This place is alright. I use to go here quite often and the biggest complaint I would have is they would all come up with different prices even though I would get the same thing done every time. My sister-in-law wasn't happy with her nails from here because the paint job was not very good, which I have experienced every so often here as well. I have been cut once or twice too. I was looking for a new place to have my nails done & found this place as I was driving to the Mall! Had my pedicure done and everything was fine... then I was past on to this young girl and was told I was in good hands.... so as I sat down I had a bad feeling right away I just did... anyway I asked for oval and long and the girl did my nails a shape I can't even describe & my thumb nail was way shorter than my other nails and needless to say it was the worst manicure I ever had. The girl in charge had to reshape and file the gel off!!! I was there for so long & did I mention I still ended up paying 108.00 plus I tipped both of them on top of that!!!!!! No breaks their! I will never go here again and I still upset my nails aren't the length I wanted then because the first girl messed them up. I got French tips on my hands and feet. They look awesome. I have never gotten french tips so I dont know how much they usually go for. I spent 66 bucks for both. They do use hot stones to massage your calves, its so nice. Really nice staff and quick service. No appointment needed. I walked right in and only waited about three minutes. read more

This lady cuts my nails round and when I told her these were not coffin nails, she stopped shaping my nails and told me she would not service me any further unless I paid the extra $22 for her to reshape them when SHE messed them up. I love this place for their pedi's. The hot stones are the best part! The chairs are relatively old, so don't expect the massage chair to be fabulous. The people are consistent. I am a bit of a perfectionist, so to me the pedi's are good, but not great. They have a lot of traffic so it is pretty quick. My suggestion is to spend some more time on the quality of the painting, more hot stones, and ramp up the place to make it more serene, more (up dated) polish, and get better chairs. I had been going to this salon for years but lately the service has been terrible and the quality has been even worse!My sister got a gel manicure there a few weeks ago and asked them not to use the drill (it is TERRIBLE for your nails) the next day all of the nail polish had fallen off and when she went back they told her it was her fault because she didn't use the drill then lectured her about it while she was getting he nails re done. My first visit at sunset nails was pretty good. The lady that did my nails the first time was polite and did a really good job on my nails. So I decided to try them out again since my first experience was so great. Second time around, I didn't call to make an appt because I forgot the name of the place so I came in as a walk-in. The lady that did my nails before was busy, so they set me up with another technician. I didn't get a chance to get her name. She was nice in the beginning, after she started doing my nails right away I could tell she wasn't that experienced. The shapes she did on my nails was all different sizes and the fill she did was not smooth and even. The fill was lumpy in some spots. When I begin to address my issues with my nails she started being rude and started getting frustrated. I told her I'm not trying to be rude I'm just being honest. Then another technician came over and was standing over me while the other technician complained to her about doing my nails. I thought that was rude and unprofessional as well. By this time she had begin to paint my nails as she was painting my nails she missed some spots. So again I told her and she started putting globs of nail polish on my nails. At this point I was pissed off because not only was she being rude, my nails looked a mess and I still had to pay for something that I did not like. I was so mad I didn't even bother to get my feet done. I thought I found a new nail shop to go to but I was wrong. I traveled 40 minutes just to go there and it was a waste of my time & money! Worst experience ever! I went to this nail salon because my normal nail salon was closed and I wanted to get a cute full set done before my family came to town. I went in and waited because they were behind which wasn't a big deal. But when i finally sat down to do my nails it was a disaster! I have two request make them sort of thin and short because of my work the nails can not be really long. The whole time she did my nails she kept com planing how i wanted them short then when she was finished she only put one application top coat which resulted in my nails being not shiny and looked half finished then she went on and left me in chair to clean. I even had to go back the other day because i paid for my nails to be done and they were not luckily another technician put three more tops coats and my nails were nice and shiny. Good i thought! Until 2 days later my nails started cracking and lifting. I couldn't believe it! This was a total waste of money and i decided to rip my nails off after only having them for a week total! I will never waste my money here again nor will I return i rather drive the 45 mins or wait next time till my normal salon is open. read more

Expensive and bad service. Beware they ask you for the tip before they do the job and if you don't give a tip good enough for them they give you a poor job. The lady charged me $5.00 extra to put some top coat with glitter. (In other places this is included on the refill because is not really any art). The glitter was old and chewy, it took 2 hours to get dry and in the meantime, the nails were screwed, some paint in the corners of my nails fall off. I requested also to do my toes. she did not file them, she did a very poor job taking off the previous color and painted on top as that (was dark blue, and the new top was pink!). The place I regularly go they file my nails and give them form. I went there because was open for the holiday and the regular place I go was closed, and wanted to try this place because is close to my house. I will never go back to this place! read more

I gave this place only two stars because the description of that rating says it all, "Meh. I've experienced better." And oh, have I! I was so disappointed in this place after reading all the other good reviews! Maybe we just caught them on an off day. My boyfriend and I went in for pedicures today around 3 pm. This was his first time getting a pedi and I wanted it to be a good experience but honestly it was on the low end of mediocre. They were a little busy with only three people working so maybe they were just in a hurry and rushed through our pedis but mostly I think I am disappointed because it had so much potential to be really good! We did not spring for the deluxe pedis either but still the quality was just sad. They wanted to use the razor on our feet and when we asked if they could please just scrub instead they promptly rubbed what I think was callus remover on our feet and sort of just rubbed a pumice stone across our heels for all of about thirty seconds and then moved on. I don't like having the razor used on me because I have been cut with it several times at different places so now I just say no! And I don't feel like I should get a half assed scrub just because I won't let someone cut my calluses off, it's not like my feet need a sanding belt taken to them. My boyfriend also remarked after we got home and had a moment to inspect our feet that his girl could have scrubbed some more as well. Anyway, the massage could have been awesome but the girls seriously just moved their hands over our feet and legs for all of about a two minutes total applying virtually no pressure what so ever. Once again, I'm asking for a 5 star, hour long, foot rub but honestly she may as well have just skipped it because I apply more pressure rubbing lotion on my own feet! And then comes the hot stones we read so much about, so I am thinking "oh okay she is going to do the massage with that and before she WAS just putting on the lotion." Nope, they just quickly ran the stones down the front of our shins, swiped around the sides of our feet and that was it. I can say they did do a good job cleaning up and shaping our toenails and I do really like the polish color I picked! Clearly we will not be returning and that saddens me because this place is so close to where we live, is reasonably priced, and the staff was friendly enough; but I will NOT waste my money here again. read more

I have witnessed very rude customers that personally I would have asked them to leave but these ladies continued to be professional. My motto is "you get what you pay for". I was going here for acrylic sets about 3 times and although my nails came out not exactly perfect, they were decent. The last time I went, I was very disappointed by the service and will never return again. I had made an appointment earlier in the day and when I arrived (before my appointment) I was told it would be 10 minutes later, in actuality I was made to wait an additional 35 minutes. The manicurist did not introduce herself, just waved me back and worked half on me, half on her previous customer at the same time. She was distracted by the front door a couple of times and left us both hanging with partially processed nails mid-air... She barked out orders at me or just twisted my hands so I would move them in the direction she wanted. All she had to do was ask me and I would have moved them. . She spoke loudly in her native language to the other workers for the remainder of the appointment and demanded I pay right after my new nails were on- they hadn't even set. I paid and even tipped, hoping for better treatment now that she had seen that I was a potential paying customer. I didn't see it until it was too late, but she set 2 of my acrylic nails on crooked, my left ring finger is slanted towards my pinky (positioned incorrectly), and my right pinky is slanted towards my invisible 6th finger..(?) Continuing with the nail polish, she did not want to do 3rd coat although clearly one was needed. (it was a light pink color and didn't cover that well) She did the 3rd coat in a temper and then left me to dry by a fan. When I was done I got up and walked out without saying a word. I've been going to Sunset Nails since the current owner purchased it in 2008. Everyone that works in there is extremely friendly. They just got brand new pedicure chairs and they are amazing. Would give -10 stars if possible. Have gone here 2 or 3 times for pedicure in the last year, each time getting poorer service than before. Polish is always messy and they are supposed to put hot stones on your calves for "spa" treatment. These ladies bang it against your legs, causing bruises. Disappointed before I even got a manicure... showed up at 9:34 when my appointment was scheduled for 9:30 and as I was walking up the woman in front of me unlocked the door to open the nail salon for the morning. So when I walked in there was obviously no one there but the receptionist... Very confused, I told her I had an appointment at 9:30 (all the while wondering why they would open late when they knew they had appointments booked?) She told me yes I was on the books and my nail tech I scheduled with was on her way. NOT acceptable to be late as a service provider when you have clients waiting. Should have stuck to being a walk-in and probably would have gotten better service. A salon of any kind should never open at the exact same time they book an appointment. I didn't have super high expectations because I know it's just a get-in-and-get-out type of nail salon, but still. Very unprofessional. read more
