I hope this reaches the higher-up's of the company because I'm so frustrated at the lack of reliability and poor service that is being provided. Our panels have been off since July 26, 2022. By the time I realized it was on August 22nd. At no time did Sunrun contact me about my system being off and not producing. Of course it was the hottest time of the year and here we are with panels that aren't producing. So when I called customer service I had to wait 3wks. For them to send 2 techs who only dealt with communication issues when I specifically told customer service that it had to do with the circuit breaker and that it kept turning back off when the breaker was turned on. Therefore, Amy the case manager was supposed to contact me to let me know when they were going to send the next tech back to fix the problem. However no one ever called. Amy had made a follow up apt. For today 9/12/22 and she didn't keep her appointment either. When I called today to see what is going on Amy told me that I had to make another appointment for October 13, 2022 and of course I'm just about to blow a gasket. I asked to speak to a supervisor but of course she wasn't available. I will be emailing her shortly as well to put in a formal complaint. What in the hell is going on here? I wonder how many other customers are they doing this too. This is ridiculous! read more

Have had solar panels leased from SunRun for several years. Six months ago a representative came out saying that our panels were not producing up to capacity. He sent someone else out to evaluate who said they needed to be replaced. At this point, they turned the solar system off. Since we were leasing them, SunRun would take care of this. Then another person came out to get the serial numbers to see if they were under manufacturer's warranty. Then someone else came out and said it wasn't the panels, it was the wiring. They came out and installed new wiring. No change, still only at 30% efficiency. They said they would need to replace the panels. That was in May. It is now August. I have called them several times. If I was lucky enough to reach someone, they kept saying they needed to order the panels or, now, it was in the hands of the design team. If I got voice mail, they do not call back. I have talked to customer service reps, installation manager, and three "supervisors". The last I heard, they would be installed in early August. This company doesn't even deserve one star. read more

WARNING - This company has no regard for public safety. Today a driver sped down my residential street at an exceptionally dangerous rate. It is a continuously used street by walkers, joggers, bikers and kids on bikes and skateboards. I called the company but they refused to talk to me because I wasn't a customer. Alternative was to give them my personal info. I have never dealt with a company who wasn't concerned about their employees dangerous actions. This is the worst company for customer service...we bought a home a year ago and their solar came with the house. Since then we have been trying to get someone out to our home to take a look at the solar panels and our roof. After the rains we found out we had some leaks from we're the solar system was installed damaging my ceiling. We got tired of calling and emailing this company Sometimes they didn't even answer and most of the time we get a run around and nothing ever comes of it. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I have a sunrun solar system with battery. A year after installation the service technician said my solar panel were installed incorrectly and weren't producing sufficient energy. He claimed to have solved the problem. Needless to say I was never compensated electricity that I paid for during that time. Another problem is the LG battery failed on August of last year and has not been fixed or replaced. I have called numerous and have been told the battery will be replaced "soon". It's been over six months with zero action. They claim to monitor the system so obviously they are aware of it's shortcomings. I contacted them numerous times and they have never called me back or let me talk to someone who can fix the problem. read more

So Sunrun is supposed to be a great Solar company but you are not even going to back your installation when my mother has had multiple roofers and handyman state it was your installation that is causing a leak... now you can't answer an email. Then you are telling my mother that you will take off the panels for a fee... even though my mother will be willing to pay the roofer when your installation caused the damage... then you have a clause that states she has to use your organization to move the panels for this repair... why do you feel like you can take advantage of people? Do you not back your installers and product? This is horrible what you are doing, in a retirement community with people on set incomes. read more

I'm so disappointed I can't even put it into words. We had Sunrun put up solar on our last house with no issues. Here, we got the panels installed September 17, they forgot to submit for final inspection for an entire month, fast forward until today, SCE has approved my panels to be on finally, and they STILL aren't on. I notified my project manager in 11/17 that the equipment was beeping, and he didn't even schedule a technician to come check it until this past Friday, and I'm sure that's why they're still not on. I can't get an appointment to have the person to come out until 12/18 even though they've known about it 3 weeks. On top of it all, I've been paying my full electric bill along with my loan payment, and since SCE approved use, they sent me a bill I'm assuming closing out regular electric and switching over, due on Xmas Eve. So I have a total of 966 worth of electric bills due this month, our first Xmas in our new home, our daughters first Xmas, and we have to decide if our kids get Xmas presents or if we keep our power on. At this point the anger is gone and I am just so absolutely sad that we are in this situation. I wish I never used this company. The knife twist is my neighbors on both sides got their solar installed a month after me and have been up and running for weeks and ours still aren't on. 6 years ago we signed with SolarCity for a solar installation at our home. We cancelled that installation as SunRun promised us that they would more than cover our electric needs and that they would soon have a Tesla battery backup available for our system. We had solar panels installed on EVERY quadrant of our roof!! It's now OVER 6 YEARS LATER and we pay over $1,500 yearly in trueup bills in addition to our SunRun monthly bill. SunRun has Telsa batteries but THEY WON'T WORK ON OUR "OLD" SYSTEM!!!!! SunRun refuses to retrofit our system to work with a batter or replace our system to one that is compatible with their battery AND they will not remove our system saying they are within their contracted agreement. EVERY TIME we ask for something in writing regarding all of the continued batter promices initially and over the six years, they won't put it in writing. With our current system, if we go into higher tiers with the electric company, as we can't store our own generated electricity, they charge us alot but if our solar system doesn't generate their contracted amount, SunRun pays us pennies on the dollar which is why we need the battery backup that WE WERE PROMISED! Not to mention the hours and hours that we've wasted on hold on the phone and countless e-mails trying to resolve this problem just to get what they promised us. SunRun is A bunch of crooks and liars. If I could rate this company a zero I would. We bought a new home that had paid for solar panels on it still under warranty from Sunrun. It took us 2 weeks to get an appointment for someone to come out to get it up and running. Took the day off work to wait for the person to show up in the noon to 6PM window. At about 3:30 PM we tried to call the company to confirm as we were getting skeptical about the person showing up. After waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes on hold, we were assured we were on the schedule for today. No surprise, no one ever showed up. We called the company again, only to be put on hold. When we talked to a customer service girl, she said they were "swamped because of Covid" (not sure of the connection and why that would affect my appointment time). I've had Sunrun now for almost a year and they can't get their billing set up for the life of them. They charge you a fee to make a payment unless you sign up for auto pay. Well I've signed up THREE TIMES NOW! And they still send me collection notices every month when my bill is overdue because their stupid website doesn't take out the payment! What a company all the want is your money. Custom service is not in there business plan. We were in escrow and taking over the lease on our new home. They would not comply they had employee that would not call our escrow agent back. They tried for days almost lost our house. Now they email us a bill on the 4th day of the month witch is due on the first of the month. On the 5th day they start call your home asking were is our payment. It seems no one know what the other department doing. Most companies email a few days days before a payment is due. When you email them they don't want to deal with any issues you have. I started my process through Costco, my awesome sales rep was Mazen! He came out to our house for the initial meeting and then came back out for the purchase meeting. In between Mazen was always available for any questions my husband and I had. He was there if I needed him though the solar installation process as well. My solar was just turned on at the end of last month, but when it was done Mazen took the time to contact me and congratulate me. He continues to offer his help even after the solar installation is complete. He is great and I highly recommend Mazen and going through the Costco Sunrun program for solar!! read more
