Anyone who buys fresh produce knows that sometimes a papaya, jicama, or other fruit can look perfect on the outside but end up going bad on the inside--that's just nature. What sets this place apart is how they handle it. If you bring it to their attention, they'll happily replace it at no extra cost. The same goes for their farm-fresh eggs. They genuinely care about their customers and stand behind their products. Their eggs are local, high quality, and incredibly reasonably priced for what you're getting. The produce is always fresh, and their customer service is exceptional. They once gave us a rue plant that wasn't looking its best, and today it's absolutely thriving. Another thing we love is their beautiful sunflower bouquets. They're only $5 a bunch, which is already a great deal. Even better, if you stop by near closing and the sunflowers are fully opened and at the end of their display life, they'll often give them away for free rather than let them go to waste. It's clear that this is a family business that values quality, fairness, and their community. We keep coming back because we know we'll always be treated honestly and with kindness. They also carry artisan bread, fresh produce, and organic milk, so somehow I walked in for meat and left feeling like a pioneer woman lol. The space itself feels warm, welcoming, and very Ventura in the best way. Clean, rustic, community-oriented... the kind of place where you can tell the regulars genuinely love coming in. It has that old-school neighborhood butcher shop energy but without feeling intimidating or pretentious. Alec was so knowledgeable about all the offerings and was so accommodating to all of our requests for the different samples. He had great suggestions for pairings and we ended up buying the perfect combo of oil and balsamic. I loved the way we got to try to the oils with the tiny spoons. I definitely think having a bread to sample for the oils would be awesome! The shop was in the cutest part of town. We are so excited to tell our friends and come back.

They have a number of different size bottles to choose from, including travel sized. There are not a lot of vendors, and they change from time to time, but since I mainly buy fruits and vegetables there are always vendors that sell those and I always find what I need and more. The tamales stand is one of my favorites. Their tamales are a bit bigger in size and has plenty of filling, it is delicious! But at $5 a tamale it is pretty pricey so I only get it when I'm craving it.
