The salsa was the best I've ever had. I love the lemony flavor it had, I poured it over everything! Shredded beef taco and taquito. Crunchy, hot and delicious. The red rice, my GAWD! So good! Super salad which was fantastic. Grilled hot juicy chicken, hard boiled egg, tomato's, celery sticks and avocado slices. Amazing, filling, delicious salad. I'd order this again and again! I've been here many times but it's been awhile so I decided to have lunch here. There was nobody inside just my husband and I, nobody to greet us at the front. Ghost town. There was a man that worked there eating in the back part that had to tell someone there's customers. We finally got seated and our waitress brought out somewhat old chips. The salsa was good. I ordered the 3 taco combo. 2 ground beef and one chicken. The rice and beans were good and the tacos were O.K. The ground beef had like potatoes or something in it , it just didn't have a lot of flavor. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I wanted to wash my hands and then use the restroom but the bathroom was so GROSS. The was poop all over the seat and around it. Everywhere. We love this Super Mex in Lakewood. All of the food is just great. It is traditional Mexican food and we have been several times. This time we got it to go. It was so easy to heat up and it all was perfect. The place is really cute on the outside and pretty inside. It always clean. Parking is ever so easy and free. The prices are quite fair for all the food you get. They serve good size portions. We had enough food for 2 days, just by adding some more beans. We have never had a wait time, but I suggest a reservation for the weekends. The location is very nice and there is a lot to do around there. We are always there at least a day. The service is perfect. They get to you right away for a drink order, they have a full bar and then help with the menu which is extensive. We love all their combination plates and their nachos are wonderful. Have the best time. read more

I have been a loyal customer of this location for more than 20 years, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I placed an order totaling nearly $70, but when I got home, I realized I had been given someone else's order. I had to drive back to the restaurant, where I waited for my order to be remade because my original order had already been given to another customer. This meant spending additional time and gas to correct a mistake that was not mine. After receiving my correct order, I politely asked if there was anything they could do for the inconvenience. I wasn't expecting anything significant--just a sincere apology or perhaps a small gesture of goodwill. Unfortunately, I received neither. We asked to speak with the manager, and the employee identified herself as the manager. She said her name was Claudia, although I'm not completely certain. This occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. today. I understand that mistakes happen, especially in a busy restaurant. However, what disappointed me most was the lack of empathy and customer service. After supporting this location for over two decades, I expected a genuine apology and an effort to acknowledge the inconvenience. I bought 3 wet bean and cheese burritos and two enchiladas to go. The burritos were barely warm and the sauce on top barely covered the burritos. The burritos were more tortilla than beans and cheese. I've been there many times and the food was barely edible. Oh and they only gave me 5 chips when asked they said I could pay for more. I ordered a combo plate with three soft tacos, but my rice and beans were missing. I also got an à la carte soft carnitas taco, which typically comes with guacamole, but this time it was served with just a small dot of avocado and six pieces of diced tomato (see photo) and no salsa nor were given as before. I contacted the manager, Tessa, who was courteous and offered options to remedy the situation. So I have been to this location a handful of times over the years. I grew up going to the one on Atlantic in Long Beach. Came to a dinner last night with my daughter and was pleasantly impressed. The restaurant was clean and very busy. We walked in and was greeted by staff immediately with a great smile. Our waitress was absolutely awesome she was running her section amazing. She had six tables and a birthday party of like twelve or thirteen people and didn't miss a thing. As busy as she was she somehow was able to make me fill like we were her only table. As always the food was great otherwise I probably wouldn't have been there. Got the #23 shredded beef taco a cheese enchilada and a chile Riano beans and rice for under $25 let's go. We decided to share a asada nacho that was amazing. They serve them with beans jalapeño cheese pico and guacamole with sour cream.They give the option of adding meat which who wouldn't the chicken is a $3 upgrade the asada a $5 just do it you will enjoy. read more

The layout could be best described as "cantina within a restaurant", as the bar is situated in the center of the restaurant. There's nothing special about the food, it's your typical Mexican fare--minus the real authentic stuff. They don't have lengua or cabeza tacos, and the flour tortilla was quite plain. The horchata tasted diluted and lacked the richness of this traditional beverage. The fried tortilla and salsa was nice, but the salsa was also quite mundane. It could be a nice place for a after-work social--the place accommodates a large group easily. If food is not your focus, this restaurant certainly provides a good setting. read more

He wanted a wet cheese and bean burrito and the server told him no that can't be ordered wet. Even though he's ordered that same dish several times at other super mex locations. The server was rude and annoyed with us and finally said fine we can make it wet but it's a $4 up charge and we said that's fine even though he's never been given that charge at other locations. We had a group of eight come here after a group event and we were seated pretty quickly on a Saturday night even though they were very busy. As busy as it was, it was not super loud and we could all hear each other talking just fine. I don't go to a lot of new Mexican restaurants but this is the first place I have been where instead of individual tortilla chips they have whole tortillas that are like six inches across which you have to break up. It made quite a mess especially with a lot of people at the table. I really liked the salsa and I didn't notice any heat after the first few scoops but after about five chips the heat crept up. I wasn't super hungry so I just opted for the cheese quesadilla with carne asada. It had a good amount of meat inside and it was so filling I only ate three of the four pieces. It came with sour cream and pico de gallo which was good and came with generous serving sizes. Some of the other menu selections on my side of the table were the chimichangas, steak fajatias, and a super mex burrito which was enormous. I'm done with this place the food has gone down hill and the music they play has the same beat over and over and over and over again it's so loud it feels like your at a club for lunch with most people being over 50. I placed the order for four burritos on Saturday.When my order arrived through Uber eats There was no cheese on the top of the two burritos. CHEESE AND SAUCE MAKES THE RITO??when I went to cut open the burrito there was beans, rice and chicken. The food was very bland and very dry. All burritos were bland and dry. I usually order from Supermex on Cherry Avenue but decided to try this location since it's closer to my home. Sometimes it's best to stick with your main restaurant.
