I stopped in to see if I couldn't get a chili burger at 8 in the morning. They definitely offer the entire menu 24/7. Was late running errands today when dinnertime rolled up on me and I was in the mood for breakfast so, Carolina Diner popped up in my mind. But since I wasn't in the mood to drive I decided to go to the Quaker Village location. Oh how I wished I had driven out the Regional Rd location. Since it was shortly after 7:00 pm, I had my choice of several tables. I took my seat and waited for several minutes before a serve brought me a menu and flatware and told me that she thought another server would be taking my order. But she asked what I wanted to drink and got it for me. Since I knew what I was going to order I just sat and waited for the other server to come and take my order. I don't know where he was but the place was not very busy. He finally came after about 5 minutes and took my order. Because they were not busy it was quiet and it appeared that they kept everything cleaned up. The food was good and was delivered while it was still hot. I had also given my server my name for the frequent diner card and he wrote it down. However, when he gave a couple sitting in the next booth to me their bill it had my frequent diner info on there bill instead of there's. It took the manager to correct it. Then when my bill came it didn't have my frequent diner info on it so the server had to go back and correct things. I am assuming that this server is new and needs to be trained better with supervision. But I learned my lesson and will make the additional six mile trip to go to the Regional Rd location in the future. read more

We came here a little before noon on a Sunday. The restaurant is located within a small shopping area, it was easy to find and parking was ample. When we arrived there was a steady stream of people entering through the door. We were able to walk in and join a few other customers who were waiting to be seated. The lobby area is pretty small and doesn't allow for many people but you could wait outside if needed as well. The young man at the register was keeping a wait list but we noticed there was counter seating available and asked if we could sit there and he replied yes. There were a total of eight chairs at the counter, approximately seven booths along the wall and one table near the front. We were provided menus and our drink orders were taken. We began to look over the menu and thought they had a great selection of both breakfast and lunch items. We both decided to order one of their smashburgers, I chose the chili cheese (6 oz. hand pattied smashburger topped with beanless chili, cheddar cheese and onion). My wife chose the super smash burger minus the bun (two 6 oz. hand pattied smashburgers served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and your choice of cheese). I chose the tots and my wife chose the sweet potato fries to accompany our burgers. Our food arrived pretty quick and looked delicious! Of course, my camera ate first but we quickly dug into our burgers and were impressed. My wife commented her burger and sweet potato fries exceeded her expectations and mine was equally yummy. Our server was friendly and helpful and we thought the prices were very reasonable. I like that you can essentially choose whatever you want for a platter/sandwich - as far as down to the specific protein and bread you want your food on. Food comes out quick, Will I say it's the best? No...but it's better than what you would expect at a diner. Bacon and sausage are of good quality and not the cheap kind...even though the food is pretty cheap overall. Bologna sandwich was ok. Has all the essential condiments including Texas Pete. If you are looking for a local favorite with a greasy spoon feel, this is the place. Between the three of us, we got a Belgian waffle with bananas, corned beef hash with eggs, and the Greek omelet. The food was delicious, not too much and not too little. Although they must have used two bananas on top of the waffle, I love bananas, so it worked for me. I'm kicking myself because I didn't go there 3 years ago when I moved to Greensboro. Now, this will be THE place I go to whenever I want breakfast for a meal (day or night). I was welcomed right away and watched as one of the waitress called each guest by name as they walked in. Fantastic. I LOVED my country fried steak, hashbrowns (they added some diced onions per my request and they were TOP LEVEL DELICIOUS! Dropped off the kiddos at school and went to look for a place to fill up to start our morning. Decided to try this diner since it was open. Walking in gave me a homey-feel. The kind of place you might have hit up because it's familiar, consistent, and staffed with friendly folks. I know our waitress was! She was so curious about the giant cast on my leg and the knee scooter I was trying to weave through the small aisle with. Very accommodating and didn't make me feel like a burden! I wanted a chicken salad but they didn't have any that day. I opted for the tuna salad instead and it tasted great! Just a solid, very simple, tuna salad which I appreciated that day. Please tell your staff to NOT mop bathroom floors when customers are in diner. BOTH bathrooms were mopped Wed night at the same time, dinner time ; both were VERY WET. The worst part is there were no yellow caution signs about wet floors. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. At the very least, only wash one bathroom floor at a time and put a sign that it's closed until floor is dry. Leave the light and fan on and open the floor can dry. We both ordered vege plates tonight to take out. Mine had Pinto beans fried squash and rice and gravy and banana pudding for desert. My pinto beans did not even fill one of the little sections so I only had maybe 4-5 spoonfulls. The fried squash had exactly 8 pieces of squash. They overcharge and under serve. My wifes pintos were skimpy just like mine were. She was satisfied with the fried ocra. We ordered the large banana pudding because the one that come with the meal is just very small. The larger one is adequate but they charge you for another banana pudding to get the large. The food quality and taste is good but they just skimp way too much on the quantity. It is not always this way as sometimes they give you your monies worth but here recently it has been wholly inadequate to the point of my looking for another place to order our vege plates. If they shortchange us one more time that is what I will do. read more

We were wanting breakfast food and decided to come here. We came at a good time. We arrived around 8:30am and they weren't busy at all but we were the first ones to have to wait for a table. Once we signed in, several other people came in after us. The waiting area is non existent. Since it was cold outside, people were waiting over people's tables while they were eating. We were lucky to get a booth. The server was nice and helpful. I decided to get the steak and eggs.It came with hash browns and grits and bread. My husband got the farmhouse omelette. My food was delicious although the hash browns could be cooked a little bit longer because some parts were soggy. My husband liked his food but his gravy was absolutely disgusting. I took a bite of it and noticed it had a burnt smoke flavor. He tasted it and noticed the same thing and said it tasted like campfire. We mentioned to the server and she said it's supposed to have a pepper taste but this definitely wasn't a pepper taste. We think they made a batch and burned it and mixed it with a fresh batch.
