    Country Ham, Eggs, Home Fries
    Jessica F.

We were craving breakfast food this morning and thought we would give this place a try. I have a mixed review about it, and while I didn't hate it, I'm not sure that I would go out of my way to have it again. When we walked in we were handed menus and told to sit wherever we wanted. I've never had that happen before but I wasn't mad about it. The restaurant was pretty clean and there are a LOT of tables. They even have a private room if you have a really large party. We were greeted pretty quickly and drinks and food came out lightening fast. The one thing I can say that was 100% positive is that their service is FAST! I ordered 2 Eggs over medium with Country Ham, Home Fries, and a biscuit. I also ordered a waffle because I wanted to try them! The waffle was AWESOME! Light and fluffy, and perfectly cooked. My daughter agreed. My eggs were perfect and very good and the country ham was AMAZING. The home fries... this is where they lost me. The home fries are HUGE, and that means they are a lot like the end piece fries at Chick Fil A that everyone throws away. I like small home fries, and they just didn't even come close to doing it for me. The biscuits, this is pure speculation but they tasted and looked like canned biscuits. I'm not accusing them of not making biscuits, I'm just saying I would never go there for biscuits! My mom had coffee and said it was mediocre coffee at best, and wanted to make sure that was in the review! last, I think the prices were high for what we got. Prices are high everywhere but breakfast out shouldn't cost $40 for 2 people!

This is definitley one of my favorites in Thomasville! The Baked Spagetti has been one of my absolute favorites for most of my life! The pasta is always cooked great and most importantly they don't hold back on the amount of cheese on top! The sauce is always just the right amount too. I have been wowing people with my ability to finish the entire plate (which is quite large) by myself in one sitting. My family also loves their seafood dishes as well! Their food bar has great Baked Chicken, Rice and Fried Okra.

Filled with locals on a weekday including what might have been a Bible study, I had an excellent breakfast here. Free wifi and I even managed to get some work done. A really super omelet - green peppers, mushrooms and cheddar cheese - with real potatoes on the side and whole wheat toast where she remembered not to add butter to it. Perfect. Lots of coffee and now I'm AWAKE and ready to finish my drive to RDU. Well done, Sunrise!

Oven baked spaghetti, enough for three people!Loaded with mozzarella.

We saw this restaurant on Yelp and after sitting on the interstate for an hour we were so happy that it was close to the exit. My husband had the 1/3 pound burger and I had the baked spaghetti. Tasty! The prices are very reasonable.

Wow! Now THAT'S what I call a good ol' fashioned home cooked southern dinner! I'm a picky eater, and everything was my kind of perfect. Not fancy, just simple yummy! All the food you see was for 2 people and only $16 before tax and tip. Next time we can get one meal and still have left overs. HUGE portions! My husband had fish, shrimp, fries and a salad. He said the breading was delicious. I had chicken tenders, shrimp, baked potato & a salad.

6 STARS and 1 word...WOW!…read more What I first walked into Max's I realized that I'd walked into a neat, little local place. The ambience is, well, basic. But that's where basic ends. I ordered a fried flounder plate at $12.99. That's right, $12.99. It came with a LOT of flounder. Combined with the sides, it was a belly full. Also in the menus was an 8 oz ribeye for...brace yourself...$16.99!!!! Now let me talk about the service. Demarcus, our server was incredibly attentive to our needs. So much so that we left her a +50% tip. If I lived nearby they would know me by name. Heck, they might even put my name on the wall for being so regular. If you don't eat here when you're in town, I'm sorry, but I just cannot think highly of you. /joke/ So, overall, they get 6 stars out of 5.

For those of you that love breakfast food... it's available all day! Everyone at the table loved their meals, and the service Jasmine provided truly stood out. She was attentive, kind, and made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is casual and family friendly, with TVs playing kid appropriate channels, which made it a great spot for all of us to relax and enjoy our time together.

As before, I give this a resounding 5 stars. The menu has changed a little bit since I last wrote a review, and I've tried some new items. I have yet to try anything that I didn't like. My new go-tos are the raging chicken salad on a croissant and the berries and cream pastries. If you read my previous review, you will see that I was working up the nerve to try the chicken salad, because I'm somewhat meat-averse at times, and also don't like heavily mayonnaised foods, which is a big risk with any of the so-called "salad" items (potato, chicken, tuna, etc.) in life. I can now confirm that the chicken salad is 1) not overly mayonnaised and 2) made from not-gross chicken (I have no further explanation for this, but picky eaters will know what I mean). It's relatively light, has a nice texture, and is flavorful. It is one of my favorite weekend lunch items (or weekday, if I'm working remotely and in the area) now, not just here but in general. The berries and cream pastry is delicious and I would eat everyday, or even multiple times a day, if my figure and my wallet could afford it. Sweet, rich, flaky. Definitely one of my favorite dessert / sweet snack items currently. I also got a birthday cake made here and it was absolutely gorgeous (and delicious, obviously). Very well executed and totally got my vision. As I said before, there is plenty of seating inside (outside too!) and the volume level is perfect -- lots of people coming through, but quiet enough I can read, study, or do work. We spend several hours at a time in here some weekends. Highly recommend to anyone in the area or passing through.

The ladies who work here are very friendly and helpful, came around a few times to check on me, offered fried side to go with the greens , offered a refill on my sweet tea. Great service! About the food. Probably the BEST FRIED CHICKEN in the area. I really can't judge on that because I haven't sampled other fried chicken in the vicinity but based on my own research of sampling fried chicken all over North Carolina, I feel confident in my assumption. It was fried just right. It was SEASONED. It had a very nice batter that was crunchy and the chicken in the inside was tender and juicy. Every bite was tender and juicy. These ladies should teach a cooking class on how to make fried chicken-to other restaurants. The SWEET POTATOES were perfectly cooked and flavored in butter and cinnamon. You could eat it as a dessert. But not overly sweet. Just right. The GREENS were tender and seasoned perfectly. Greens and fried side with their delicious CORNBREAD could be a meal in itself. The SWEET TEA-perfect! All around, best home cooked food/soul food you can get. I will be back and I highly recommend for true SOUTHERN COMFORT food.
