Permits were finalized at the end of February, and construction began during the first week of March. At the beginning of the project, communication was excellent. The design team kept us informed of progress, timelines, and any challenges that arose. Unfortunately, as we approached the expected completion date, communication steadily declined. It eventually reached the point where we had to repeatedly email or call to receive status updates. Not to mention we have a jacuzzi spa getting installed & the dealer keeps calling asking when do we expect to coordinate delivery. Unfortunately we are two months behind the expected completion so at this point we have no clue. Because we have security cameras on our property, we were able to observe the work as it progressed. During the project, I frequently noticed trash left behind by contractors, including energy drink cans, water bottles, and food wrappers. In one instance, I observed a worker throw a can into our fire pit before covering it with gravel and lava rock. This level of carelessness was disappointing and unprofessional. It also became apparent that Hotshot relies heavily on subcontractors. During the installation of the sprinkler water line, the team was also supposed to account for a future extension for our misting system. Unfortunately, the water supply line for the misting system was never run, causing delays and additional work later. Additionally, the light for the misting fan was not connected. When we brought this to their attention, we discovered there had been no plan to connect it to the designated power switch unless we specifically requested it. It is now the later part of June 2026 and the project has still not concluded, with no update or communication in the last two weeks. Overall, the project felt disorganized. There rarely appeared to be a project manager onsite coordinating work or ensuring subcontractors understood the next steps. This lack of oversight resulted in missed details, delays, and unnecessary frustration. What makes this experience particularly surprising is Hotshot Hardscaping's nearly perfect 5-star rating. Based on our experience, either the level of professionalism and project management has declined significantly, or the reviews do not accurately reflect the customer experience. Either way, our experience was the complete opposite of what we expected based on the company's reputation. The contrast is so significant that it's difficult to believe we worked with the same company described in many of the reviews. While the project is slowly moving forward, the lack of communication, poor job-site cleanliness, missed installation details, and apparent lack of project oversight made the experience far more stressful than it should have been. I hope the company takes these concerns seriously and improves its communication, supervision, and quality control processes for future customers.

Within a month of owning the home a pool leak was discovered coming from the pool light, and skimmer throat seal. I contacted Sonoran Water Custom Pools and Spa and was told because I am a new owner that the warranty is not transferrable. I thought to myself okay that's weird that they don't stand behind their service. So I went ahead and spent over $1000 to drain the pool and fix the leaks. Additionally it was recommended that I fix the foundation bellow my pool pump because the pump was placed over unstable ground. Now 5 months later another water leak is discovered. This time the tile is found to be cracked leading to the pool steps. Why is the pool that is newly resurfaced already having cracks in the tile and pebble tec? Both my leak detection professional and pool maintenance person were surprised that this is happening so soon after the pool was resurfaced. The only logical answer as to why is that the pool company didn't fix all the problems under and around the pool before it was resurfaced. I have reached out the Sonoran about these problems and haven't received a call back. If they are a reputable pool company they should care about the quality of their work and stand behind their services. I am afraid what other leaks and cracks this pool will have in the future because in less than 6 months I have had 3 sources of leaks. I do not recommend anyone uses this company until they start taking responsability for the services they provide.

The owner came out for the estimate and answered all questions. Once I said yes to the estimate, we agreed on a start date. The crew finished in the estimated time. A few points: -Deck looks great. They applied their surface material in a flagstone style. Very happy with the color palette and how slip resistant the surface is. Is it as cool as our original authentic Keystone Kool Deck coating? No. But it is cooler than other surfaces I've encountered in the valley. -We have a pool net with hooks that fasten into metal eyelets drilled into our pool deck surface. The crew was able to preserve the eyelets so we can continue using our safety net, no problem. -The owner told us that we'd see a white powder appear soon after installation, that it was part of the curing process and would eventually wash away. I was slightly alarmed to see the once pristine finish spotted with the powder, but he was right. A few months later, and the powder spots are nearly all gone. -Cash or check only. (50% down at start. 25% after initial prep work. 25% when complete). Very happy with the outcome. We now look forward to spending time at the pool instead of cringing while looking at an ugly, chipped surface.

The owner was punctual & professional. His workers were nice however, we never knew when they were going to show up, how long they'd be gone for lunch or what time they left. I asked them to tell us since we had 2 dogs locked in the house while they were working. The finished product looked pretty good, from what I could see, since it was too cold to get in the pool. I didn't like it at the separation between the pool & the in-ground spa. The owner sent them out, weeks later, to fix the area. By the end of the swim season I started seeing some hairline cracks, etc. I called the owner again but, he had just lost a loved one. So, I gave him several months before asking him to send them back out. They did eventually come out & fixed the areas. Once swimming season started again I started seeing all kinds of hair line cracks, a rather large crack by the steps & some sort of gouge right by the top step. Again, ""adequate"" seems to be the new norm.
