Very satisfied with our breakfast: Greek omelette and French toast. The omelette wasn't exceptional but it was packed with feta. Didn't have coffee, just water. Very much a local spot where the staff knew many of the patrons. FYI- they have a drive through window. read more

We eat here all the time. No frills, down-home cooking where you get a lot for cheap. Great breakfast there and their Chicken Filet sandwich is awesome. They also have fantastic vegetable soup, but avoid the chicken and rice they serve on Tuesdays. Ask for Brandi, Mary or Star if you want EXCELLENT service. read more

Very good Sunday morning breakfast served in a clean establishment with modern decor. Eggs over easy were perfect. Tenderloin was pan fried, tender, and tasty. Sausage was flavorful, and the grits were great. Coffee and home fries were about average. And now we come to yet another biscuit story, but this one actually has a happy ending, but not the massage parlor kind. The first biscuits the server brought out were probably the most burnt, hard biscuits I've ever been served. I asked her if there were any that were not quite as well done and she brought out a fresh batch. They were actually VERY good. For the first time in a long time I actually wanted to eat my biscuit. This leads me to wonder if the problem has been at the other restaurants I've reviewed is that the biscuits were not fresh. Service was fine and price was very reasonable. The food is great, however, the VALUE is what stinks. I ordered a gyro (very good) - the SMALLEST portion gyro I have ever seen, including NYC, LA, and Miami. No excuse for such small portions, other than greed. I won't be returning. read more

Should not expect much from a restaurant with a 90.5 health rating, but went in for breakfast and ordered eggs over medium. I received eggs that were over ultra easy with white uncooked. I sent them back. The sausage links were rancid, could not eat them. I have eaten here on occasion and have had problems with raw eggs. read more

Popular with the locals, typical diner fare, not bad but pretty heavy on the grease and salt. My wife's order came with potato salad, but when the plate came out, there was a big empty place where it was supposed to be. When she asked the waitress about it, she was told that that item didn't come with potato salad, but she could get a side order of it. We double-checked the menu on the way out to confirm that we were right, and the cashier, who obviously heard our discussion, made no offer to make amends. Not a place I would recommend or revisit, choices are limited in Thomasville but you can easily do better than Sunrise. read more

Avoid this place!!!This place is an absolute joke. I stopped here traveling through thinking I was going to get a dinner breakfast experience. Unfortunately the place is not well managed. It's seat yourself, so I sat myself and waited for 20 minutes before leaving. Not once did the 4 waitresses (gossiping about how one of the doors to her home was kicked down ) even say good morning to me or acknowledge that I had came in, let alone offer me coffee or a menu. Sad really, the owner apparently has no idea what's going on there. It's not really worth the one star, but it's the lowest you can give in a review. read more

So mom says, "Let's just go get something to eat at Sunrise Diner". I say "sure, that's fine". So we go and eat. The food is ok, But the service from the waitress was AWFUL! She came over to bring my son his only refill on his drink when we were finished eating! My asked asked for "a box to go please". The waitress said "you want a box?" My son and I said "Yes". The waitress said "ok" and left. She then walked over to the manager and started a conversation with him. We waited for 10 minutes for the box, asked another waitress for the box and then our waitress acted like she was going to get it, but then started talking again. I got up to pay the check and made the statement "Well I guess he doesn't get a box, because the waitress is too busy talking". Then she got him a box, with an attitude! The cashier asked how was everything and did I want to leave a tip on the card. I said "no, absolutely not". My response was, "the food was fine, but the service was terrible", she asked why so I told her. The waitress promptly came over and started to smart off to me. The manager is looking confused and asked what I was upset about. I stated "that my son asked for a box and the waitress was to busy talking to earn any kind of a tip." The waitress came back over to me and and told the cashier "what happened was that he asked for a box and when I went to get it, the manager stopped me to talk to me and I forgot. What was I supposed to do not listen to my manager?" I said "you should have told the manager: just a minute, I need to get something for a customer" However, what she didn't realize is that the entire time she was having a conversation with the manager, we were watching her. For 5 minutes straight she, the manager and 2 others were leaning against the counter not talking! I looked straight at her and she still did nothing. I said "hey, it's not my tip" the waitress said "I don't need your tip, I' have enough to cover me for the week". When we were walking out, 2 customers were walking in and I told mom that I wouldn't be back for a long while because while the food was ok, the waitress was atrocious! I thought the customer was always right, but apparently at Sunrise Diner in Thomasville NC, the waitress is exempt from that! I hope I can find some place to leave feedback about this. No wonder they weren't that busy! read more

moved to thomasville about two years ago. got drive thru breakfast there 3 times. this place is horrible. biscuits are not good. hashbrowns taste like cigarettes. last time i was there i drove across the street and threw my food away in the burger king trash can and went in and ordered breakfast again. the parking lot is always full though. serious wtf is wrong with the people in this town read more
