Great little spot. Great staff . The food is excellent. They have daily specials, which change seasonal. It's a one of a kind spot. Worth the trip.

My favorite food gem in kernersville. The prices here are so reasonable and the staff always so welcoming and nice to everybody who walks through their doors. This place gives the small town feel that is Kernersville. Very community based and it's good to see that for a change! The food is always amazing, never had anything I didn't like. I don't come as often as I'd like to due to their hours of business but you'll definitely find me here on a day off during the week! Highly recommend. This place will not disappoint.

Fitz is back at Fitz's! He is great at many things, but retirement is not one of them; he has un-retired yet again! It's a shorter week now, just Wed, Th, Fri, but I am so glad they didn't close altogether when Angel's family decided it was time for their next adventure. I got a Fitzadilla, still a fave of mine, and I'm delighted that the Shammy is back for breakfast time.

Wonderful little old fashioned family run diner. Tiny little restaurant for a great bite to eat! Very welcoming and fantastic staff! Basic menu and good food for a great price! Only open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30-1:30pm; make sure that you're lucky enough to grab a bite to eat there at this locally loved establishment. Breakfast is only until 10:30am. Can't wait to try their lunch menu.

Came in for Lunch. This place still has got it. I love the Christmas themed menu. Good specials. Friendly staff.

In downtown Kernersville around lunchtime craving a good sandwich and looked on Yelp! for a recommendation. Fitz On Main was first on the list and happened to be a block away so we gave it a try. Being that we are in the COVID-19 shut down, Fitz was taking call in orders with pick up around back. We didn't get the dining experience, but will definitely come back when we can. From the outside it appears to be a very cool place. We ordered the Rueben with fries and the Chicken Cordon Blu sandwich with fries. Both were excellent! The rye bread on the Rueben was buttery and perfectly toasted. Usually the bread isn't the standout of a Ruben, but it sure was awesome here. The Chicken Cordon Blu was terrific as well. Very friendly service and great sandwiches at good prices. This is a don't miss in downtown K'ville.

I love this place. It's a really neat little diner. Neat little fact is long ago it used to be the alley between the two building and the original owner was able to close in the alley and turn it into another building. Fast forward to today, now a great local place. I haven't been to anything but breakfast and it's one of the best for a down home breakfast.

We've lived in this area for 2.5 years and have seen Fitz on Main many times but we had never tried it. We were out early for a doctor appointment and decided to try it...and were glad we did! It is very quaint little place...it's only 9 feet wide; it was originally an alley between 2 buildings. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was good; and it great prices too! I had an omelette that was perfectly made and seasoned. My husband had one of their ginormous pancakes and a side of hash browns. They were delicious too! They were actually tater tots, but they were perfectly crispy and made my husband a believer! He's never liked tater tots, but he said these were different, way better than he's had anywhere before. We will definitely go there again! We may go for lunch or for their Friday night, reservation only special meal!

All I can say is tiny place, big taste! You can definitely tell this place has been around FOREVER and it's got the antiques and photos to prove it. The menu is exactly what you would expect and seems to be unchanged throughout the years with the exception of a special or two. I think the most wild thing I saw on the menu was a fried bologna sandwich! I couldn't believe it, super old school southern (from what this Florida native can tell anyway) my friend ended up getting that with the onion rings and was just over the moon with both the sandwich and the onion rings! While I'm not a bologna eater I did manage to sneak an onion ring and they were fantastic! Crispy and well cooked on the inside as well. We got the basket of fries to start with some ranch and while the ranch was unusually thin it still did the job and the fries were hot and yummy as well. I got the patty melt and asked for a single which they accommodated and it was sooo good! The quality of beef used was very evident as it literally melted in my mouth in every bite of cheesy, bacony, goodness! I know bacony isn't a word but it is today lol. What a fun trip to a local establishment that's been around downtown Kernersville for decades and is sure to be around for decades more!

    A very tasty lunch

Fitz on Main is taking social distancing, a term I detest as it is something of an oxymoron, to a new level. They have some borderline Soup Nazi-like rules: Do not come inside Use the online menu Place your order over the phone Go around back to pick it up Be as close to the curb as possible But it is worth it. They are actually very nice and cheerful and accommodating within the parameters they have set. And they make a really good lunch. I ordered the turkey, bacon, and Swiss sandwich, a hot dog all the way, and fries. Sandwich: a very good sandwich with tasty ingredients and grilled perfectly. 'Nuff said. Hot dog: well above average. The slaw was excellent, the all-beef wiener was very good, but the chili was just average. Overall very enjoyable. Fries: they looked more overdone than they actually were, but they still tasted very good. This is another very viable option for carryout during the disease-that-shall-not-be-named crisis.

This old fashioned diner is located in the heart of Kernersville and has great diner food and a homey atmosphere. I stopped in to get some breakfast to go, while not quick for 2 bacon egg and cheeses they were delicious! As I was waiting many people came and went many of them the staff seemed to know even one everyone called Grandpa, it was adorable. I had ordered hashbrowns as my sides but when the girl brought them out she apologized that they ran out of hashbrowns so they added Tots instead. To be honest I am glad! I don't know how good the hashbrowns are but the TOTs were perfection. There is limited seating inside (counter) two small tables outside and a few tables in the back. Also, if you are the least bit claustrophobic this isn't the place for you, probably the most narrow diner I have ever seen. Also as an FYI , based on old photos I had seen it said it was cash only so I got out cash before going but they now accept card as well.

***CARDS ARE ACCEPTED*** We stopped into Fitz on Main for a late breakfast. Unknown to us breakfast cutoff is 10:30 and we were just a few minutes late. Early lunch it is. My first impression was that this was a small, tight diner. Counter seating is the majority here with a few tables and chairs at the rear. Nothing special, lets eat our mediocre meal and go. Our waitress was quick to arrive and take our orders. I got the Patty Melt while my wife got the Little Burger. While waiting for our food I noticed that most, if not everyone else in the place seemed to be a regular. That's good that they have this much return business. I also noticed a few WWII era posters on the walls. Go USA! On another note, our wait after ordering seemed a little long. Maybe I was just hangry but you can tell from my 4 stars it didn't bother me too much. When our food arrived it looked GOOD! My wife's side of house chips were crunchy but not overcooked or greasy. My fries were the same way and both of us got large portions. The way the rye bread added flavor to my Patty Melt was a welcome change from regular loaf bread. My wife's burger was dressed well and the bacon was crispy. She ate the whole thing without a complaint. Overall, I recommend Fitz on Main. The service was good and the food tasted great.

We continually had to drive around the building in search of a parking space. Several of our employees were from out of town, and they were concerned about getting towed. It took them over 20 minutes to find a parking space and another 15 minutes to walk to the restaurant, as the entire parking lot was full. Next, we ordered from their extensive menu, which offered plenty of options. The waitress was fantastic and the food was fresh. The place was packed but clean, and we weren't cramped in the building. For the amount paid for eight people, it was worth the visit and likely a revisit.

It's in that same TGI Friday's/Ruby Tuesday/Applebees tier, yet its full parking lot suggests brisk business. The location - it sits on a busy stretch of 66 - may explain some of that though Sixty Six isn't without other virtues. Spacious and well-staffed, Sixty Six isn't the kind of place where you'll have to wait long to find a table or receive food. It's dark and a bit noisy but not headache-inducingly loud. The menu is decently large, boasting everything from apps and wings to burgers and sandwiches to Tex Mex and pizza. There aren't any real surprises, but there's enough variety to accommodate most diets. For our lunchtime visit, my wife and I split a fried pickles app followed by a jalapeno burger (with sweet potato fries) and a Nashville chicken sandwich (with chips), respectively. Admittedly, the fried pickles didn't make for a very attractive-looking plate. Instead of golden brown pickle chips, there were thicker, lightly battered slices. However, they tasted just fine and paired well with a zesty dipping sauce. Speaking of zesty sauces, the chicken sandwich had it aplenty, and it made for a satisfyingly messy bite. The chips were homemade and rated above average. Unfortunately, Sixty Six overcooks its meats. Under all the sauce, the chicken itself was a bit dry. My wife ordered her burger medium well and received it well beyond well done. As with the chicken, it was still flavorful despite the doneness issues. On food alone, Sixty Six isn't a strong draw, but factor convenience and versatility into the mix, and it becomes a solid lunch option.

We were in the mood for some "fancy" burgers, and given what they do here at Sammy's (and that we had never been) decided to go for it. We both left wishing we had gone to one of several other known quantities in the area that also have some creative burgers. We both ordered the 2 slider combo, one of us went with two burger sliders, the other did a burger and chicken tender slider. One of us got fries, the other upgraded to onion rings. We also added on an all the way hot dog, because I can't help myself but try them wherever I go. Service at the counter was helpful, and the restaurant pretty clean. Drinks are self-serve in somewhat of a tight area for people moving through. They give you a number and bring the food to your table when ready. When the meal arrived, just visually, we were not excited by anything... except the hot dog. We'll start there, the brightest spot of the meal. The bun was clearly buttered and griddled, and biting in, you get a tasty frank, balanced chili and slaw, just enough onions and mustard. If I were to return, it would probably be for hot dogs. All three slider burgers were dry as a bone. They did not at all give the appearance of a burger that was griddled to order. The bacon cheeseburger did not come with any kind of sauce, to make that edible, we added some ranch that came with the onion rings. The buffalo chicken tender slider was quite bland for buffalo style, and soggy. The fries were good, but the onion rings were not. I don't think the oil was hot enough, so not only were they mealy and not crispy, they were just so oily that it made them unappealing. Given what we paid, and compared to other burgers in the area, I don't see us coming back.
