This is just me but the type of food it is feels more like a place you would walk up to the counter and order and have it brought to you versus a sit down service. However, with the added alcoholic beverages, I guess it kind of makes sense. The feel of it just felt very mixed. It was sit down with service but also felt very sports bar/fast casual. I personally would have been fine with a walk up counter where I could order drinks and food and then pick my spot to sit down. We started with some drinks. I got a blueberry mojito and my husband got an old fashioned. We had very different experiences. My blueberry mojito I questioned whether there was any alcohol in it and it tasted just okay. I would not order again. My husband however said his old fashioned was one of the best he has had in the triad. He said it was very spirit forward and they didn't try to water it down with adding unnecessary extras. He would definitely get his again. From the burger standpoint, we both got the Joey's classic. I got it with one patty and he got it with double patties. I thought it tasted good but nothing that made me say wow. I also got the Mac n cheese side that also was just okay; felt very commercial Mac n cheese versus a unique one done by a restaurant; almost like a fast food Mac n Cheese if that makes sense. Husband liked his burger and said he would get it again and also liked his side of fries. If it had just been me that went, I would have rated it likely a 3 but given that my husband had a good experience, I am rating it higher.

The servers there work their butts off to provide great service, they have always been friendly and courteous! The food is is home cooked, phenomenal tasting and just outright great! One of the wonderful things we enjoy is Rosanna(owner) seems to graciously make her way around helping when they are busy and short staffed, talking with the customers and providing that personal touch that so many places have seriously lost the know how to do. We live in Greensboro and it's about a 40 minute drive and is worth every second of it! Looking forward to future visits to a local icon!!

The diner is a diner. Booths and some tables and chairs in the back. This is self service. They have a lot of hot coffee for refills and a soda machine. After a previous subpar experience, Cooper's Hawk corporate reached out and provided us with gift cards to encourage us to return. We appreciated the gesture and came back genuinely hoping our first experience had simply been an off night. Unfortunately, this visit was actually worse. The biggest problem was the service. We experienced unreasonably long waits throughout the evening, both for drinks and between courses. These weren't occasional delays during an otherwise well-paced dinner--the poor pacing affected the entire meal and made what should have been an enjoyable evening unnecessarily frustrating. We were also uncomfortable with some mildly inappropriate and unprofessional conduct from our server. I don't feel the need to publicly go into detail, but combined with the extremely slow service, it contributed to an experience that fell well below what we would expect from a restaurant at this price point. What makes this particularly disappointing is that Cooper's Hawk corporate had already acknowledged our previous experience and made a genuine effort to get us back through the door. This was an opportunity for the restaurant to win us back, and instead we left feeling even more disappointed than we did the first time. I do appreciate corporate's attempt to make things right, but unfortunately, after giving Cooper's Hawk another chance and having an even worse experience, it's difficult to imagine returning again.
