A worker came to the counter and didn't greet me in the usual UPS style I'm used to. She said basically nothing. It seemed that she was irritated at having to leave her other work to help me, a 70+ year old man. The young woman is black with first name starting with (I think) "K". The first 3 packages were pre-labeled. She scanned them and then TOSSED THEM ON THE GROUND behind her with total disregard for what might be in the boxes. My wife said they were expensive shoes being returned. Then she scanned the next item from my phone, picked up a plastic bag, curled the open bag and tied it in a knot, bending the item's packaging before putting the return label on the wrapped plastic. The fifth item was scanned from my phone and by that time I was so angry at all of this I didn't pay attention to what she did to it. It was then I thought that perhaps she was being passive aggressive to me in that I didn't use the self-service machine. With the 5 return items, I didn't want to deal with the self-serve machine. There was no smile from her, no asking if I wanted a receipt, and no thanking me for coming in today. She just had an irritated scowl most of the time. Later I thought I should have called her on tossing the boxes on the floor, but that might not have helped. Perhaps she was having a bad day, or really doesn't like the job, or really took a quick dislike to me and acted unprofessionally. UPS had better deal with this worker quick before she sullies the reputation of this usually fine store.

ADM was one of the companies that we reached out to for quotes, and I was (as silly as this might sound) impressed with the quality of their .pdfs and the professionalism of their emails and voice chats. I know that sounds stupid but I'm a sucker for well-drafted forms. Their rates were reasonable, so we scheduled the move. On the day of the move, three gentlemen rolled up and got right to work. They were really extremely pleasant, and they hustled nonstop in the humid July monsoon hell. Everything arrived in perfect condition, and it took longer than we anticipated but it turns out that we just had a lot more stuff than we'd thought. Their rates at the end were absolutely reasonable, and all-in-all we had a great experience. Keep the boss happy!

Movers didn't shrink wrap the mattress, didn't unscrew nightstand legs which are now broken, and the tv stand is damaged because movers asked to add items inside even though I had it empty. Their way of helping was refunding $150 to get a temporary mattress from Walmart and told me the claims department would be in touch in 3-5 business days. In the end they only compensated me $900 despite the thousands of dollars of damage. In addition to the damage, one of the movers the company set up for the CT delivery made inappropriate sexual comments to me while I was alone (I'm a young female). Do not use them!
