Sausage patty, rags, biscuits with sausage gravy.
Abby A.

The Black Bear Diner Sequim is exactly what you want it to be- fast friendly service, delicious breakfast food, reasonably priced, and a relaxed environment. There are so many breakfast options on the menu, it would be hard to not find something to try. We ordered the Cinnamon Roll French toast (very sweet and loads of cinnamon, I enjoyed it) and the biscuits and gravy(did not like the biscuits as they were more like a bread roll) with sausage Patties ( very good). Our coffee was always filled, and the service was excellent.

My kids love Black Bear Diner!

Having breakfast here last weekend with my family of 4 might possibly be the best experience I've had a Black Bear Diner EVER, and I've been to too many of them to count. It's also the most beautifully landscaped with lovely water features to look at if you're seated on the patio or by the window. I wish I could remember the waitress' name, sweet older lady, probably in her 50s--but she was SO nice and I really appreciated how accommodating she was about substitutions. She really went above and beyond. My 6 year old was jonesing for diced ham and scrambled eggs, which wasn't on the kids menu, but the waitress made it happen. Then when my daughter was wishing she had a biscuit like the one that my husband was too hungry to share, the kind waitress brought us an extra one on the house. Best experience ever, and the food was perfectly prepared.

While service was excellent food was terrible. I asked for hamburger "pink" and got a "hockey puck ". Fries were extremely salty. I ended up not eating the meal. In fairness the server did offer to ask the cook if they would redo but I opted not to as I had been waiting for a while. The server ended up taking the charges for the meal off my bill but really a big disappointment.

Chicken Avocado Club (970-1130 cals.)

Food:4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value for Money: 5/5 A Pleasant Surprise at Black Bear DinerReview: My first visit to Black Bear Diner was unexpectedly delightful! The ambiance is pretty standard, but the food deserves a mention.I opted for the Chicken Avocado Club sandwich with sweet potato fries. Although I couldn't really taste the avocado, the sandwich was fresh, with crispy bacon that elevated its taste beyond just decent. My friend's Turkey Club was also a hit, bursting with flavor and fresh ingredients. The service added to the experience, with our waitress being incredibly sweet and attentive. The Chicken Strips we tried were just right, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. While we didn't explore the entire menu, I can confidently say that the club sandwiches are a solid choice. Black Bear Diner may not be a hidden gem, but it's certainly worth a visit for those looking for a satisfying meal with great service.

Slow cooked pot roast with Onion Rings

Awesome road trip lunch stop! Their Portion size is humongous! We loved the pot roast with onion rings, and their new item Chicken Caesar Melt. Definitely recommend this Black Bear Diner to travelers on their way to Olympic National Park.

Shasta Veggie Scramble with hashbrowns and a biscuit

I love a good diner for breakfast foods. I love breakfast foods and don't need fancy - I just need it to be good. This was my kind of place. I ordered the Shasta Veggie Scramble and chose the hashbrowns with biscuit, plus a coffee. Mind you, this was a 2 o'clock lunch. Their scramble had avocado(!) and paired with good veggies. The hashbrowns though - yesss for the ribbons! The crunchy potato ribbons!!! Their homemade biscuit is also key for a wonderful meal. I honestly enjoyed this meal so much.. and I love this restaurant and want to go back to a Black Bear Diner when I go back home to California. haha. The food came out much slower than breakfast foods normally take to cook though. As a party of 5, we were wondering what was up. The server came back to fill our cups, but didn't advise why our food was taking a bit longer. P.S. this place also serves lunch/dinner foods.

I have been going to Black Bear Diner since it opened. Always loved their "The GRIZZ!" but I cannot eat that much anymore. Their pancakes are the best and my current favorite is the "Reuben" which they always have. Other local restaurants only serve it on Saint Partick's day and even then, BBD is the best. We have tried other Black Bear Diners, but they are not as good as Sequim's BBD!

The menu is very comfort food oriented and you will get your money's worth! I had a cup of Gumbo to start which was loaded with fish and meat. Partner had the corn bread with honey butter which was delicious. I had the smoked Ribs Dinner with red beans & rice and seasonal vegetables on the side. The ribs were so tender they fell off the bone when I touched them lightly with a fork! They have their own smoker and a crew member who does nothing but smoked meat outside. Partner had the signature crab cakes with salad which she devoured. Pierre did a masterful job of my Hurricane cocktail (from New Orleans) and I also recommend trying the Blackberry Smash. We were too full for dessert but the Peanut Butter Bomb looks decadent! Staff is super nice and expect the owners Heidi, Pierre and Tammy to come out and say hi at some point. The restaurant is on a hill looking over Sequim and has a beautiful view. Plenty of outside seating when the weather permits. You won't be disappointed with the value for the price and there's no shortage of menu choice so you won't get bored.

I was starving and asked for bread out quick which they accommodated despite it not being on the menu as an app. We had a little lag for our food, but they were slammed busy, not a single spot open at the bar or the tables. We ended up sitting at the bar for quicker service, The Cocktails here are 5 Stars!!! They have a creative cocktail list, they use premium ingredients and actually put some alcohol into your drink! My husband also enjoyed his Manhattan, so good he actually had two and I tried their Fall twist on an old-fashioned, which was called a Lady Jane. Bourbon with a little apple spice mix, black walnut bitters , orange twist & fresh nutmeg on top, wow! They also have a decent wine list and great beers on tap. For apps we just had to get the Dungeness crab mac & cheese, and let me tell you, this is probably some of the best mac & cheese I've ever had. The Beechers cheese is just wonderful and the crab was plentiful..., don't sleep on this! BTW, they also have a lobster mac & cheese too. For our mains we had the petrale sole with mashed potatoes and veggies & a Beurre blanc sauce and the filet mignon with baked potato and veggies. The Sole was not as thin or delicate, as I normally would expect, but it was still very good. The filet was a tad more medium but very tasty nonetheless. The portions are large, so there was absolutely no room for dessert. The views from the bar of the golf course are beautiful and service was amazing from our bartender Brittney!
