Chicken Chorizo Skillet with poached eggs and a house-made flour tortilla!
    Kevin E.

UPDATE! We were just in the Cafe for brunch and they have a special that deserves mention: Chicken Chorizo Skillet. It comes with house made tortillas and two eggs any style. This dish is next level delicious and worth a drive. If you delay and don't see it on the menu, ask for it. We need this to become a regular!!

This place was cute and our food was good! I had the Benedict with a side chocolate chip pancakes. my latte was watery so not a big fan of the coffee and i think one of our orders didn't get put in so it was a little late but no biggie. the food was good and would go again!

We had a nice experience here. Food was absolutely wonderful. Service was prompt and professional, although perhaps slightly rushed and to-the-point, although personally I like that. There was no wait for a table, although it was reasonably busy for a weekday. I bet on weekends it's absolutely hopping! The breakfast quesadilla was delicious and my BF was happy with his huevos rancheros. The one thing I wasn't completely satisfied with was the coffee - not sure if it was just a bad batch, because some of the other reviews mentioned it was good, but I thought it was pretty bad. Not undrinkable, but for $11 for two cups, I would like it be at least be decent. It's not a cheap restaurant, but the food is great, the portions are sizable, and we are in Napa, after all. We'll be back for sure, but we'll skip the coffee, and you should, too :)

Great spot for a tasty meal. Huge menu included breakfast items all day. The garden omelette was delicious! The spinach quesadilla filled with cheese was also very good.

We came here for breakfast our last day in Napa. I had the huevos rancheros and it was fine. The food was fresh, the chips were crispy, my egg was cooked over medium and the beans and rice were good. Next time I'll try another dish. My friend had an omelette with potatoes, also good. We enjoyed the coffee as well. The servers were friendly and the space was crowded.

Loooove Sunshine Cafe! We came here after a hike and saw the great reviews and had to try it. The decor is so cute! And it's surprisingly big on the inside in addition to having a lot of outdoor seating. 10-15 minute wait on a weekend to be seated wasn't bad at all! The service was awesome and quick :) my friend got the meat lover omelette and I got a couple eggs and bacon. Cooked perfectly and tasted great. Definitely recommend.

A traditional American breakfast/lunch spot with big portions :) We had the chicken waffle, biscuits with gravy, and a quesadilla. Everything was tasty, with the waffle being particularly fresh and well-textured. Quesadilla was marked as hot dish, but it wasn't. The service was quick and efficient, and the outdoor seating was great. Also, there is available parking lot.

Cute little spot with farm vibes. They are quite busy. Wait staff was nice but they are so busy it's hard to be attentive. Mimosa wasn't sweet, Boozy hot chocolate was strong, so beware. Lol. Some of the best potatoes I've ever had. Biscuits were a bit hard and lacking flavor. Overall nice cafe.

Rainy days calls for brunch in a cozy space. That is exactly what Sunshine Cafe is. Now, don't be discouraged by the wait time, a good 20 or so but it's worth every bite. It has been awhile since I was last here but nothing has change. The quality of food is still as excellent as ever. My mother and I had a little brunch date. We ordered pancakes, (2) eggs any style and the chicken and waffles. The only comment I have is that the chicken on the chicken and waffles was a bit...herby for me? As in the spices just seemed sour to me. The waffles were amazing. We had asked for extra tea and one of the team members shared that it would cost extra. We asked another team member and they never mentioned any additional charges. We double checked the receipt at the end and no additional charges so there might be room for staff knowledge. Other than that, good experience and good food.

The coffee cake, delicious. No sour cream. Disappointed customers.

I'll start with the positives -- the jam was absolutely amazing, and the coffee cake wasn't too shabby either. Those were definite highlights. Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. I expected it to be busy on a Sunday morning and was willing to give some grace, but the consistency just wasn't there. We waited 25 minutes to be seated, which is understandable, but once seated I would have expected better follow-through. * My eggs (ordered over medium) came out extremely runny. * Coffee didn't arrive until 15 minutes after being seated. * Every time I asked for something, the waitress would rush off before I could finish the request, and items either came very late or not at all (for example, I never received the sour cream I asked for). * Pancakes I ordered on the side showed up after the rest of the meal was finished. They were comped, which I appreciated, but the timing made them pointless. * Biscuits arrived about 10 minutes after the rest of the meal as well. On top of that, when it came time to pay, we had asked for part cash/part card, but the bill was split incorrectly. By the time we left, it had been nearly two hours for a simple breakfast, which was frustrating and disappointing. Overall, the food had bright spots (the jam and coffee cake especially), but the slow, inconsistent service really overshadowed them.

Have gone twice in a month, with My Husband the 1st time, He had the Chicken and Waffles and I had the Classic Eggs Benedict, service was great Thanks to Megan!! Oddly the 2nd visit which was a week ago Saturday we sat at the same table with My Friend and Her 2 little Girls, My Friend and I split the croissant breakfast sandwich with killer potatoes that were yummy and crispy!! Again We had Megan, She's very attentive and on top of filling our coffees, giving us more napkins etc.....very Friendly and always has a smile!! The Girls Love the Chocolate Chip Pancakes!!

The offer adorable plates for pastries to enjoy there. I got a lemon verbena pastry, and a fig leaf latte. I like that their offerings are a bit unique, and the pastry was delicate, tasty, though a little less crisp that I'd like - perhaps because it was later in the day? The fig leaf latte was also tasty - though I couldnt really taste a big difference between the fig leaf syrup and vanilla - it seemed to be missing a little something to really bring out the fig leaf flavor. Overall, a cute little cafe to grab a pastry and coffee at, and I'd like to come back earlier in the day to try some of the other pastries! A little pricier than some of the other pastries in the area, but they're definitely a little more elevated here :)

If you're looking for an easy breakfast option without having to wander far, this spot definitely does the job. Just keep in mind that their weekday breakfast hours are pretty limited--Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM--so timing is everything. Even with the early hours, the café was surprisingly busy. You could tell they were short-staffed that morning, but honestly, the team handled it like champs. They moved with purpose, stayed friendly, and kept everything running smoothly despite the rush. Watching them hustle made me appreciate the experience even more. I wasn't super hungry, so I went with something simple: the steel-cut oats. Light, warm, and exactly what I needed to ease into the day. My boyfriend ordered the Catalan omelet, which looked hearty and flavorful--definitely the kind of breakfast that sets you up for a day of wine tasting. We grabbed a booth near the front of the café, which was surprisingly cozy and gave us a nice view of the morning bustle. Overall, it was a convenient and enjoyable breakfast stop during our stay. Not a huge menu and not long hours, but the staff's effort and the comfortable atmosphere made it a solid way to start the day. I heard the management had changed so I went back. The service actually got worse. I used the online menu to choose breakfast and called in multiple orders. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with an English muffin which came with the breakfast. When I got there to pick up, I encounter a younger lady, thin with longer blondish hair. I think she is also the bartender and the little pub next to the restaurant. Right away, she was unfriendly and stand offish. I was picking up several orders and each had prices that differed from what was online. When I told her, she didn't care. She said that's and old menu. When she got to my order, she looked and me and said, you had a ham and cheese omelet with an English muffin on the side? I told her that the menu said it came with it and I wasn't told it was extra. She said "well, I didn't answer the phone." She was very rude. I would have paid the extra price. The price wasn't the issue, even though the online menu didn't match what I was charged. I know she isn't in charge of menu price, but you don't have to be rude to a customer. I was so disgusted about the way she was glaring and me and speaking to me, I canceled my order. She looked at me and said, that's fine. Not once, did she try to remedy the situation. What really concerns me is that this restaurant is at the Veterans home. How does this person treat a veteran's family member that may have traveled many miles to come and see a loved one? How do they treat the Veterans?
