My partner and I entered into a contract with Hotshot Hardscaping on January 12, 2026, with the…read moreexpectation that our project would be completed by the end of April. Permits were finalized at the end of February, and construction began during the first week of March. At the beginning of the project, communication was excellent. The design team kept us informed of progress, timelines, and any challenges that arose. Unfortunately, as we approached the expected completion date, communication steadily declined. It eventually reached the point where we had to repeatedly email or call to receive status updates. Not to mention we have a jacuzzi spa getting installed & the dealer keeps calling asking when do we expect to coordinate delivery. Unfortunately we are two months behind the expected completion so at this point we have no clue. Because we have security cameras on our property, we were able to observe the work as it progressed. During the project, I frequently noticed trash left behind by contractors, including energy drink cans, water bottles, and food wrappers. In one instance, I observed a worker throw a can into our fire pit before covering it with gravel and lava rock. This level of carelessness was disappointing and unprofessional. It also became apparent that Hotshot relies heavily on subcontractors. During the installation of the sprinkler water line, the team was also supposed to account for a future extension for our misting system. Unfortunately, the water supply line for the misting system was never run, causing delays and additional work later. Additionally, the light for the misting fan was not connected. When we brought this to their attention, we discovered there had been no plan to connect it to the designated power switch unless we specifically requested it. It is now the later part of June 2026 and the project has still not concluded, with no update or communication in the last two weeks. Overall, the project felt disorganized. There rarely appeared to be a project manager onsite coordinating work or ensuring subcontractors understood the next steps. This lack of oversight resulted in missed details, delays, and unnecessary frustration. What makes this experience particularly surprising is Hotshot Hardscaping's nearly perfect 5-star rating. Based on our experience, either the level of professionalism and project management has declined significantly, or the reviews do not accurately reflect the customer experience. Either way, our experience was the complete opposite of what we expected based on the company's reputation. The contrast is so significant that it's difficult to believe we worked with the same company described in many of the reviews. While the project is slowly moving forward, the lack of communication, poor job-site cleanliness, missed installation details, and apparent lack of project oversight made the experience far more stressful than it should have been. I hope the company takes these concerns seriously and improves its communication, supervision, and quality control processes for future customers.

Well, I can't say that I am basing this review on the final product but I can say that this far…read moreit's been a let down. Jeff the sales professional is great but after his process was complete, things took a turn. I signed the paperwork towards the middle of October 2021. We didn't get permits for the initial excavation back until February 2022. The planning phase took SIX MONTHS. That's how long I was told the ENTIRE process would take. I've got pools going in all around me. Pools that were started WELL after mine. My neighbors will be swimming this summer and we will still be waiting. It is my opinion that this company over sells and under delivers. The companies that they contract out cannot keep up with the workload. My plumbers worked half days. So did electrical. The only team that did its job well was the excavation team. One of the plumbers was caught by my neighbor peeing on the side of my house - literally ON the house with the gate wide open where kids heading to school could see. The project planner responds to my concerns in single sentence responses. There is zero feeling of urgency or the understanding of it. We are paying 83,000 in cash for this pool and it seems like we are simply an after thought. Makes me wonder how warranty repairs will go in the future. For the record - here is the proof as to how long it took to get the basic planning stages done. I confirmed with the Buckeye permit office on 4/26/22. I sure do hope the finished product blows our mind because it may take a full year to get it. Edit 1) I am going to continue updating this as we move along in the process. So, shotcrete is a huge concern. Dawn was able to book our shotcrete less than two weeks after the inspection. This is unheard of due to them being so backed up. So this was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Edit 2) Shotcrete complete within 2 days. Plumbing and electrical and gas now complete. It's been moving along pretty well. Updating review score due to getting back on track. Edit 3) Randy the project supervisor came out and reviewed everything. He's a really good guy and you can tell he is concerned about getting the project done right. The finishing crew is here now and they too are really nice. They are plugging right along. Only typically working half days but this may be because they have other jobs going on at the same time.

My pool was built in the '80s and was not up to code, it split around the perimeter halfway down the water level and I lost over 10,000 gallons of water. It used to be a 22,000 gallon pool and by talking with David and Edward, we agreed on a better repair solution, also to half the amount of water that we would need after it was finished. At this time of year in Arizona, the temperatures exceed 100° f. Their crew was friendly and respectful of property, they had to work in this horrible heat, but they had no complaints. The crew even stayed past their normal finish time so that they wouldn't have to come in the next day and disrupt me and my dogs. Throughout the entire process, Andrew kept me up to date and gave me a few more ideas on pool design. This family-run business also collaborates with other companies to ensure the process is done correctly and up to code. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the end result, now bear in mind this was a pool repair company and a pool design company, they could have finished the entire pool, but I already had a different company on standby and they completely understood. There was no pressure to finish the entire pool with their company, which to me means that they are a very honest family-run business. I would highly recommend this family business for your pool needs.

We hired Innovative for a significant landscape and pool renovation project and, unfortunately, our…read moreexperience fell well short of expectations. The project ultimately ran approximately 1 1/2 years beyond the original anticipated timeline. Throughout the process, we dealt with multiple project managers, inconsistent communication, and numerous instances where completed work had to be redone. This included portions of the tile/travertine work in both our courtyard and backyard. Many of the pieces are still cracked and chipped. We also experienced significant issues with the landscaping. Many of the plants died within the first six months, irrigation/waterlines had to be corrected, and we found ourselves making many of the plant selections rather than receiving the level of design guidance we expected. Permitting was another area that required considerable follow-up on our part, including gas permits that were never properly completed. Unfortunately, some of the issues went beyond delays and inconvenience. On August 15, 2025, drainage and grading problems resulted in flooding that caused more than $12,000 in damage. We ultimately filed a complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, and drainage/piping corrections were completed in November 2025. The only way to get them to repair the issues that they refused to correct and said was not part of their scope of work, even though they fully demolished and rebuilt the entire front and back landscape, was by filing a complaint with the ROC and having a demand letter sent to them. With that being said I highly recommend that you check their current standing with the Maricopa County ROC as they have one of their licenses revoked. We also experienced issues with the pool, including a significant chip in the pebble tec that required the pool to be drained and repaired, followed by the cost and inconvenience of filling it again within the first year.l, which we had to pay out of pocket for refilling of water and chemicals. There were certainly aspects of the finished project that we liked, which makes the overall experience especially disappointing. With a project of this size and expense, we expected stronger project management, communication, quality control, and follow-through. Even after the construction issues were addressed, we continued to experience difficulty with follow-through. At the time of this review, Innovative is approximately four months delinquent on a written payment agreement related to our project. I recognize that large construction and landscape projects can encounter unexpected challenges. However, the combination of the extended timeline, repeated rework, permitting and drainage issues, property damage, and ongoing follow-through concerns made this a very difficult experience for our family.
