I love Wallburg Diner and all the people. We mostly enjoy their breakfast and lunch options. Last night we wanted to take a small ride and enjoy a small takeout for dinner. Behold the chicken tenders, sweet potato fried, and grilled chicken sandwich. We shared the fries. Approved. The grilled chicken sandwich is the best served in the area. Large, flavorful, juicy. After all these years, I can't believe we haven't stopped by at dinner time. There is a reason the parking lot is full after 5pm. May have to try other goodies soon! read more

Great local restaurant! Service was great! Had the cowboy burger and that was great!

Always looking for a good diner. I went for lunch and soon after for breakfast. Lunch was good. I got a veggie plate w fried green tomatoes, broccoli salad and a corn muffin. It was a good lunch. Breakfast not so much. It's locally popular so it's a nice place to go w friends and support a local business. It's not a franchise which added that extra star for me. read more

Good down home food, service prompt, good atmosphere. They cater to the masses and don't disappoint

I enjoyed my egg salad sandwich and fries. Only down side was that the fries were not hot and honestly we waited too long not to have hot fries. My friend did not like her fish. She said they seemed like fish sticks lol. But she enjoyed the chicken livers. I also ordered a coffee which was pretty good for diner coffee. They also have diet Dr Pepper! Score! read more

Wow!!! I can't believe how many times I've driven by this little place and only just today actually tried it. Had I known I would have definitely stopped sooner. Its right next to the post office and had I not seen someone else enter before me, I would have been confused on where to find it. It's just a single glass door on the side of the building. No open sign, name of restaurant or hours posted on it. First of all, the service was amazing. So friendly and sweet! Both ladies that waited on us were awesome. secondly, the menu has all sorts of delicious options that anyone can find something they like. It's super casual inside. They have the country diner vibe down. Tables and chairs in the center and some booths around the perimeter. They have regular menus but definitely check out the specials board next to and the host/cashier station and huge wall size chalkboard on the back wall. That chalkboard is where the cool kids order from. HA! Just kidding! As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing on any menu that is not delicious. I'm now on a quest to take note of all the little out of the way places I come across. Who knows what kind of gems I've been missing all these years! read more

Would've given it zero stars if I had the option. An absolute hole-in-the-wall location with stale tasting fries, fried chicken batter mushy, and a general dirty feeling to the place. We won't bother to come back. read more

Really, they have the best Chicken Sandwiches I've ever tried. Chick fil a has nothing on them. Also had yhr fried chicken livers. I wish they had a little more seasoning, but I did love the livers. Get the Sweet Potato Fries with their honey and cinnamon dipping sauce. There is nothing better. read more

Keep driving! I live in this town and happened to be at the Post Office next door so decided to get an early dinner. For context - i was the ONLY customer in the restaurant (probably because it was early). Waitress takes my order - delivers it - never checks on me again. I was out of drink - she just sat in another booth and never even looked my way or checked on - she just gabbed with the other THREE employees. I get it - i could have gotten up and brought her my cup for a refill - not sure that's my job. Food was average - i got the hamburger steak...a bit dry. Portions are small and uneventful - my sides were mashed potato's and broccoli salad. Everything was served on styrofoam and plastic utensils $19 later and - Anyhow - i won't be back. If you're in the area do your self a favor - Keep driving another few miles - definitely not worth stopping. i saw the other reviews so perhaps ownership has changed because all the reviews are 2+ years old. read more

After a morning playing at Union Cross Park, Wallburg Diner hit the spot!. This was our first visit here and it won't be our last. Located on 109 beside the post office in Wallburg is this sweet diner that makes you feel like family. We sat where there was a free table and we're immediately greeted by a waitress that took our drink order. At first glance their menu is generic, but they have about 10 - 15 specials that aren't in the menu. These are written in chalk marker on the walls. Ranging from Cajun shrimp poboys to Italian grilled chicken sandwich with pesto. The later was my choice. It came with one side and I couldn't say no to the sweet potato fries with cinnamon honey. For $8.95 you can NOT beat that. My sister ordered the BBQ chicken quesadilla and loved it! The food came out quickly, everything was delicious, the prices are glorious and it's super family friendly! If it wasn't for being 45 minutes away, I would be here weekly! read more

I have never heard of this place until recently and it's in a small town about 15 minutes outside of the city of Winston-Salem where I live. After hearing good reviews from people on Instagram, I drove down and was seated pretty immediately. The waitress immediately brought my water and allowed me a minute to look over the menu. When I ordered it was less than 10 minutes before my food arrived. Hot, and really really good. The place was really welcoming, with all the specials on the sign in the dining room. The food was really affordable read more

It wouldn't shock me one bit to one day walk in to find Guy Fieri with his camera crew here. I'm not saying if this place matches the "dive" description, but it definitely is punching well above its weight. Much of the menu and all of the days specials are posted along the wall, and don't miss the separate listing of the daily desert offering. Ask your server what they recommend, because they have their finger on the pulse of the best and most popular daily dishes. My bride and my sister are most frequently drawn to the pork ribs, but I order all around the menu and have been pleased with everything I've ordered. For some reason, I tend to forget that they offer hoecakes, which if you are uninitiated is something of a cross between a pancake and a biscuit. Trust me, you'll like it. The servers are helpful and courteous, and are working their tails off because the place is always hopping. We've never had to wait more than a few minutes to get a table, but a short weight is to be expected at dinner time. I keep promising myself that I'll make it back for breakfast, one of these days, but have yet to experience it. I'll make sure to report back. read more

I really enjoyed Wallburg Diner. It is a small diner in the town of Wallburg. It has an old diner type of atmosphere. The restaurant was clean and the wait staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. It was obvious just about everyone was a local. The spaghetti and my salad tasted very good (it was what I expected from a good diner). I look forward to returning and trying other menu options. read more

This is our family's go-to. It's a diner at its best--a hole-in-the-wall that is warm and inviting, mostly due to its fabulous staff. The food is SO good. Try the fried chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and American cheese and just try to tell me it's not the best chicken sandwich you've ever had. Their veggies are like your grandma makes them (but maybe better), and their daily specials are always a win (my personal fave is the stew beef and rice on Fridays). read more

Excellent and friendly service. If you are in town I would definitely suggest coming here for breakfast and to support local small business. The food was great and homemade, not greasy. I got the veggie omelette the coffee is also fresh and good quality. I am pretty picky about food as my mom is a chef and I am from NY. GREAT JOB HERE! read more

Great people. Great service. Love their Brunswick Stew in season. Ribs are to die for

Great food at a fair price! Very friendly staff! Daily specials or ordering from the menu, it's all good. I enjoy eating there

From what I am told there's a new owner at this joint. Now, I'm not sure which reviews fall under which owner but I tell you what, I like this diner. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. I do wish it was a little bigger because this place gets some business during lunch. The fried chicken is like what grandma used to cook. They have daily specials and there regular menu items aren't pricey at all. Today I had the Chicken Cordon Blue Sandwich with hot chips. The chips were made to perfection and I got the chicken grilled. It too was fantastic, not dry at all. The honey mustard tasted homemade with a sweet flavor. My only issue with it is a true cordon Blue is stuffed chicken which this was not but was still delicious and I highly recommend it. This place might just become a new lunch favorite and if you've never eaten here, there's no better time than now. read more

This was our first visit since the ownership changed, and the food was nowhere near as good as it was on our previous visits. The Country Fried Steak was a frozen product with little flavor and no tenderness. The white gravy was very watery, and also lacked any depth of flavor. The devil eggs were bland, the white section tough, rubbery, and the Macaroni Salad was very, very sweet. The Pulled Pork was tender, with some decent flavor on its own, but the sauce that was added in the kitchen was not one I cared for. The Salad was big, but not at all fresh tasting, and there were brown spots on the lettuce. The slaw and hush puppies were ok, but nothing special. Service was decent, though time out of the kitchen for 2 Daily Specials was slow. All in all, a most disappointing experience, and one that will not be repeated. read more

The food here is very good, just for the prices I wish they gave you more. We have stopped eating here bc with how much it is to feed our whole family and still leave not full isn't worth it to us. But nothing wrong with the staff, cleanliness, or food! read more

Always amazing food!! Great selection from veggies to meats, good quality and great customer service!

I'm so glad we gave this a try. We tried the fried pickles which came out obviously fresh and hot, they were delicious. Fiancé tried the ribeye with green beans and fries, I had the club and fries. Everything was amazing! read more

Love this classic small town diner. The place just feels homey, warm and the air is filled with the smell of food. Over the years, we've had many meals at this quaint spot - mostly breakfasts and lunches. No matter what you order, the service is prompt and the food is good. The staff is warm, friendly and attentive. When we have a client meeting over lunch, they try to not bother us while we're discussing business. A considerate team and good diner food is a winning combination for this restaurant. read more

I am sad to write this review. I had the worst BLT of my life, the bread was as hard as a rock, wilted lettuce and bland tomato. My fried pickles were definitely out of the freezer and my husband had the fish tacos, that were way over cooked and the "great value" salsa... The only positive thing I can say is that the tea tasted great and the ranch was homemade! The place was cleanish, the waitress decent. It was $18 for two, which was a lot for what we got. read more

I love this place! Staff is warm and friendly. Takes you back to a friendly neighborhood hangout! Food is awesome!!!

Always a satisfying meal, and service with a smile. Whether I order a chicken or beef dish sourced from a local farm, or one of their delicious homemade desserts, I never leave disappointed. My husband and I stopped in this Friday night and I was surprisingly impressed with this little diner. For starters we tried one of the homemade biscuits. Absolutely delicious! As good as my grandmothers! I ordered a cheeseburger with pimiento cheese & their homemade chips. The cheeseburger was fairly average but the homemade chips were delicious! Very impressive! Their ranch dressing was homemade and amazing as well. My husband ordered the steak and cheese sandwich and tater tots. The steak and cheese sandwich was good but it lacked flavor. The tater tots were delicious also. Prices are great and if you're looking for a cheap meal in a diner environment then this is a good place to check out! I also grabbed a homemade chocolate chip cookie on the way out and it was delicious as well! read more

Josh and his crew here make some amazing food. Always the best flavors in wallburg! Highly recommend to anyone around.

I normally love the food and service here but today I left very disappointed. We ate inside and ordered two cowboy burgers and pulled pork sandwich. The burgers were burnt and crispy to where we couldn't eat it. The pulled pork was very dry. The chips we had were over cooked and had strong flavor of grease. I am not one to complain at all but I did mention it to our waitress. Thought she was putting in another order for the food we couldn't eat but instead she brought us a cookie and said "cookie makes everything better" The meal cost me $27 for four bites all together out of the entire meal. read more

This is my all time favorite restaurant and thankfully, it's right down the road from my work. We've traveled to Vegas, New York, and Miami and this food is on par with some of the nicest places I've been. The owner is a legit chef and comes up with the most flavorful dishes, and they are always fresh and hot! The staff is friendly and courteous. We've never had a bad experience there.
