Sirloin with Au Gratin Potatoes and Green Beans, bordelaise on the side.

Visit #2 - came back because these Brussel Sprouts haunt my dreams. I am not joking, they are THAT good! Other steakhouse staples are just as dreamy - outstanding cuts of meat and entrees. We had a later reservation but the bar was lively and our server was attentive. We had a birthday in our group and she really went all out with some ice cream!

Hands down one of the best steakhouses I've ever been to! My steak was cooked to absolute perfection and I lovedddd the salt rub on the outside. The Mac and cheese was to die for. I originally didn't order any but after trying a bite of my husbands I had to get a side for myself! I also started with a wedge salad that had a delicious homemade ranch. For dessert we chose the crème brûlée which was the perfect ending to our celebratory dinner. Service was top notch and the restaurant is decorated beautifully. 10/10 recommend for your next date night or celebration meal!

My friend and I have wanted to try this restaurant for months. We finally made it to Mercantile. We sat at the bar and our bartender Alex was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. The filet and ribeye were both extremely flavorful and cooked to perfection. We added the Brussels and the au gratin potatoes. Not pictured I brought home a side of Mac and cheese to have with my leftovers. I have to be honest the Mac and cheese wasn't hitting on much BUT everything else was superb! The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful! The accents, decor, plates- the gold silverware. Everything was extremely top notch and this is now one of our favorite date night spots!

Hidden gem in King, NC! The food was incredible, it's a smaller restaurant with modern/chic decorations so it gave a private upscale ambiance. We also had amazing service from start to finish! Will definitely be coming back!

Grilled meatloaf and potatoes

Food was wonderful and so was the service. The Brussel sprouts blew me away along with the grilled meatloaf. Very inviting atmosphere!

From appetizer to desserts, the food was amazing. The steak was the freshest cut of meat I think I've ever had. The prices were reasonable. We expected it to be a lot more than it was being a high-end restaurant. The ambience was formal yet casual. Some more dressed up and some people were in jeans. And everyone was accepted. Surprisingly, the service was even great. They had only been open for two or three weeks when we went. Shows great signs of good management and skillful thought for the menu and how to run a business

We loved our meal! We started with the crab dip and then enjoyed salads, the dry aged ribeye and porterhouse. We finished our meal with the fondue. Everything was delicious. Our server, Issac, was attentive and friendly. This is a great addition to downtown King!

Mayflower Seafood - Teriyaki Salmon, fried green beans and a baked potato

This location is about 15 years old and its 3.4 Yelp rating is a slight bit better than most of the Mayflower spots. Since I was in the area and a bit hungry, I stopped in for an early lunch. I ordered the Popcorn Shrimp, and this was a nicely fried plate with plenty of tasty shrimp. This is not a destination seafood spot, like Walkertown or Capt Tom's in Kernersville, but more a point of opportunity and convenience place. You generally have a pretty good idea what you're getting in food and service.

We were waited on by Ethan and Cohen, both nice guys who did a great job. I ordered lemon-pepper chicken and jumbo shrimp with a side of veggie-medley. First off, the veggies were good. Probably steamed in salted water and somehow not overdone. Whatever the way, for something so simple, the job was done right. The chicken was very flavorful and tender, Very tasty. The shrimp were delicious. It came with a side of Texas toast as well. All of it was good, better than I expected. The guys I ate with seemed to be pleased with their food, and I enjoyed the hush-puppy rings that came with the table. Successful dinner. Good stuff. I'm sure I'll be back.

I didn't realize that I'd not written a review of this fine seafood spot for quite a while now…read more This is the premier fried seafood spot in triad area in my opinion, stretching from Mebane to Mocksville, from the Virginia line in the north to at least Salisbury in the south. I stop in here for lunch at least twice a month. This is a family operation that began in 2006 when George Paloumbas remodeled a John Deere dealership building, turning it into a casual seafood restaurant, that at the time was in the middle of nowhere. Despite the location, the restaurant prospered, attracting folks from Burlington to Mocksville, and north to the Virginia line, south to Salisbury! Jimmy Shipman, the current general manage, had been a customer for a number of years, often dining with his grandmother. He started busing tables there about 2015, married George Paloumbas' daughter, Maria, in 2019, and was made general manager in 2020. He guided the restaurant through the Covid time frame by concentrating on providing efficient take out orders. He had to hire someone to direct the traffic, it was so popular. This is certainly a family and community operation - a number of the employees have Been there for years, and much that the restaurant sells is sourced in the region. Seafood from Todd's Seafood in Thomasville, and deserts from Cake & All Things Yummy. I almost always get fried seafood, although the Broiled Captain's Platter is very nice as well. My favorite item is the bone-in croaker!

The onion rings are good - I forgot to request extra crispy, but since I didn't finish them, I took them home and used the air fryer to rewarm them the next day. Man they were greasy (thank you air fryer for caring for my arteries)!!! But very crisp like I like. I'm not one for a lot of batter in my seafood, so I opted for the salt & peppered version. It's a lot lighter and tastes good seeing it is the only seasoning you'd need on fish. This visit I opted to try the broiled jumbo shrimp with my combo (with an up charge) and I'm so glad I did!! I think next time I'll get a broiled platter and skip the fryer! Seasoning was delicious!! #OldBay Looking forward to another visit soon.

When we first walked in, it was busy and we heard the hostess tell the couple in front of us they would need to wait over an hour for a table - Lucky for me my wife made reservations and we were seated immediately! It was a bit on the noisy side but not so bad we couldn't have a conversation. Our servers, Thomas, was fantastic start to finish with good recommendations, attentive service without being overbearing, and a great personality. Good staff make a business shine! We started with glasses of wine and were impressed with how generous they poured. Perhaps it was a visual illusion, but they felt like very large glasses of wine and made it feel like a very good value. They have a good selection of wines to choose from along with a full bar. Appetizer was the Crab Cake Egg Rolls, something I don't think I've seen anywhere else. They're cooked in Beef Tallow which gave a very savory flavor and crispy texture. They were a bit on the oily side but overall flavor was delicious, and I really liked the dipping sauce which was like a very herb-heavy tartar sauce. For entrees, my wife had the Filet and I had a New York Strip. I don't have the words to describe how delicious and perfectly prepared both of these were. I didn't even bother asking for steak sauce because the perfectly tender and seasoned steak didn't need it. Nobody wants to pay high prices for a steak and receive something low quality, and I was thrilled with the quality of the steaks here. Surrounding tables likewise had great looking meals and I overheard them voicing pleasure too. As sides go, the baked potatoes and salads were excellent too. I got the hot bacon vinegarette dressing and was surprised it was actually served quite hot. It had a really rich and slightly tangy flavor that was unique and I really enjoyed on my salad. I have no complaints here and will absolutely be back. Of course it's on the pricey end, but this is the type of establishment you reserve for a special night out, not your average Tuesday night. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed!

To be fair none of us ordered steak... at a steakhouse, so that could have been our issue. Our server was really friendly and attentive. Don't leave without ordering the cream corn. Just trust us.

As it turns out, P B Clark's is a restaurant the likes of which you'll see in or near most small towns. Meat and 2 sides, lots of fish, somewhat worn interior, not super clean, wait staff who are regular people. I've seen it plenty of times and I generally like these places because they are predictable and serve good basic food. P B Clark's is no different. The girl who waited on us is young and has a sunny personality. Super nice and always available. We were also topped off by another nice girl, possibly another waitress or a food runner. I ordered the Friday special catfish with fries and hush puppies. I'm giving this review a 4-star because of the staff and the fish. Otherwise, it would be a three star. The catfish had a ton of flavor and needed nothing for a frozen, breaded, deep fried catfish filet. The hushpuppies were bland, the fries were slightly undercooked and needed salt. My friend had a burger which appeared to be good. Would I go back? Yes, I would.

I had called ahead and asked when a good time on Saturday to arrive for a group our size. They shared that breakfast was the busiest time but if we arrived after 11:30 we shouldn't have any problem. These folks know their business, they were spot on! We pulled a few tables together. Our server was extraordinarily patient as our group trickled in arriving in King from Winston-Salem. I think she was very much surprised when 10 out of the 12 us ordered hot dog plates. We started with an order of buffalo chips and they were very much enjoyed along with the ranch they were served with. I think we all enjoyed our hot dogs (mine with chili, mustard, and onions, was great). We had a variety of sides and people spoke highly of the fried okra, banana pudding, sweet potato casserole, and fries. I'd definitely return to P.B. Clarks!
