For a family-run business, their prices on quotes are extremely fair…read more David and Edward met with me and went through various solutions of my pool problem. My pool was built in the '80s and was not up to code, it split around the perimeter halfway down the water level and I lost over 10,000 gallons of water. It used to be a 22,000 gallon pool and by talking with David and Edward, we agreed on a better repair solution, also to half the amount of water that we would need after it was finished. At this time of year in Arizona, the temperatures exceed 100° f. Their crew was friendly and respectful of property, they had to work in this horrible heat, but they had no complaints. The crew even stayed past their normal finish time so that they wouldn't have to come in the next day and disrupt me and my dogs. Throughout the entire process, Andrew kept me up to date and gave me a few more ideas on pool design. This family-run business also collaborates with other companies to ensure the process is done correctly and up to code. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the end result, now bear in mind this was a pool repair company and a pool design company, they could have finished the entire pool, but I already had a different company on standby and they completely understood. There was no pressure to finish the entire pool with their company, which to me means that they are a very honest family-run business. I would highly recommend this family business for your pool needs.

We hired Innovative for a significant landscape and pool renovation project and, unfortunately, our…read moreexperience fell well short of expectations. The project ultimately ran approximately 1 1/2 years beyond the original anticipated timeline. Throughout the process, we dealt with multiple project managers, inconsistent communication, and numerous instances where completed work had to be redone. This included portions of the tile/travertine work in both our courtyard and backyard. Many of the pieces are still cracked and chipped. We also experienced significant issues with the landscaping. Many of the plants died within the first six months, irrigation/waterlines had to be corrected, and we found ourselves making many of the plant selections rather than receiving the level of design guidance we expected. Permitting was another area that required considerable follow-up on our part, including gas permits that were never properly completed. Unfortunately, some of the issues went beyond delays and inconvenience. On August 15, 2025, drainage and grading problems resulted in flooding that caused more than $12,000 in damage. We ultimately filed a complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, and drainage/piping corrections were completed in November 2025. The only way to get them to repair the issues that they refused to correct and said was not part of their scope of work, even though they fully demolished and rebuilt the entire front and back landscape, was by filing a complaint with the ROC and having a demand letter sent to them. With that being said I highly recommend that you check their current standing with the Maricopa County ROC as they have one of their licenses revoked. We also experienced issues with the pool, including a significant chip in the pebble tec that required the pool to be drained and repaired, followed by the cost and inconvenience of filling it again within the first year.l, which we had to pay out of pocket for refilling of water and chemicals. There were certainly aspects of the finished project that we liked, which makes the overall experience especially disappointing. With a project of this size and expense, we expected stronger project management, communication, quality control, and follow-through. Even after the construction issues were addressed, we continued to experience difficulty with follow-through. At the time of this review, Innovative is approximately four months delinquent on a written payment agreement related to our project. I recognize that large construction and landscape projects can encounter unexpected challenges. However, the combination of the extended timeline, repeated rework, permitting and drainage issues, property damage, and ongoing follow-through concerns made this a very difficult experience for our family.

Within a month of owning the home a pool leak was discovered coming from the pool light, and skimmer throat seal. I contacted Sonoran Water Custom Pools and Spa and was told because I am a new owner that the warranty is not transferrable. I thought to myself okay that's weird that they don't stand behind their service. So I went ahead and spent over $1000 to drain the pool and fix the leaks. Additionally it was recommended that I fix the foundation bellow my pool pump because the pump was placed over unstable ground. Now 5 months later another water leak is discovered. This time the tile is found to be cracked leading to the pool steps. Why is the pool that is newly resurfaced already having cracks in the tile and pebble tec? Both my leak detection professional and pool maintenance person were surprised that this is happening so soon after the pool was resurfaced. The only logical answer as to why is that the pool company didn't fix all the problems under and around the pool before it was resurfaced. I have reached out the Sonoran about these problems and haven't received a call back. If they are a reputable pool company they should care about the quality of their work and stand behind their services. I am afraid what other leaks and cracks this pool will have in the future because in less than 6 months I have had 3 sources of leaks. I do not recommend anyone uses this company until they start taking responsability for the services they provide.

The round spa is built next to the pool and would have been lovely except only half of the outside of the spa was tiled. Unfortunately the tiled side was the side facing the house behind us and the solid cement side was facing the house. It looked really ugly. When I asked the owner why he made that choice he said to save money. Of course, why did he choose to tile the side facing AWAY from the house? Initially I thought that wasn't too smart but then I realized maybe it was very smart because of course we had to pay them to tile the ugly cement side facing the house. Of course he didn't communicate any of this to us. 2. The steps into the pool and spa are very narrow and steep. I'm only in my 60s but it's already very difficult for me to get in and out of the spa and pool. At some point I am going to have to drain the pool and redo the steps. Will be very expensive. The owner is super nice though.

Permits were finalized at the end of February, and construction began during the first week of March. At the beginning of the project, communication was excellent. The design team kept us informed of progress, timelines, and any challenges that arose. Unfortunately, as we approached the expected completion date, communication steadily declined. It eventually reached the point where we had to repeatedly email or call to receive status updates. Not to mention we have a jacuzzi spa getting installed & the dealer keeps calling asking when do we expect to coordinate delivery. Unfortunately we are two months behind the expected completion so at this point we have no clue. Because we have security cameras on our property, we were able to observe the work as it progressed. During the project, I frequently noticed trash left behind by contractors, including energy drink cans, water bottles, and food wrappers. In one instance, I observed a worker throw a can into our fire pit before covering it with gravel and lava rock. This level of carelessness was disappointing and unprofessional. It also became apparent that Hotshot relies heavily on subcontractors. During the installation of the sprinkler water line, the team was also supposed to account for a future extension for our misting system. Unfortunately, the water supply line for the misting system was never run, causing delays and additional work later. Additionally, the light for the misting fan was not connected. When we brought this to their attention, we discovered there had been no plan to connect it to the designated power switch unless we specifically requested it. It is now the later part of June 2026 and the project has still not concluded, with no update or communication in the last two weeks. Overall, the project felt disorganized. There rarely appeared to be a project manager onsite coordinating work or ensuring subcontractors understood the next steps. This lack of oversight resulted in missed details, delays, and unnecessary frustration. What makes this experience particularly surprising is Hotshot Hardscaping's nearly perfect 5-star rating. Based on our experience, either the level of professionalism and project management has declined significantly, or the reviews do not accurately reflect the customer experience. Either way, our experience was the complete opposite of what we expected based on the company's reputation. The contrast is so significant that it's difficult to believe we worked with the same company described in many of the reviews. While the project is slowly moving forward, the lack of communication, poor job-site cleanliness, missed installation details, and apparent lack of project oversight made the experience far more stressful than it should have been. I hope the company takes these concerns seriously and improves its communication, supervision, and quality control processes for future customers.

Steve is noncommunicative, at best. He initially quoted us a monthly pool service rate for weekly…read moreservice. However, he increased our rate twice within the first three years of service without notice to us, or an explanation of why the monthly rate had increased. His website makes you think he runs a substantial operation, but his business is only a mom and pop shop consisting only of Steve and his wife (and sometimes a pool cleaner employee). He subcontracts out his pool remodel business, as he did with us, and some other services he claims to do. His website says he does tile cleaning to remove calcium stain buildup, but we've asked him on two occasions to clean our tile. He just says he can't do it, and leaves it up to us to clean as best we can (we are seniors in our 70's). In addition to this, last month he charged us $150 to clean our pool filter. He has never charged us for cleaning our pool filter before. It turns out in the four years we've used Steve, he has never cleaned our pool filter once until last month. What kind of pool service is this? Finally, Steve appears to have a problem retaining a pool cleaner employee. For almost two years, Steve and his wife cleaned our pool weekly themselves after their pool cleaner quit. Last November or December 2023 Steve was able to hire another employee to clean pools, but the employee did not show up the last week of December 2023. When we called about this, we were told he gave his employee off the week of Christmas 2023. This year, his employee did not show up this past week (November 2024). When we called about this, he now says he "gives" the employee off the week of Thanksgiving, the week of Christmas, and the day after New Years Day. We don't have a problem with Steve "giving" his employee time off, at times of his choosing, but he still charges us for the times his employee is off. So, in essence, Steve is trying to get his clients to pay for his generosity to his employee even though we give a generous Christmas bonus every year to whoever has been servicing our pool (including Steve and his wife when they serviced our pool). Due to the above issues, we have now dismissed Adobe Pools and Spa as our pool cleaning service. My advice to anyone considering hiring Adobe Pools and Spas, is to first get your agreement with Steve in writing, including monthly fees, what "services" are included, specific day(s) his employee is going to be "off", and how those days will be made up if you are charged for them.

The owner came out for the estimate and answered all questions. Once I said yes to the estimate, we agreed on a start date. The crew finished in the estimated time. A few points: -Deck looks great. They applied their surface material in a flagstone style. Very happy with the color palette and how slip resistant the surface is. Is it as cool as our original authentic Keystone Kool Deck coating? No. But it is cooler than other surfaces I've encountered in the valley. -We have a pool net with hooks that fasten into metal eyelets drilled into our pool deck surface. The crew was able to preserve the eyelets so we can continue using our safety net, no problem. -The owner told us that we'd see a white powder appear soon after installation, that it was part of the curing process and would eventually wash away. I was slightly alarmed to see the once pristine finish spotted with the powder, but he was right. A few months later, and the powder spots are nearly all gone. -Cash or check only. The owner was punctual & professional. His workers were nice however, we never knew when they were going to show up, how long they'd be gone for lunch or what time they left. I asked them to tell us since we had 2 dogs locked in the house while they were working. The finished product looked pretty good, from what I could see, since it was too cold to get in the pool. I didn't like it at the separation between the pool & the in-ground spa. The owner sent them out, weeks later, to fix the area. By the end of the swim season I started seeing some hairline cracks, etc. I called the owner again but, he had just lost a loved one. So, I gave him several months before asking him to send them back out. They did eventually come out & fixed the areas. Once swimming season started again I started seeing all kinds of hair line cracks, a rather large crack by the steps & some sort of gouge right by the top step. Again, ""adequate"" seems to be the new norm.
