Hamburger bun with a square hash brown on the bottom, a beef patty on top, cheese and a fried egg.
Rae Y.

We really enjoyed eating at Sunshine Cafe for the first time! We've heard a lot of great things from folks that visit Adagio coffee and we knew they were a sister restaurant. So glad that we were able to finally give it a try! Jon ordered a 3 egg scramble with cheddar cheese and chives but he had mushrooms and spinach added! So yummy! He also up charged the toast for fruit. I ordered a BIG BREAKFAST which is a sandwich with a square hash brown, cheese, burger patty and a fried egg on top. The aioli seemed like it was just mayo... and the bun was meh. So I ate everything in between the two buns and it was super yummy! I also uncharged and got fruit and they gave us yummy strawberry, blueberries and banana! Really enjoyed the fruit! Great meal! Very short wait for good and the waitress was very pleasant and quick to take order and give us our bill.

Surprised by the good food, cute interior and reasonable prices. My search for restaurants don't bring it up, we just happened by when shopping.

Great service. Freshly renovated. Well priced. Adagio, coffee, and delicious ripe avocado that I had on the side of my hashbrowns. We arrived early mid week, and it was quiet. If you arrive, when it's busy, the acoustics could be a little bit difficult. I wish there were more vegan options. The pricing was good. I wish I didn't smell the bacon as a vegan. It was pretty strong. We loved our waitress. She was fabulous. I definitely recommend this restaurant in Sequim.

After my first bite of the pickled pear salad, it was hard to pause long enough for a picture.

Decided to try Sunshine Cafe today. We were very happy with the choice. I had a delicious pickled pear salad but unfortunately pear season is coming to an end so it won't be available much longer. My husband had an omelet. We both emitted enjoyed our meals. The service was great, friendly and competent.

New owners have really taken it up a notch. Their BBQ brisket is off the charts. I'm from the Midwest where we know BBQ. Tastes as good as it gets.

The waitresses all seemed very polite and happy. I was going to try their famous Apple Pancake, but then saw the Raspberry Lemon Bar French Toast breakfast special. The flavor was terrific, and the texture of the French toast was the best I've ever experienced. My mom liked the look of my raspberry syrup so much, that she asked the waitress to take away her maple, and bring raspberry for her pancakes. I also tried their very popular bacon. It had great flavor, but was very dry. Next time, I'd ask for it limp. I guess the crispy bacon is really popular, but wasn't really my thing. The flavor it was so amazing, though, that I can't wait to try it again, just less cooked. The Hawaiian Sunrise mocktail tasted so much like cherry, that I couldn't taste the pineapple that much, but the hot chocolate was seriously the best hot chocolate I've ever had. It was so creamy and sweet, and just the right strength of chocolate flavor.

It was sweet and buttery so I didn't even need to add syrup or butter to my French toast! Vegetable omelette was super yummy and we are super appreciative that the server was able to substitute potatoes and toast for squash due to Jon's dietary needs. The bad: They only serve drip coffee. We live in Sequim! They really need to step up their coffee game and offer lattes and expressos. I ordered OJ. They were out of OJ. Really? The ugly: My over easy eggs were UGLY.... Both eggs were broken and one was overcooked. So relieved they did good and replaced them with yummy over easy eggs. The other ugly (which caused the 4 star review) is how EXPENSIVE this restaurant is. Jon ordered a vegetarian omelette $18 plus $3 salsa plus $3 avocado plus $3 change of potato and toast to squash. Really? His one omelette order cost $27 before tax! $30 after tax!

Finished up with some carrot cake... dense and delectable!

We stopped in on Thanksgiving Day for breakfast, and even though they were packed, the kitchen still delivered. I ordered the classic breakfast--crispy bacon, perfectly done eggs, golden hashbrowns with just the right crunch, and an English muffin. Everything tasted fresh, familiar, and comforting. My friend had the biscuits and gravy with meat, and it was exactly what you want on a chilly Washington morning: hearty, flavorful, and seriously satisfying. Service was friendly, but with the holiday rush it was definitely a bit chaotic. We had to track someone down for coffee refills, which wasn't a huge deal but worth noting. Aside from that, the overall experience was great. If you're craving solid comfort food and a welcoming, down-to-earth vibe, Mariner Café is an easy recommendation--especially on cold days when you just want something warm and delicious. I'd definitely go back!

They had to change the syrup for my soda, which took almost 15 minutes. When my soda arrived, it wasn't diet but the sugared version. No attempt made to fix this. When my meal arrived, the scramble ordered with egg whites only had bits of egg shell. I'm not sure how they got there, but it was I little like Russian Roulette as every third bit or so contained a tiny little egg shell piece. It was off putting. The potato hash accompanying the egg shell scramble was too greasy to have. Combine this food with a slightly combative server and you get a terrible and, in my case, unforgivable experience. Zero things went well and all of them went poorly. Breakfast for 2 was 60 bucks plus tip, and it's money I've invested in learning how much I do not care for Chestnut Cottage. 0/5, do not recommend

Had a great time and we stopped here for dinner on a Sunday around 4:30 before heading back home. This great looking restaurant didn't exist last time we were in Sequim. It's right next door to the attractive Holiday Inn Express. Because I had a bit of a drive ahead of me, we ordered no beer or wine, just stuck with ice cold water. My wife ordered the Chicken Caesar Melt ($15.39), marinated grilled chicken breast with Caesar dressing, lettuce, tomato, and Swiss & jack cheeses on sourdough bread grilled with a Parmesan crust. Came with a choice of sides and she had the onion rings. I had Mikey's Homemade Chicken Pot Pie ($17.99), which also came with choice of sides. I had the green beans and bacon, which was very flavorful, but the beans were cooked to death...soft and mushy 50's style; probably wouldn't order them again. Except for the beans, we both thought our food choices were excellent. My wife asked for tartar sauce for her rings and it definitely was not our preferred style...too sweet. Just give us dill relish, mayo and a little onion...no sugar or other sweetener please. Lots of young people working here...all very polite, well-spoken and cordial. Our server did a great job!
