Got our deck and patio redone a few months ago. The whole process went fairly smoothly. I was interested in their Koolstone look. The owner came out for the estimate and answered all questions. Once I said yes to the estimate, we agreed on a start date. The crew finished in the estimated time. A few points: -Deck looks great. They applied their surface material in a flagstone style. Very happy with the color palette and how slip resistant the surface is. Is it as cool as our original authentic Keystone Kool Deck coating? No. But it is cooler than other surfaces I've encountered in the valley. -We have a pool net with hooks that fasten into metal eyelets drilled into our pool deck surface. The crew was able to preserve the eyelets so we can continue using our safety net, no problem. -The owner told us that we'd see a white powder appear soon after installation, that it was part of the curing process and would eventually wash away. I was slightly alarmed to see the once pristine finish spotted with the powder, but he was right. A few months later, and the powder spots are nearly all gone. -Cash or check only. (50% down at start. 25% after initial prep work. 25% when complete). Very happy with the outcome. We now look forward to spending time at the pool instead of cringing while looking at an ugly, chipped surface. read more

My pool's Kool deck was in dire need of repair or replacement. I decided to go with "Deck Services because of their various ""A"" ratings. And, the fact that they have been " in business for 40+ years (but, now Angie's List it shows 60+ years). If they've been in business that long they must be doing something right. The owner was punctual & professional. His workers were nice however, we never knew when they were going to show up, how long they'd be gone for lunch or what time they left. I asked them to tell us since we had 2 dogs locked in the house while they were working. The finished product looked pretty good, from what I could see, since it was too cold to get in the pool. I didn't like it at the separation between the pool & the in-ground spa. The owner sent them out, weeks later, to fix the area. By the end of the swim season I started seeing some hairline cracks, etc. I called the owner again but, he had just lost a loved one. So, I gave him several months before asking him to send them back out. They did eventually come out & fixed the areas. Once swimming season started again I started seeing all kinds of hair line cracks, a rather large crack by the steps & some sort of gouge right by the top step. Again, ""adequate"" seems to be the new norm. read more

It's unfair and disrespectful Not to provide a quote to the customer when you have promised. The person came to my home, checked my problem and said that he would let me know how much it would cost. More than a week past, no response! I called the company- the person said that he was still working on getting this quote! What the hell, I said to myself! I said ok, I will wait. It's been over 1 month, still nothing. Of course, I am not waiting for a call anymore. He could have been honest right from the beginning so that at least I am not going to rely on this company. I explained my problem well over the phone even before he came to my house. Be Honest and Transparent from the beginning! Do not hide! If you would not be happy with the money you would make or whatever the reason is, just say it. Disgraceful read more

David and the rest of the team at Deck Services are amazing. Our deck had some areas where the original paint started to peel off and parts of our pool's cantilever were broken and chipped. David showed up numerous times to give us a proper estimate of the work and go over the options and details with us. Once the work started, they did a great job keeping the backyard as clean as possible after each day of work, they protected the pool with plastic sheets to reduce the amount of dust that fell into it. The last few days were when the art started. Watching David and his team handcrafting each artificial flagstone with the Kooldecking material was an amazing sight. But not less important, the final two days when they did the cleanup and touchups, as well as how they left the backyard at the end was amazing. They did a full cleanup of the yard, vacuumed the pool using a special tool to get all the debris out, and washed the entire backyard to an amazing and pristine state. Not only was the price reasonable, out of all the deck guys we talked to, but their work and the quality of the result was top-notch. We had a traditional pool deck that was over 20 years old and badly in need of replacement. After obtaining three bids, we went with David and Deck Services. A real pleasure to work with! Estimate process was simple and straight forward. He answered all our questions in a timely manner, responded to e-mails/phone calls quickly and had samples available of the drain replacement and color options. Fortunately, he had an opening to begin work immediately. This is an incredibly messy job but Adrian and his assistants were fantastic about cleaning up at the end of each day! They protected our pool so clean up was not nearly as bad as we feared. Adrian is a master at what he does and was so helpful with some additional feature choices. The job was finished within the stated time frame - actually they finished early. The final product is AMAZING! We are beyond thrilled with the results! We made arrangements during the summer to have the deck redone November. David provided good pricing and the work was completed by 2 guys over 5 days. Workmanship is excellent. David with some negotiation added some small details that helped finish the deck the way it should be. Some small issues with the workmen using my tools and bucket in the backyard and not cleaning them afterwards. I recommend Deck Services for excellent pricing and workmanship. read more
