I love biscuits and am always on the hunt for a great biscuit. This biscuit was perfect...buttery, soft inside, held together well as a breakfast sandwich. The biscuits and gravy looked wonderful. The coffee is great. They also have gluten free biscuits! The grits were among my favorites as well. Our friends venture here a lot, almost weekly and have been known to go two times in one day so we had to try it out! The inside is adorable with a country homestead feel. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. They have take-home ready made meals available in coolers to the right of the counter. Some frozen & some not. The day we were there they had pimento cheese & chicken salad in half pint and pint containers. A few of the meal options were shrimp boil, pork tenderloin, & chicken and biscuits. They have gluten free biscuits and regular biscuits in 6-packs to take home too. They are only open Friday and Saturdays for breakfast (7-11am) and lunch (11am-2pm). They offer catering services the rest of the week and I imagine it is top notch based on the level of service and the quality of food I encountered today. It is a family run operation with an a

I cant say enough good things about both of my experiences at Homestead kitchen! They opened last Friday so my cousin and I stopped in for lunch. The transformation of the old R&L building is incredible. The inside is so friendly and inviting. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you so I got a pimento cheese sandwich grilled on potato bread with fries, a burger add fried egg with chips, and a side of Mac and cheese. The burger was so incredibly juicy and well seasoned for a smash burger. The fries were hot and crispy. The pimento cheese plump. The Mac and cheese wonderfully creamy with a crisp of bread crumbs. Our experience was so wonderful I went back for breakfast the next morning. I got a fried chicken biscuit add American cheese, a bacon egg and cheddar cheese biscuit, and a monroeton monster breakfast platter. The biscuits were buttery and flaky but not dry. The fried chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The sausage on the breakfast platter was thick and crispy. And these are just the highlights - the entire meal was amazing and I plan to be back each week to get breakfast. They have a little market on the far side of the restaurant where they sell merch and homemade foods for carry out such as deserts, biscuits, and take home meals in their fridge. They're only open for lunch Fridays and breakfast on Saturdays so the take and heat meals are excellent if you're craving Homestead at dinner time. If you're in the Reidsville area and looking for a new spot to dine, I highly recommend trying the new Homestead Kitchen!

First step in the door immediately feels like going to your grandparents house for Sunday breakfast. It's so welcoming and warm, the staff is so sweet and willing to help. The food is phenomenal, gray perfection and the omelet is a dream I continue to have. I can't wait to go back and try more things. It's a perfect spot for a breakfast date, or family lunch! They also have the sweetest little shopping nook! I am so grateful Reidsville has this little gem and I hope they stay forever.

Wonderful food! It is not your typical type of restaurant. The service is great. I only wish that it would be open more days.

I always order the fluffy on GF with no cheese, and he always orders the Italian on GF with no cheese. There is cross contamination, so if you are celiac, you can ask them to change gloves, use a clean knife, and keep your sandwich away from the others. We have almost never received the correct order without cheese the first time, but they don't make a fuss when asked to remake the sandwiches, and they are very apologetic. These sandwiches are generous with the meat and other fillings, and the pizza-crust-as-bread works so well. We also get their delicious potato salad with our sandwiches. The seating area is not huge, maybe ten tables, but we've never had to wait for one, and we often take our order to go. The restaurant is clean, and parking is fairly convenient. Even with the issue of having to remake sandwiches, I still rate Blake's a solid five star. It's consistently delicious, and I like supporting a small business in my home community.

The service and staff were very nice, the food just wasn't very impressive.

(4.25) O'Brien's is the kind of classic deli every city…read moreshould have. It's a small space - a few tables inside and a few tables out - but don't let that or the line you are likely to encounter deter you. They crank out sandwiches quickly here. Said sandwiches include about two dozen hot and cold offerings as well as the ability to build your own. The meats are Boar's Head, but the desserts and soups are made fresh in-house. Check out the display case for salads and sides that might catch your eye. O'Brien's prides itself on its Reuben, and so I went with the "mini" version (a quarter rather than a half pound of meat) with a pickle for my first visit here. Ordering at the register was a breeze, and I was fortunate enough to snag one of the tables for dine-in. Though I was a bit skeptical that the Reuben would match the hype, it delivered. I don't know that it is without a doubt the best version I've had, but it is definitely up there. The grilled rye was nice and crisp, and I appreciated that they used both mustard and Russian dressing. That, plus the meat, kraut, and melty cheese, made for a very satisfying bite. At $10, the sandwich proved a good value, too. Unpretentious and nostalgically comforting (for Northern transplants, at least), O'Brien's is a well-oiled sandwich-slinging machine. Though that Reuben will be hard to top, I look forward to giving one of their other offerings (maybe a Cuban, maybe a Spicy Italian) a try.
