Took a little drive to get out of the house and ended up here for lunch. The staff was friendly, took orders efficiently, and got them out to customers ASAP. I was disappointed to see that the wait staff was not wearing masks or gloves in the midst of this pandemic. I ordered two chili cheese dogs and onion rings and my dining partner had a burger and fries. Overall the food was pretty good. If I'm in this neck of the woods again we might stop in.

I really wanted to like this place, I appreciate restaurants that have been around for a long time, but this place is serving up sad, bland, flavorless food! I ordered the hamburger steak with fries and macaroni and cheese. Usually when I eat at a hole in the wall restaurant they have really good baked macaroni and cheese. This was not baked, this didn't even have real cheese, they were obviously using canned cheese in their mac and cheese which should be a crime! The hamburger steak literally had no flavor at all, and the hamburger was tough and chewy. It came with cornbread, I asked the waitress if it was sweet cornbread and she said it was, she couldn't have been further from the truth! This cornbread was completely dry and flavorless. I do have to give them extra credit for being nice, the waitress and who I assume was the owner were very friendly, but their food is terrible! Maybe I should have ordered something different, judging by the photos uploaded to Yelp it seems like people only order hamburgers and hot dogs here, that might have been a safer bet!

I was back in my birthplace for my 80 y/o Mom's wedding, so I *had* to stop by Dick's Drive-In a couple of times. First visit was a cheeseburger w/mustard, chili, slaw (my usual) and fries. Ridiculously good. Second visit was inside the restaurant w/brother and his awesome family. Seeing that Dick's had won "best hot dog in town," I ordered that with "the works" and my usual cheeseburger w/mustard, chili, slaw and fries. Also got some hush puppies for the family to try and some slaw. The hot dog was so vibrantly pink that my nieces recoiled but I devoured every bit of it and everything they delivered. My nieces were skeptical, but said they ended up loving it, which brought me joy. I heart this place.

Solid, middle of the road drive in. Serves a nice breakfast, good sandwiches, fries, some plates. The hot dog and cheeseburger were pretty good, but not great. The service is excellent here, and it gets busy on the weekends. This place does much well, just not anything spectacular. It is a point of opportunity type place, not a destination type place.

"Meatloaf", mac&cheese and what's left of the fried squash

I ordered meatloaf, what I got was ground beef (some of it pink) with onions and and ketchup. No seasoning, at all. Mac and cheese was ok, really heavy and fried squash was pretty good. Didn't realize that this place only takes cash, and to top that, their atm (which surcharges) was broke. While I was here I saw employees eating while fixing food and a kid being allowed to run around in the kitchen.

Great local establishment. We had a variety of food to sample the menu. I would recommend the Munchers which are potatoes, jalapeños, and cheese. So good. I had a chicken sandwich that came with a salad and fries. I will be returning to this establishment!

The marquee at Dick's Drive In boasts that they have the best hot dog in Rockingham County as voted by its citizens. I don't see how. I would strongly urge these voters to make the 20 minute drive to Johnson's Family Grill in Madison, also in Rockingham County, where a truly excellent hot dog can be found. I am certain they will vote differently next time. My hot dog was served with cold chili, so I asked for a replacement. The replacement came out with lukewarm chili, which was average tasting at best. The slaw tasted pretty good but was a little too wet. The real problem, perhaps, was the hot dog itself, which had little flavor, and what flavor there was was not good. The fries tasted old. The onion rings were very tasty but leaned greasy. The large burger was not that large, but the bun was. The patty was flattened out to try to make it appear larger, but this just made for a poor burger-to-bread ratio. The cheese was literally a half slice of American cheese and not fully melted. I had high hopes for Dick's but was sorely disappointed. Dick's slogan is "The place to be since '63". Not me.

A classic American drive-through experience. Food was good... Although portions are somewhat small. Price is reasonable.

The Carolina burger is a standout and pairs perfectly with the truffle fries. Everything always comes out hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. The burgers have that great crispy edge that makes smash burgers so satisfying. Their truffle fries are seasoned well and make a great upgrade from regular fries. Ordering to-go is simple and convenient, making it an easy choice for a quick meal. Overall, it's a reliable place for flavorful burgers and consistently good food.

This is just me but the type of food it is feels more like a place you would walk up to the counter and order and have it brought to you versus a sit down service. However, with the added alcoholic beverages, I guess it kind of makes sense. The feel of it just felt very mixed. It was sit down with service but also felt very sports bar/fast casual. I personally would have been fine with a walk up counter where I could order drinks and food and then pick my spot to sit down. We started with some drinks. I got a blueberry mojito and my husband got an old fashioned. We had very different experiences. My blueberry mojito I questioned whether there was any alcohol in it and it tasted just okay. I would not order again. My husband however said his old fashioned was one of the best he has had in the triad. He said it was very spirit forward and they didn't try to water it down with adding unnecessary extras. He would definitely get his again. From the burger standpoint, we both got the Joey's classic. I got it with one patty and he got it with double patties. I thought it tasted good but nothing that made me say wow. I also got the Mac n cheese side that also was just okay; felt very commercial Mac n cheese versus a unique one done by a restaurant; almost like a fast food Mac n Cheese if that makes sense. Husband liked his burger and said he would get it again and also liked his side of fries. If it had just been me that went, I would have rated it likely a 3 but given that my husband had a good experience, I am rating it higher.

The ambiance was absolutely perfect, and the music complemented the experience beautifully without being overwhelming. The food was phenomenal. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and melted in my mouth. Paired with the perfectly prepared lobster tail, it made for an unforgettable meal. The whipped potatoes were incredibly creamy and delicious, and the lemon pound cake was the perfect sweet ending to dinner. I also have to rave about the watermelon margarita--it was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and one of the best margaritas I've had. The service was outstanding from start to finish. We were seated promptly for our Friday night, 6:30pm reservation. Tables were well spaced and never felt cramped. We only ordered the bread basket, You Knead This, as an appetizer; opting for salads to start the meal. The Merc, The Chopped and The Grilled Caesar were liked by all. I personally had the Chopped and it had a great mix of texture and flavors with candied pecans, pickled onions, mandarin oranges and a sweet poppyseed dressing. All six of us ordered steaks, two ribeyes, three filets and one sirloin. All were cooked perfectly ranging from rare to well done. They were well seasoned and most of us chose the Gorgonzola Bacon Butter which was a nice addition. The Brussel Sprout appetizer is a huge crowd favorite, but the side dish is only charred. However, you can request that they prepare them the same way as the appetizer. They were delicious and so were the Au Gratin Potatoes, which were baked in their own little metal crock. Dessert finished up with a Key Lime Crème Brûlée that was delicately flavored with a light touch of lime. We also had a Brownie Sundae that was delicious as expected. Customer service was on point from the greet to the farewell and everything in between. Overall a truly flawless experience.
