Black Bear Diner - Sequim is perfectly situated off of the highway entering into Sequim. The menu is vast and offers something for every dietary preference. Ordering and customer service was great, I really appreciate the ability to place a very large order online prior to arrival. The ambiance is memorable, and can easily become a visitors favorite place to stop as the diner is adorned with so many adorable wooden bears; I recommend! read more

We had a great time here on Mother's Day. It was a busy Sunday morning, but they got us right in no problem. Our server was new but she did a excellent job helping us out. The food came out really quick and the coffee Refills were very plentiful. The staff worked really well together. The portions were very big and everything was very tasty. I liked that they had their own hot sauces that you could choose from and a cool little mini gift shop if you wanted to buy their famous bear mugs. The menus are on a newspaper, so that was pretty unique to see. Overall, I was quite impressed with the service and the food being on a holiday. read more

Went here while charging the Tesla. The exterior was beautifully landscaped with a large Koi pond and water features. We were surprised to find that the restaurant was not newly built, but was in fact 14 years old. It was impeccable clean. The staff was friendly but slow, spending time chit chatting among themselves. The food was slow to arrive even though it was an off time. The food was average. American sized portions. The corn beef hash was dry. The toast was the best thing on the plate. The hash browns were wide cut and flavorless. The eggs Benedict was good. read more

The Black Bear Diner Sequim is exactly what you want it to be- fast friendly service, delicious breakfast food, reasonably priced, and a relaxed environment. There are so many breakfast options on the menu, it would be hard to not find something to try. We ordered the Cinnamon Roll French toast (very sweet and loads of cinnamon, I enjoyed it) and the biscuits and gravy(did not like the biscuits as they were more like a bread roll) with sausage Patties ( very good). Our coffee was always filled, and the service was excellent. read more

Been to different Black Bear Diners in different states and have been happy..... but this one In Sequim Washington seems to lack a few things. Our waitress was ok but the rest of the staff didn't seem very thrilled to serve us.... After getting our food it turned out to be just so so... might have been an off day for the place... who knows, try it for yourself read more

Not good enough. Not everyone posts reviews. There were others there that evening that had order issues and never said anything. wait person running all over getting nothing done. My meal should have been redone, not scraped off the plate and reserved with cold sides. read more

Having breakfast here last weekend with my family of 4 might possibly be the best experience I've had a Black Bear Diner EVER, and I've been to too many of them to count. It's also the most beautifully landscaped with lovely water features to look at if you're seated on the patio or by the window. I wish I could remember the waitress' name, sweet older lady, probably in her 50s--but she was SO nice and I really appreciated how accommodating she was about substitutions. She really went above and beyond. My 6 year old was jonesing for diced ham and scrambled eggs, which wasn't on the kids menu, but the waitress made it happen. Then when my daughter was wishing she had a biscuit like the one that my husband was too hungry to share, the kind waitress brought us an extra one on the house. Best experience ever, and the food was perfectly prepared. read more

Jordan took our order he is a new guy I like him he was real genuine about getting everything right. He asked how do we want our burger done and I told him I like a little red and he did not just give an answer he went out of his way to compare his experience by saying that when he orders his well done there is a little pink so he will put well done done. My wife and I share the Bob's Big Burger and she likes well done I like medium well done. Jordan cared enough to make it work for both of us and he didn't even know the back story. When he packed our food I watched him he carefully made sure we had everything that we needed. He is a keeper and then some Just another fine attribute at this wonderful establishment. read more

Always friendly and good food . Gets crowded on weekend mornings . Never had an issue

Black Bear Diner food is always average to me. It's not bad and typically consistent so you know what you are getting. We stopped here for dinner after a long drive and the food was exactly what we anticipated. That said, this location is pretty cute as they really embrace the theme even more so than other locations. Our server was also super nice and really on top of things. He was quick to get us anything we needed and took care of us. If you want something reliable and you're hungry, they wont let you down! read more

Good food, excellent portions. Service was not so good. Waited for a long time for everything. Order wasn't correct. Typical bbd decor. Not really a great place. Good for seniors I guess. read more

One star atmosphere, two star for the great waitstaff. But I have had diarrhea all evening and night/smelling like the lukewarm chicken noodle soup I was served. Soup should be served hot. Lord only knows how long it sat off the stove or how old it was. Never go there again. No excuses! read more

While service was excellent food was terrible. I asked for hamburger "pink" and got a "hockey puck ". Fries were extremely salty. I ended up not eating the meal. In fairness the server did offer to ask the cook if they would redo but I opted not to as I had been waiting for a while. The server ended up taking the charges for the meal off my bill but really a big disappointment. read more

My wife and I hadn't been up to Sequim from Bremerton, WA for a few years, but headed up there to the local garden show and a chance to hear gardener extraordinaire Ciscoe Morris speak. Had a great time and we stopped here for dinner on a Sunday around 4:30 before heading back home. This great looking restaurant didn't exist last time we were in Sequim. It's right next door to the attractive Holiday Inn Express. Because I had a bit of a drive ahead of me, we ordered no beer or wine, just stuck with ice cold water. My wife ordered the Chicken Caesar Melt ($15.39), marinated grilled chicken breast with Caesar dressing, lettuce, tomato, and Swiss & jack cheeses on sourdough bread grilled with a Parmesan crust. Came with a choice of sides and she had the onion rings. I had Mikey's Homemade Chicken Pot Pie ($17.99), which also came with choice of sides. I had the green beans and bacon, which was very flavorful, but the beans were cooked to death...soft and mushy 50's style; probably wouldn't order them again. Except for the beans, we both thought our food choices were excellent. My wife asked for tartar sauce for her rings and it definitely was not our preferred style...too sweet. Just give us dill relish, mayo and a little onion...no sugar or other sweetener please. Lots of young people working here...all very polite, well-spoken and cordial. Our server did a great job! We would gladly return. read more

Food:4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value for Money: 5/5 A Pleasant Surprise at Black Bear DinerReview: My first visit to Black Bear Diner was unexpectedly delightful! The ambiance is pretty standard, but the food deserves a mention.I opted for the Chicken Avocado Club sandwich with sweet potato fries. Although I couldn't really taste the avocado, the sandwich was fresh, with crispy bacon that elevated its taste beyond just decent. My friend's Turkey Club was also a hit, bursting with flavor and fresh ingredients. The service added to the experience, with our waitress being incredibly sweet and attentive. The Chicken Strips we tried were just right, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. While we didn't explore the entire menu, I can confidently say that the club sandwiches are a solid choice. Black Bear Diner may not be a hidden gem, but it's certainly worth a visit for those looking for a satisfying meal with great service. read more

I love a good diner for breakfast foods. I love breakfast foods and don't need fancy - I just need it to be good. This was my kind of place. I ordered the Shasta Veggie Scramble and chose the hashbrowns with biscuit, plus a coffee. Mind you, this was a 2 o'clock lunch. Their scramble had avocado(!) and paired with good veggies. The hashbrowns though - yesss for the ribbons! The crunchy potato ribbons!!! Their homemade biscuit is also key for a wonderful meal. I honestly enjoyed this meal so much.. and I love this restaurant and want to go back to a Black Bear Diner when I go back home to California. haha. The food came out much slower than breakfast foods normally take to cook though. As a party of 5, we were wondering what was up. The server came back to fill our cups, but didn't advise why our food was taking a bit longer. P.S. this place also serves lunch/dinner foods. read more

I have been going to Black Bear Diner since it opened. Always loved their "The GRIZZ!" but I cannot eat that much anymore. Their pancakes are the best and my current favorite is the "Reuben" which they always have. Other local restaurants only serve it on Saint Partick's day and even then, BBD is the best. We have tried other Black Bear Diners, but they are not as good as Sequim's BBD! read more

I love breakfast here; the portions are huge and it's always good. I went for dinner. I ordered the Crispy Chicken salad. Yes, it was big, everything was good, except for the chicken. For a restaurant that's known for generous servings, the chicken was a surprise. A very small amount, chopped in tiny pieces, about the size you might cut up for a cat. Or a mouse. They were that small. The batter had a greasy taste. I'll stick with breakfast from now on. read more

This place is pretty nice food is always delicious. I always order the chicken fried steak and the biscuits and gravy. It is a hit and miss on the service. Sometime you go in there and it is dead no customers. But you wait at the door for 10 min before anyone says hi to you. Then you get seated and have to wait another 10 or 15 min for your server to come back . read more

Always a good and plentiful meal there. Good service too. Wait staff was friendly and attentive.

Going to the kinda places., You know the food is going to be a solid 5/10. And honestly after camping or something that is exactly what you want. This location is just poor though. The server we had was fine but forgetful for a few things. Not a super big deal, but she did drop a whole hot pot of coffee that fell on the floor and got all over my boyfriend's legs. The server had no sense of urgency, yes it wasn't a third degree burn but it hurt and he still can feel it 20 min later. She did return with a napkin with some ice and offered a free desert. We tried to make the most of the situation, he was clearly upset and even the other tables were shocked on how it seemed the server just didn't care. When we did get to pay the host girl. (She was younger and name started with an S) tried adding the desert and when I asked why the price went up she began auditing the tab as though I didn't know. I corrected her and she still pushed back. In the end we left and will not return to this location. One or two off things are one thing, but even when that place is busy we have had great times. This one experience truly made so we won't return and will tell our friends and family to skip it all together. Sucks. read more

Great place to go if you like being completely ignored when it isn't even busy. I get it -- you're closing soon and you don't want my money. Good news! You'll never get another cent of it. Been to many Black Bears and this was the most disappointing. Ordered the chicken fried steak, usually amazing. This time, not so much. It was about the size of a McDonalds burger patty. Not much flavor, added salt and pepper so it had something. Hash browns were greasy and blah. Not the best experience for sure. We won't be back. read more

The waiter was very good. The food was 3.5. I had breakfast for dinner and it was average. Prefer the non chain restaurants in town

Came here with my family after a nice 8 mile hike in the Olympic National Park and boy were we hungry!! Staff was friendly and they served us lots of coffee and ice tea. It did take a while for the food though. Everyone was in the mood for breakfast and I was the only one who ordered lunch. When our meals arrived I must admit the breakfast choices Lion delicious ! I ordered the tri tip dip with a side salad and it was tasty as well. Atmosphere is really cute and so were all the cute bears outside. read more

My friends told me I had to go to this place to get their pancakes. I should've listened to their advice because what we got was really disappointing. Atmosphere: For sure really cute. It's got black bear stuff all over and it's all super cute. There's a little merch shop in the front that you can buy cute things. The menu is a newspaper and it's very expansive. Service: Fast and friendly. Food: Pretty disappointing here. Partner got the Big Burger (named after the owner) so he was excited for it. Unfortunately, even though he asked for it to be cooked Medium Rare, it came out pretty much well done. Why even ask for how you want it to be cooked if the burgers all just get cooked well done?? Also, lack of flavor and nothing special. I got the California Bacon Eggs Benny (subbed the bacon for Ham). It was smothered (see pic) in Hollandaise sauce. Listen, usually I love Hollandaise and I feel like most people don't give you enough typically....but this was overkill. The whole thing was covered and I had to dig through the sauce to find my tomato, avocado, ham, etc. I didn't even think it came on an English muffin at first because I couldn't find it. When I finally did, it was all soggy in the sauce. The flavors was all just Hollandaise sauce - I tasted nothing else. Literally everything was swimming in it. Maybe I should've just stuck with their pancakes.... but overall probably would not recommend. read more

The absolute worst breakfast I have ever had. Ordered the meat lovers omelette and hash-browns. I asked for American cheese on the omelette and when they brought it out it had small tiny squares of cold cheese and the omelette itself was covered in grease. The hash-browns were no better. I think I may have broken a few teeth with the couple of bites that I did try. We will never ever go back!!!! read more
